John Jay was a friend of my family and he used to stay with us when he did his live presentations at the Civic Auditorium in Grand Rapids , Michigan . Wonderful man and a 10th Mountain Division officer , skier and hero .

Tim Baer here, long time NE skier and motorcyclist, great video, great history! At the 3:52 mark, the early snowmobile shown in action at the Tenth Mountain Division training is the Eliason Motor Toboggan manufactured by the Four Wheel Drive Auto Co in Clintonville Wisconsin. The cool thing is That it's powered by an Indian Motorcycle V-Twin engine made in Springfield MA. I've seen a couple in museums but never seen one in action. Thanks

Hey, thank you, I just recognized my father, the guy with Lionel Thomas. My father was the first ski-instructor (French) in Stowe Vermont with the Austrian Sepp Ruschp, in 1936... What a great surprise, thank you!

Forgot how much adults in the 80's hated the 1940s and 1950s for no reason whatsoever.

That music at the start sounded like an anomaly for the 30s. Would that be what the 'colored folk' called 'boogie woogie'? Or, was it something anonymous musicians, lost to history, started to term 'rock n' roll'?
