I do not know why he is not as popular as the other contemporary country singers in the world who are not as good as him. I guess, it is because he has the best baritone voice, and his songs are very melodious in the country and Western genres. The lyrics of the songs are soothing and meaningful, to say the least. In Africa, Don Williams is the biggest country artist ever, ok, in Zimbabwe, Don Williams was bigger than Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton combined. When he held his shows, the country stood still, police escorts and all the kitchen toys.
Oh we loved and sang along to every song that he sang, he was shocked by how much we loved and knew his music. Obviously, like all his shows, he didn't like requests, but, this was Africa, the pestered for My best friend

But in most forms of music I am noticing that the older artists are not getting the love that they used to.
When I was a kid I listened to R&B and the radio station played new songs and classic soul songs as well. It was the same for country. I got my love for Don Williams on a Hot Country station.
I have been listening to the song ever since I was a little boy this music makes my life flow thanks

I would like to think that if he were still with us that he wouldn’t allow cell phones in his concert. I remember he didn’t like dancing so the phone thing seems about right.
I don’t understand why somebody would pay money for a concert and spend it holding up a phone instead of just enjoying the show. I have a big TV and won’t watch a concert on my phone.
