  • @CosmicMentalityOfficial

    Very well executed. (CaL tech here) you nailed this! Excellent explanations and delivery to further understand these types of sensors/transmitters thanks so much!! my only recommendation is to use a holder around your next for your camera so your both hands are free for more excellent teaching!!! haha cheers and thanks so much!! (volume was also pretty low but putting volume all the way up solves that :D) Thanks again!!

    Why you r not using 250 ohm resistor here to communicate the HART and Tx

    • @bidollamagzam4229
      @bidollamagzam4229 Před 4 měsíci

      Course the fluke got the 250 ohm resistance

    I thought that mA can only be measured over the test terminals without breaking the loop.
    Is it possible to measure in this case since the Fluke is also supplying loop power?

    • @byronvanalstine
      @byronvanalstine  Před 9 měsíci +1

      In this calibration I was measurement measuring with loop power. you could use another meter to measure the test terminal, but that would be redundant.

    Someone trying to learn here so go easy, here in the UK and probably the rest of Europe, insulated crimps are colour coded according to the size of conductor they take, red is up to 1.5mm^2 (16awg), blue is up to 2.5mm^2(14awg) and yellow is up to 6mm^2(10awg) how comes that thermocouple has a red and a blue on it? is it different in the states? are the wires varied sizes? or just the installer used what they had?

    Where is the Rosemont getting its power from? The fluke or the hart?

    • @byronvanalstine
      @byronvanalstine  Před rokem

      you can provide loop power from the fluke like I did in the video or an external source

  • @ramirez509
    @ramirez509 Před 3 lety

    How would you check if electronics are going bad?

    • @byronvanalstine
      @byronvanalstine  Před 3 lety +1

      if you can connect to the transmitter with a hart communicator, chances are your electronics are fine. Try using a pressure source calibrator, input 2psi, connect to your transmitter with the hart and see what the transmitter is reading

    • @ramirez509
      @ramirez509 Před 3 lety

      @@byronvanalstine yeah we're using instrument inspector. Don't understand if this video is about a 3144p temperature transmitter. Not a pressure transmitter.

  • @nickmpogiatziou2133
    @nickmpogiatziou2133 Před 3 lety +5

    I learned a lot from the video tutorial, only confused about, why we connect the multimeter(fluke) in parallel with transmeter when we want to measure amps??? I thought that we connect it in parallel only when we want to measure volts, and in series when we want amps.

    • @praful7789
      @praful7789 Před 3 lety

      It's given fluke calibrator through to given power supply for temperature transmitter.

    • @raphaelmahumane1648
      @raphaelmahumane1648 Před 2 lety +2

      I had the same question but remembered that we are powering the transmitter from Fluke so that we can access its CPU for communication with the HART device.

    How did you know put the yellow wire on 2 ?

    • @byronvanalstine
      @byronvanalstine  Před 3 lety +1

      look under the cap for wiring diagram. thermocouple wire has a standard color code you must look up online. North America, k type thermocouple red is always negative, thus red is positive.

    Instead of a calibration check, do you have an actual calibration video?

    • @angeloperea1833
      @angeloperea1833 Před rokem +1

      These "calibration videos" are notorious for never actually doing a calibration. They just run through the span of a perfectly working trasmitter.
