    I actually went to church yesterday after feeling better for weeks. Its been so hard to get there because the pain recently so I was so happy to be there, but my body started flaring in the middle of service so bad!! I know its tms, and my brain wants me home in bed doing NOTHING, but I am going again next week and I will teach my brain that it is ok to do the things I like and I am safe.

    Hey Dan! Firstly, I would like to thank you for everything you do for us. I am 3-4 weeks into my TMS recovery journey. I can definitely tell that I've made much progress. I know and believe that TMS is the ONLY thing happening. I have gotten much better at not giving it attention or fear. However, regarding the messages of safety, I noticed that if I self-talk too much, sometimes my brain can try to counter my positive thinking. But from what I'm hearing, you are saying to live our lives, as well as create positive thoughts and expectations?

      I guess my approach is to make the positive expectations the dominant thought. We cannot stop or fix every negative fearful thought, but we don't have to listen to them.

    Thank you so much for your daily videos, they are really helpful at reminding me this TMS thing is REAL.
    I am a 30 yo guy suffering from Long Covid since i was 27. I feel TMS approach has been the most helpful, at first i was skeptical but the more i read the more i got convinced long covid is a form of TMS for many. Hopefully i will be fully healed soon, the trend is really positive since i discovered TMS from Sarno's and Alan Gordon's books, and your videos as well has been really really helpful.

      Perfect. Yes, this approach of teaching your brain safety and that your body is already perfectly okay has been helping many who are told they have this thing called "long covid". In my opinion, "long covid" is just a response to the brain perceiving danger.

      ​@@PainFreeYou Yes thanks Dan, i was already stuck in this fight or flight way before Covid without even knowing it. I just thought everybody was always that tense.
      Thinking back, i am pretty sure i had been suffering from TMS since i was 18.. it started suddenly with a sharp tension pain in my stomach one day and never left me for 6-7 years, then it went away and i had other symptoms developed, but they weren't as severe as they became after covid.
      Since discovering TMS and mind/body connection i improved 60/70% within a few days with some up and down, with some days feeling 90% better.
      The less i fight this problem, the better i feel, but i also have to implement other things such as meditation, affirmations, visualization and somatic tracking.
      Passive acceptance might not be enough for my case (i was really severe, 1.5 years in bed due to fatigue and brain fog/dissociation, tinnitus and nervous system overdrive in general 20+ symptoms mostly neurological)

    I love the idea of talking out loud to your brain! I did this when I went back to school at 41, I was having a hard time studying and retaining the information that I needed. I asked my son who was in college at the time, for any tips to get me to retain my studies. He suggested studying out loud. It worked!

    Hey Dan! Your videos are so helpful! One thing that I have done is started working at a counseling internship after years of being at home due to fibromyalgia. One think I have noticed is that days that I’m at work, my symptoms at 80% better than when I’m at home! It totally makes me believe in tms

      That is fantastic, but not surprising. When you are engaged in the outside world, the brain perceives you are safe. The goal is to give your symptoms as little attention as they get when you are working.

    Great video Dan! Talking to Mrs Brain with instructions I was doing but not as detail as you did on the video I will start doing that now! Group Coaching is the best I was so scared to join but it is such a loving and supportive group of people you’ll ever meet plus you can ask Dan lots of questions as there are 4 Coaching Calls a week! Best thing I ever did! ❤️

      I'm not sure we need to welcome our symptoms, but being consistently unconcerned by them will teach the brain safety. Accurate knowledge of what is going on helps to dial down the fear.

      @@ezza1236 It's a message of safety. Always a good thing. Many get angry with their brain when they realize TMS/PDP means their brain is creating the pain/symptoms.

    For me I cannot return to daily activities. What I don't understand is that most are in pain here like me - but how come they sleep at night? I am so tired from sleep deprivation I can hardly do anything. Thanks Dan for your videos.

    I'm suffering since 2011 after a trauma from Anxiety Panic attacks asthma allergies infections eczema depersonalization depersonalization pain back injuries sciatica weakness in my legs pain in my legs. It can be TMS?

      TMS is more narrowly defined as pain caused by emotional/stress events. I expand the definition to symptoms created by the brain perceiving danger. Your situation absolutely fits my definition.       @@PainFreeYou Sometimes I don't feel afraid for a while and then my mood changes, though. So how will I know my mood won't suddenly change to one of fear again?
      I've never been fully symptom free, though, so I will probably just "know when I get there"!

    Thanks for great video. I think whats keeping me most from being able to convince my brain nothing wrong with me is that the back pain started when lifting something heavy coupled with mri result. Pleasr How do i help convince my brain that none of that is the reason?

      Take the pain test. TMS pain behaves much differently than "structural" pain. Plus, the body heals. YourPainTest.com - a score of 30 or more means your brain is creating the pain based on perceived danger. Once you have that assessment, you will need to make a decision to accept TMS/Perceived Danger as the cause, and therefore nothing is wrong with your body.
      Sometimes an acute onset of TMS/PDP feels an awful lot like an injury. This video explains my take on it. I had MANY acute onsets of pain over my 13 years with back pain. It was never an injury. Sarno himself said that the MRI results just show normal abnormalities and NOT the cause of the pain. Take the pain test and watch the video below.

    Thank You Dan, do you have any experience with neuropathic pain? Been checked out by a major well known hospital and they called it neuropathic. I am well versed in neuroplastic pain and am convinced that it is. This is based on the pain arising during a series of stressful events. I am wondering if you had success. Thank You. I am new to your channel and look forward to other videos!

    ❤ you know. This is what you meant the other day. I said as I’m living my symptoms are jumping high. And I’m like 😮 . Maybe just more self talk with compassion . And making better associations when things are hard. “This is so easy “
    There is a woman who says this stuff is not enough. It’s just talking . The body can’t feel safe with just talk. She’s a believer of somatics. Funny thing , when I look at that stuff it’s just more shit.
    And confusing to people

    Hi, Dan. I have heard of such practise like some level of “hypsosis“ with psychotherapist when patient is lying down and psychotherapist is talking. What do you think about this or similar practises with psychotherapist in order to make subconscious mind work on good information again?

      That relies on the other person understanding this concept and applying it correctly. This is an inside job and one we can and likely need to do for ourselves. Focus there.

    What does TMS stand for? I browsed several videos, but didn't see it or heard it spelled out (maybe it is but there's a ton of info).
    Also, is this (what you are talking about in your videos) just for pain? I don't have pain, I have severe, crippling fatigue (severe ME/CFS), so I wanted to know before I continue watching your daily videos. Thank you! 😊 I can't go do normal activities (or much at all), as you suggest in some videos, to "forget" the fatigue, as this puts me into horrible crashes for weeks.

      TMS is classically defined by a Dr. John Sarno as Tension Myositis Syndrome. My expanded definition is pain or other symptoms that are created by a brain that is perceiving danger. Fatigue is a very common symptom and responds quite well to my approach of teaching the brain we are safe. A great place to learn more is my getting started page. Go through the resources here.       You don't want to go based on my experience. I made every mistake possible for 12 years before I accidentally got it. I couldn't even tell you how long it took because I didn't know I got it till the pain went away. And, I definitely couldn't have told you way back then exactly what I did to end my pain.
      More appropriately, my coaching clients are seeing mindset shifts in weeks and symptom shifts in months. Some get better much faster than others due to their history and ability to dial down the fear and attention given to the symptoms. There is no specified amount of time. We are all different. You will get well when you have successfully neutralized the fear.

      We CAN use our conscious to TEACH the subconscious the fear is unnecessary because we are not truly in danger. This video you commented on shares how to do this with proactive messages that we are okay. If done consistently, the subconscious eventually learns.

      @@margaretmicherda6136 Often the fear is based on misinformation as well. When you really learn what is going on, that knowledge can dial down the fear. We don't have to "get to the fear". We can simply eliminate the fear by learning what is actually going on. Perceived danger is the cause of the vast majority of symptoms.
