I went thru this last July. My beloved Lab Jed. 14 years of fun,joy ,adventures. The loss of any pet is devastating. But a hunting retreiver is even worse. A hunting partner, we sweat together, froze together, soaked together. Enjoyed sunrises, successful hunts together. Jed made me proud so many times.
Ted God Bless you, your family and Happy. This just broke our hearts, as we love our rescue dog Piper. I know when our times come we will see everyone and everything we loved again in heaven. Happy is in our prayers, ODTRP
Ted, our dogs are our children, and we lose a piece of our hearts ever time we give our pet back to Jesus. We were never meant to have them for our entire lives, the Lord entrusted us with his pets for a finite amount of time. Happy will see you again. You can count on that. Cry all you want, friend. It's what we do. Peace, John
Aww Ted... I'm so sorry for your loss and nothing can make that feeling go away. And just when you think your over it, the good memories come flooding back. Hang in there. You experienced what others could only hoped for... unconditional love.
It been about the same we lost our fur baby. He didn’t even act sick,it was so fast. He rode 4 wheeler, golf carts, tractor. My husband made special seating for him on everything.
Sorry Ted. What a hard loss, we have 8 Huskies a lab and a sheperd. The best friends anyone could have. Losing one is like a child. You will see him in Heaven, God Bless You. I remember the Amboy Dukes in Biloxi..

The most precious gifts we can never keep. They come into our lives and give us endless joy and happiness yet ask for so little in return. A warm bed, a full belly and some love and affection. We get ten times that in return. So sorry for your loss. 💔🐕
My "Lacy' passed in May of 2016. I had her remains cremated and placed into a very nice cedar box. To this day, I still have that box on my nightstand next to my bed. I don't think I can ever say, 'goodbye'. I know I should and will consider such but, until I'm ready, I just can't. I've adopted two other pups since but Lacy will forever be my baby girl. Attended a funeral a few years back. The man that passed away drove a red pickup around town and always had his big Saint Bernard in the back. It was a small town and everyone would recognize him with his big dog passenger rolling thru town. During the funeral the big Saint Bernard was brought in and up to the open casket. The dog stood up on its hind feet and put his paws on the edge of the casket and let out a long howl. There wasn't a dry eye in the place.
He wasn’t just a dog Ted. I lost two of my dogs in the last couple years and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t shed a tear. God bless you and all our fur babies 🙏🏻
Dogs are more than just dogs. My black lab passed at 13 and he was so special. A rescue dog. Now I have a yellow very similar to Happy. Another great dog. Amazing how they can read us and we can read them.
I lost my Rudy on new years eve 2022 Ted and I still can't talk about him without breaking down. Best friend and buddy I ever had and I'm 75 years old. I feel your pain...
My 12-year-old Siberian Husky named Teeko Tanka {Guiding Spirit Wolf} passed recently. He was my fury guardian angel in the snowy Colorado mountains. He taught me a lot about life and now death. He knew how to live and have joy in the present without all the distractions that modern life creates. He survived a moose attack one night without a scratch and showed me lots of wildlife in the dark that I had no clue were watching us. He was a wonderful companion to me and everyone he met. A superb camper. The Eskimos have a saying that home is wherever the sled dogs are. And the Irish have a saying that the richest man in the world is the man with a good dog. They truly enrich our lives. It takes time to heal when you lose a good friend.
They are never "just dogs" Ted. We lost our Kali in August, got a new rescue puppy in October. But Kali is here in our hearts. We are back up to 4 pups, and the loss of each will be another heartache. 🙏🙏
I've owned 20, all rescued dogs. Still have 13 and 1 cat. I still have a lot of heartaches ahead of me. But, I know for sure I will see them all again soon. I'm 71 with more years behind me than in front of me. They run and play in Paradise waiting for me to get there! Blessings to you.
Love to you and your family....I still cry about an amazing fella we lost 11 years ago. His name was Sammie, fiercest protector and silliest boy ever. His love for our autistic daughter was incredible. He actually smelled flowers and enjoyed life. Sending comfort through prayer from Oklahoma. We love you guys, thank you for your wisdom and unwavering spirit.

My dog Bo went to the other side in 2002. I was 16. Im 39 now. He was the best and most important thing that ever happened to me. I learned about love, empathy, companionship and so much more as a result of that relationship. Im sorry for your loss brother but im even more grateful for you and the amazing experience you got to have with your friend. I love you brother. Thanks for all you do.

I lost my 13 y/o Labrador girl last Monday (3/25). It’s been a terrible week for us. She was my companion in camping, hunting, and always by my side. I feel your pain Ted
Great sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your dog. We love them every day we have them and when they leave us we are devastated. You will feel him around you for years.
I'm so sorry for you. My dog Teddy was crushed by a school bus about 8 months ago. His grave is in our garden. I get choked up and teary eyed every time I go out there. Losing your dog or any living thing you love is so hard. Hang in there guys,
SINCERELY sorry to hear this about happy uncle Ted . He was a great hunting partner and our dogs are like our kids . Much love brotha rip happy missed but never forgotten. Much love to uncle Ted and the family God bless.
I can still cry over a dog that passed nearly 30 years ago. That big lug went everywhere with us. Protective, but gentle. He let little kids pull on his ears and tail, and never so much as growled. Peace, brother. We will see them again.
I know how you are feeling my wonderful pup Tigger passed away the end of January and I miss him every day. I had him since he was a puppy and he was sixteen years old when he passed. Everytime I here of someone's beloved dog passing away I miss my friend Tigger.
I am very sorry for your loss Uncle Ted!! When it’s time for my now 12 years old, mutt, Sparkles to cross that bridge I’m going to shed many tears. I’m a USMC grunt and a current LEO. I’ve only cried once, when my father passed 12 years ago but when she goes, it’s not going to be pretty!!
I feel your pain, it's tough to lose a pet. No sympathy cards, no gathering of freinds and family, you find a box, dig a hole, pick a flower, say a prayer and go back into the house, looking at their favorite sleeping spot, now emty. Be thankful your freind lived a long life. Get a puppy. All the best.
We lost our Basset Millie in 2020 and we still tear up when we think of Her, even though we have a new Pup which we love so much, Millie will be forever in our hearts, so we understand, they become like our children especially after the kids grow up and leave the nest. God bless you and your family !
Hi folks, I was awakened this morning by the songs of many birds that filled the sky. I was greeted in a field of beautiful wildflowers by my great-grandmother. I am now a great white wolf, you see I no longer need my earthly form. The bright sun makes my long smooth coat shine. The field is lined by great trees, and the sky is always bright with a light breeze moving small white clouds along. There are steams with clear, cool water running over flat rocks in the fields. I have met many of my family here and we have run and howled the day away, resting at times in the shade of the trees. There is more than enough to eat of the finest meats and many bones to chew on. We are all young again and we play with toys and each other like puppies. This evening we all gathered close together to rest at the foot of our Father's bed. God loves all he has created but, we are his guardians. For that short time, I spent with you, I Thank You for your love and care. I will await the day that we shall come together again in our Lord's home. Your Beloved Puppy
That is beautiful. Thank you. If I may, I have a dream that I would like to share. Back in August of last year, we lost one of our cats, Pammy. She was having mini strokes, but we didn’t know. She had been on a slow, steady decline in health for a couple years. One morning, she was cold on her inconsistency pad that she slept on between us. I cried my eyes out and I felt guilty as if I hadn’t done enough. She was 19. In the dream I went out of the house to go to work and sitting there in the driveway in a line was every pet I had ever owned from the first to Pammy. In the dream, they could all speak English. Pammy came forward and said, “dad, we are all here together to let you know that we know. We love you, we understand, we are grateful, and you did your best.” Gargamel, my first cat, stepped forward and said, “you are my brother. I love you”. Then Missy, my only dog. “You were a wonderful dad”. Then Smokey, Oreo, Runt, and Casper. They all said something similar. Then Pammy came forward again and said, “dad, you can relax. You did well. We knew we were loved and cared for. You have other kids to care for.” I woke up with 3 of our cats around my head, purring at me and a 4th on my belly. I cried and they comforted me. 😞😞
We lost two Great Danes last year. Three months apart. What is it about those precious canines? I will never be able to put into words how much love and joy they gave to our whole family. I think about them almost daily. Sorry for your loss Ted.

I lost my furry buddy last fall after 17 1/2 years. He was out chasing rabbits 🐇 up until just a few days before he passed (of course that is what beagles do). Being on the hunt kept him young, Happy was happy because of being with your family and being on the hunt.

It's been 17 weeks since I lost my Gilligan. (I still cry for him.) My Little Buddy! What a sweet boy, a real hero, he once jumped on a big dog, to help me, when the big dog had me by the leg, which was torn open. Dogs are among the beasts who have souls! Sorry for your loss Ted. We will be with them again for our father wants his children to be happy! They play and await their owners in Paradise, which I have seen. Peace be with you.
Losing a dog is a very tough thing. My dog OMG was a loyal happy dog. He had a tumor on his backside shutting off the Colon. Wasn't sick. But I put him down to make sure he didn't suffer. This was 4 months ago and my wife and I still cry at times. Hardest decision I made in my life. I'll see him again in heaven. It does get better with time yet we will never forget. Hang in there Ted . God bless.

Brother Ted, I feel your pain! Pups touch your heart & their loss hits home like no other! I recently had to put my best buddy, Wizard, down & I can’t stop myself from apologizing to him? I know he’s in a better place & he’s keeping Gods feet warm as we speak as is your “Happy”! God bless you Sir, and I know it hurts bad now, but it’ll get better? And it’s not like you’ll ever forget him, cause he’ll always be with you watching over you & yours. Sever condolences.

I got my buddy, Hogan, from American Vet dogs in 2008 after getting wounded in Iraq. He has helped me more than I can put into words. I love him so much and can't bear to know that He will probably pass this year. He means the world to me and I can't get myself to get another service dog, because I don't want to lose another friend. We bond with them and they love us unconditionally. My heart hurts for you Mr Nugent. Much love and May the Lord ease and lift your heavy heart. 😞
I am so sorry that you lost your friend and soulmate. I had a cat for 17 years 9 months and she was suffering with arthritis and other things. I had her put down in January of 2020 and this (currently) 60yo man cried like a baby. There is no shame in crying. You gave your dog the best life that it could have asked for and that's better than a lot of other pups. #BeHappy4Happy
Just as he wore the collar around his neck for a week I also take my Cat's collar and adjust it to fit my wrist to wear as a bracelet for weeks to honor my love for him or her as I grieve their passing, I once saw a bumper sticker that said "Pets are people too" !!! Sorry for your loss also to Ted and his family.

Giving her a forever home has been wonderfully healing for us. Take care.

I'm so sorry for your loss ♡ Be brave ♡
@@nancyschaillee7656 Thank you. Teeko gave me lots of wonderful memories!
@@rickyrichards7596 Thanks. God bless you and your furry crew
@@prdamerican667 May you and yours, have a Blessed Sabbath.
In Yeshua's name.
Had my dog for 16 years. She's been gone since July 18,2022, and I miss her every day. I miss her unconditional love and companionship.
I'm sorry Ted. My last dog had to be put down from age and cancer. I'm 62 and cried like a child. Felt like I lost a child. God Bless 🙏

God bless you and your family Uncle Ted. We lost our Jackson, the "Mad German", almost 8 years ago and are still tearing up missing him. Truly a gift from God.
We lost our 13 year old dog and feel the same that we were so thankful to be part of his life !.! RIP now and forever furry friends
No such thing as “just a dog” uncle Ted!!! These blessed angels are family and truly man’s best friend. So so sorry for your family’s loss 🥺 🐾 ❤️🩹
Not just a dog, but a Loyal Loving True Friend that gives so much more than what is required of them!! Sincere condolences Ted & family.
💔🐾
Sincere condolences on the loss of Happy. Our pets are true and faithful companions and fill a big place in our hearts. Let the tears flow.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Only a true animal lover understands what it's like to lose a faithful, loving, 4-legged companion. Our beautiful female black Lab is 14, and we will sooner, rather than later, be experiencing the same grief you are going through now. God be with you.
I understand my brother, still crying 34 years after (if I start thinking about “Sandy” my Golden) I truly believe we will see them again in Haven🙏🏻😢
RIP Happy!
God bless you and your family !
sorry for your loss! My dog died in 1998 and I still cry my building did not allow dogs after he died. I just subscribed
Sorry for your loss Ted I feel your pain and completely understand they're part of our lives and give us much joy. May Happy rest in peace.
Hi folks,
I was awakened this morning by the songs of many birds that filled the sky.
You have other kids to care for.”
I woke up with 3 of our cats around my head, purring at me and a 4th on my belly. I cried and they comforted me. 😞😞
@@MS-ns2pj Thank you for sharing that dream with me. It is a wonderful thing knowing that our family loves and awaits us.
Happy has a soul !!! Not just a dog , He is always with you Ted !! He watches you from the Rainbow bridge with all of his love ❤️
God spelled backwards is Dog. That can't be just a coincidence. Wishing you healing strength during this difficult time. ❤️
We lost two Great Danes last year. Three months apart. What is it about those precious canines? I will never be able to put into words how much love and joy they gave to our whole family. I think about them almost daily. Sorry for your loss Ted.
I’m so sorry for your loss I loss my dog a month ago I feel your pain brother

I lost my baby girl a month ago. I still can’t put her pen and bed away. Still cry about her loss. I loved her so much❤
He's up in the big hunt sitting by the campfire with Fred. Remembering you as much as you him. Rest easy Ted and smile for the life you shared.
Sorry to hear about your dog Ted, you lost a best friend . You never forget, think of the happy times. I lost my dog a year ago and still think of her and cry. God bless you all 🙏
I'm so sorry for your loss sir, each of my beautiful Alaskan malamutes lived 13 years, faithful , loving & have saved my butt a couple times. 74+🍁 hunter Yorkshire expat. There is Nothing wrong with showing emotion , Tears are words the heart can't say
So sorry Ted and family 😢 Lost Husky named Aspen in 2014 and know there will never be another like her. I pray for the Lord to have our fur babies in heaven with us when we go. God bless 😢😢😢.
I lost my furry buddy last fall after 17 1/2 years. He was out chasing rabbits 🐇 up until just a few days before he passed (of course that is what beagles do). Being on the hunt kept him young, Happy was happy because of being with your family and being on the hunt.
My Wife rescues K9 Furry Kids, we don't Foster them, when they arrive at our house it becomes their Forever Home.
Gosh we have loved and lost so many, it never gets any easier.
Hang in there Ted, our sincerest condolences for the Nugent Family.
God bless.
I'm so sorry for your loss of precious Happy !
They're our Family, and one of the closest Family members we could have !
God Bless you, Shemane and your Family during this painful time !!
TkU all for what you do for our Country !! 🙏🦮💜
Lost my puppers right before the X-mas holiday, definitely one of the hardest things I've been thru. RIP Happy!
Your pets are family. You all are a pack. I feel your loss Ted my prayers are for you and your family . I to also am morning the loss of two of my dogs both passed away this April and they lived a full and beautiful life with me. I adopted them both 7 years ago this April and they were senior dogs adopted from the humane society. I love and miss them everyday.
They are never just a dog. They are part of your family and they are the ones to show true unconditional love. Very sorry for the loss of your family member.
so sorry for your loss.ive been there so many times and it's never easy.been 12 years now since I lost my best freind and I still cry when I think of her.god be with you ted.
It is good to give thanks daily to The Great Spirit!
Ted, they’re never just a dog…they’re family…so very sorry for your heartbreak, but happy you had such a terrific time together.
So sorry for your loss Ted. We lost our Lab two years ago and I still cry when I think of Abby.
I thought I could never go through that again but, I went to a shelter to donate some food and stuff and came home with a rescue dog. She's a Tennessee Brindle named Daisy Mae.
Giving her a forever home has been wonderfully healing for us.
Take care.
Our best friends get real deep in our hearts, even on our worst days they meet us with wagging tails to cheer us up
Lost my last best black lab in '16 Ted and still can't bring myself to try and replace him. I still look at our loveseat and see where his paws roughed the edges of the cushions. His first puppy collar and his last still hang in my garage. I loved him more than I like alot of people. My heart goes out to you and Shemane. Prayers for you both.
Wiping tears out of my eyes brother Ted, I know it's rough man! All the dogs up in heaven right now are saying "well done, good and faithful servant, well done!
No dog is just a DOG. I've been through it, and each one is so special. They love us unconditional and are willing to protect us. All they want is love in return. Wish I were a millionaire I would have a farmland for dogs so many wouldn't be in shelters. God Bless
The grief of losing a loved family member is so painful, no matter how many legs they have. I'm sorry for your loss 💔🙏
I lost my blue heeler last fall, 7 years of fun we had, he loved going places.. I thank God for the time he was here with me. A dog has so much love for you they only live so long because the lord made them that way.. They pack a lifetime of love in a very short time here..
They are our children, our partners in crime, our ride or dies! Not one person in this whole world hasn’t cried for their buddies! I feel your pain!❤❤
God bless you and your family. Sending prayers and love to all of you. Peace be with you all. RIP Happy.
Our animals he ain't just a dog. I feel your pain. We lost ours due to an accident in September and we're still feeling the loss of him. Dogs are special. Bring us life joy, comfort protection and I think their gift from God.
I'm so sorry to hear! They are family and always sorely missed. Our black lab/blue healer lasted 16 1/2 years. The best dog we ever had!
I'm a mom to 1 son and two cats. I've lost other pets and the pain and loss made me want to turn off my heart to other pets. So glad I didn't they bring life to our lives. May God bless you and your family.
I'm so sorry about Happy's passing. It breaks my heart. I had a big mixed breed Saint Bernard back in the late 70s to the 80s. 12 yrs old. Brown w black muzzle. Miss him terribly. He was fearless.
They are more than pets. We loss our 9 pound yorkie 2 years this may, and I still miss him and cry, but I know I will see him again and that he is waiting for us. .
Oh you're making me cry. May Happy RIP. Thanks for being an awesome patriot Mr. Nugent. My condolences to you and your family.
