Great video ! I bought a rv that had sat for many years; no battery so the fuse blew when I tried to move the slide. Got a battery and it works fine. Thanks !!!

A video on batteries would be great. Mine are coming up on 4 yrs old, been thinking of replacing, surly at some point they’ll stop taking a charge. I alway use FHU, wonder if it’s better to level and pull slides out or in (hydraulic) before or after plugged in. Thanks for all the info you continue to provide.

The Battery is really Nice if the Power goes out in a Bad storm. They don't last forever, but it gives You lights for a short time in a bad storm.

I'm a new tech, been in the rv manufacturing industry for a few years and just recently became and rv tech. Also just recently our shop went from hourly to FLAT RATE. Trying to gain as much knowledge as possible "time is money". Appreciate your in depth details and pointers. Love the "fluke" and graphing done here, bet warranty would also LOVE it. Curious as to how it's transmitted wirelessly. Where do you plug Into the unit in order to get the info/graphing sent to your laptop???

Thank you for the info. Our 2020 rv slide-out would blow fuse at the end fully extended or fully retracted. The service department put a self reset fuse in and that worked but must be something going on there. Auburn, WA.

Thanks for the video Darren. I have a 2018 Jayco Redhawk with a Power Gear/Lippert slide-out. The problem I am having is when I extend the slide to the full out position the 25A fuse blows, but when i retract the slide the fuse dose not blow and I can hear the motor disengage from driving the slide. I do not hear the motor disengage when reaching the stop when extending.

I have a 2014 forest sierra. There’s 5 slides . 2 slide in (small slides ) 2 of the big slides would come in , the biggest one wouldn’t go out far enough or come in at all. The lights flickered the last time I tried and now all 3 won’t move . After watching ur video . I don’t have a battery . If I fried the converter will putting a battery in still pull the slides in ? Or is there a way I can crank them in Thank you . For any info . It’s not mine , I sold it for my aunt that moved and I’m trying my best to fix it

  • @awrude76

Thanks for the video. I have a 2007 29’ Keystone camper. As soon as I hook the battery up, it blows the fuse for the slide. Would this be a battery issue?

Hey Neighbor!! I'm over in Post Falls (Coeur d'Alene) area! My mom is out camping in Kingston in a Sunset Trails camper and she can't get her slide to work at all. I've been doing some research to try to help her with it, can you possibly show where the fuses are located and are they just your average fuse like I would have in my vehicle or bigger ones?

I have a rack and pinion type of slide on a fifth wheel trailer. The front smaller slide will often not activate when pushing the rocker switch but sometimes it will, so it is an intermittent problem. When it does activate it will continue on and complete its travel without resistance. So far I have been able to overcome a stalled slide by either, 1)rocking the wall switch back and forth several times rapidly, 2) hooking up to shore power, 3) using my portable generator to the shore power outlet. Again once the slide starts in any one of these power modes it continues on normally. It feels like it just doesn't have enough power to get started but only sometime. I am sure to get stuck sometime soon when nothing will work. What should be my diagnostic routine and fix? Many thanks for any help.

I'm having problems getting the slides in-and-out with the generator. Right when I go to hit the button it goes mirror and then shuts the generator off and kicks the 30th breaker on the generator off but. When I plug it into power like to the house? I have no problems with the slide going in and out
