Aside from the Metallix fight, I think this might've been my favorite new addition because not only does this hint that the Wario Bros will have more significance other than comic relief, but it's a direct throwback to OG Episode 1! For those in the dark, the original Episode 1 of SMBZ had the Mario Bros race the Wario Bros in a Mario Kart Grand Prix that would be interrupted by Bowser. When Episode 1 was remade, the kart race was replaced by a Smash Bros Tournament with items all over the place instead. And this legit caught me by surprise and honestly, having Luigi give Yoshi a Dash Pepper to chase the Wario Bros accompanied by the same Diddy Kong Racing boss music was just amazing to me! Bringing back an old concept and making it feel new again! Plus, the slapstick afterwards was hilarious: The Young Frankenstein jingle playing as we get a closeup of Wario & Waluigi, the Ed, Edd & Eddy sound effects as we get a cartoony fight cloud, and of course, the Wario Bros BLASTING OFF AGAIN!!! Mark Haynes really did a spectacular job with this remake of Episode 2 and I can't wait to see how he handles Sonic & Shadow's backstory for Episode 3 and then the Koopa Bros in Episode 4!
The Wario Bros were actually in the OG Intro for SMBZ at the end with Mario and Co. Which leads me to Believe there will be a Team up with them and the Wario Bros at one point. My Guess? OG Episode 9 left us with Shadow about to fight Mecha Sonic (or Metallix as He’s now called in the Reboot) in a Desert Land while Mario was about to fight Captain Basillix (AGAIN) This time with Luigi Tagging in. And Considering Wario and Waluigi still had the Emerald Radar on their person,I think the Radar will probably lead them to where Shadow and Metallix are,and They’ll eventually get caught in the crossfire while trying to sneak their way towards the Chaos Emerald that may be around there. Shadow will convince them to Help Him take Metallix Down and It’ll all end with The Wario Bros Knocked down and Shadow being Choked out by Metallix demanding to Know where Sonic and the Gang are,Along with the Remaining Emeralds they have.
Maybe there could be a Scene where Wario and Waluigi head to E.Gadd’s Lab to FORCE Him to Make another Emerald Radar or something,I mean..They know who He is considering they Had E.Gadd Branded Coin-Suction Machines in Mario Party 7. So maybe That’s how they could get another Emerald Radar.
How did it escalate from a funny 2v2 battle to a bloodthirsty robot that looks like something from Dragon Ball beating up a cartoonish dinosaur so quickly?
