I appreciate this video! I'm making my first Lyra and was stuck at the button plackets. Thanks for showing how to do those so clearly!

Hi! Lovely video (as per usual;). You completely inspired me to make this dress in a cotton lawn as well. Got the pattern, got the fabric. The cotton lawn that I bought is only 42" wide and the directions say that the midi style won't fit on 45" fabric. I know you modified yours to not have a tier. My question is do you happen to remember how many yards you ordered if your fabric was 45" or less to make the midi and did eliminating the tier help to fit the pattern to cut? Thanks so much! Appreciate the content.

Thank you and great question! Let's see--what did I do...I had 4 yards available when I made that dress, and still had some leftover. To solve the tier issue on this dress, but still have length, I lengthened the "Lyra Skirt, Cut 2 on fold" pattern piece by about 9"/22cm. Not doing the tier helped for sure. The skirt pattern piece is just under 17" across for size 3, and 16" for size 2. Should be fine! I can offer that the dress is very roomy and boxy around the waist, and carries on down into the skirt. 😁**I hope this help and is not too much info--so hard to explain!

@@cleow Thank you for the details!! I'm especially impressed that you remember all of that, I know this project was awhile ago. You made me feel a lot better about having enough fabric for this dress. I also ordered four yards, so I should be good. Thanks again! I hope you have a lovely weekend.

@@katielarosee9571 I wish my memory was that good! I pulled out the pattern to remind myself. 😁✨

What was the liquid you used on the button holes?
