  • Richard Forysth - 1996 - 99
Richard Forsyth made a name for himself as a goalscoring midfielder with Kidderminster Harriers, scoring 71 goals in 300 games between 1987 and 1995. Such form eventually led to Barry Fry signing him for Birmingham City. Due to a large squad at St Andrews his opportunities were limited and he joined Stoke the following summer in a £200,000 deal. He was tasked with filling the goalscoring boots left behind by Nigel Gleghorn and didn't disappoint. He hit 8 goals in each of his first two seasons, including the first ever league goal at the Britannia Stadium (scored in a 1-2 defeat to Swindon Town). After our relegation in 1998 he eventually moved onto Blackpool, Peterborough United and Cheltenham Town.
