The katamari series has 2 games during the PS2 era. Katamari Reroll is a remake of the 1st PS2 game, and in this direct we got the remake of the 2nd PS2 game, We Love Katamari. They were a bit confusing by offering NSO for the *1st remake, but We Love Katamari is indeed a whole new game. Different soundtrack too, I loved WLK's OST!
Very pleasantly surprised to see brand new tracks being made for MK8 again, and the Yoshi's Island one in the YI artstyle looks absolutely gorgeous. I was kind of worried the Booster Course Pass was going to be entirely retro tracks. Don't get me wrong, I like how they look. But the Tour tracks have been hit or miss for me, and these are largely tracks I've played for years. I wanted some new surprises and it looks like they're on the way.
The Gameboy was the first console I owned, so to see it now on the Switch gives me great joy and hope that other GB games that I have nostalgia for(looking at you Pokémon) comes to the NSO.
Metroid Prime Remastered and Pikmin 4 were my favorite games shown, but I'm also happy to see Advance Wars get a release date. I'm excited for Tears of the Kingdom, but the trailer didn't really reveal anything new about the game.
This was a pretty great direct, but crazily, the return of Ghost Trick was what I was the most excited for....and its kind of a shame that no many are batting an eye at it. I REALLY think it deserves a chance. Also I learned an interesting factoid, turns out the reason Mother 3 hasn't been rereleased is because shockingly, it wasn't very well liked in Japan. So knowing that, I believe they're never gonna do it.
Metroid, Kirby, GBA Online, Katamari, Mario Kart, and Zelda were my highlights of the direct. Already this was a massive improvement from the last one.
Gonna say this now, put Ghost Trick on your radar. It is legit one of my favorite games period & having it no longer be locked to the original DS & phones feels AMAZING to see. Also it's a standalone game written by the same guy behind Ace Attorney so you know the charm & character work is gonna be GOOD
Getting tales of symphonia, but I hope they make a kid icarus uprising remaster for the switch (even though it'll be very different compared to the 3ds version)
This Direct was good I usually don't get hyped a lot in newer installments but, Pikmin 4 looks really good I already 100% Prime as it's my favorite game of all time, Bayonetta I'm keeping my eye on, I'm glad to see GB and GBA games come to switch, and Kirby looks pretty cool to that'll be a maybe. and that's all I was pretty happy about. Good video CJ
As probably the most big fan of Monolith Soft,I was only thinking about the expansion of Xenoblade 3 that was all I thought even after it was all over alongside Namco remembering Baten Kaitos which gives me hope that them and harada change their mind about a Xenosaga collection since they didn't consider as profitable yet remembered Klonoa & now Baten Kaitos, so yeah those are definitely on my radar and hope it leads to Nintendo remastering the other 2 operation rainfall games and the other Monolith titles like Diaster Days of Crisis & Soma Bringer especially as someone that wants to play them myself
Etrian Odyssey Collection is what im very much looking forward to! always wanted to tackle this series but those ds carts were not cheap, especially the 3rd game new difficulty modes are also nice
Questions 1) Do you really have to be this cautious about copyright claims when so many people have uploaded reaction videos to the Direct and have been mostly fine? 2) Why is online multiplayer a deal-breaker for you? I’ve definitely been aware of it for almost as long as I’ve been watching you (been subscribed for over a decade now, geez), but I don’t think you ever said why. 3) Couldn’t you have just skipped over most of the stuff that wasn’t on your radar? I mean, I doubt anyone is losing sleep over what CJ’s thoughts are on Fashion Dreamer. lol Anyways, good video. Glad to see you making an effort to cover Direct again.
Kirby is a day one purchase for me. I love Return to Dream Land, and having an even better version on the Switch is all I need. I also bought Prime Remastered twice, both physical and digital, because I adore Prime 1 and I couldn't control myself.
Splatoon 3 DLC I will more than likely get when I’m able to add more funds to my eShop account I enjoyed my time with the first Katamari remake and the new one seems to have some added bells and whistles GBA may actually convince me to get the Expansion Pass and if I get the Booster Course Pass with it, that’s a bonus. Might give it an extra couple of months though to see what else gets added cause yeah, I’d also like to see the Sonic Advance trilogy
I'm kinda surprised that whenever people talk about Illusion Island, no one ever brings up how this is pretty much a third Rayman Origins. Like, seriously, this is clearly Disney trying to pay homage to that.
Octopath Traveler II is absolutely a day one purchase for me. Played all 8 demo prologues and enjoyed it from start to... start. Not quite sure I get your issue with the static cutscenes, tho thats likely because I have rpg games as my lifeblood so I'm always used to longer cutscenes. These kind of games kinda try to hold a hefty balance of gameplay and story nowadays. The gameplay definitely opens up a LOT more once you get access to subjobs, allowing for some fun class synergies (shoutout to Octopath 1 Runeblade Tressa effectively shutting down any normal/physical skill attacks against the ENTIRE party). Unfortunately as far as the demo goes, access to subjobs is likely in areas just beyond the boundaries of what can be explored in the demo if its like Octopath I so cant see subjobs here
I dropped out a long time ago. Awakening was my last Fire Emblem game and while it was great the series started releasing more and more and it was hard to keep up with.
If I can't pet the dog I'm tipping something over

Bro this is a really well made video
A high 7/10. Didn't have many surprises, but it left me satisfied.

Pretty cool stuff, I love Golden Sun being an upcoming game, and yet... still no Bomberman on NSO
I was glad to be a part of this
When it comes to the Katamari game, it’s a port/remaster of We ❤️ Katamari along with its DLC. It’s the much beloved sequel to Katamari Damacy.
I'm still amazed the GBA Online held up so well when we got that Super Circuit footage.

Samba de Amigo was actually one of my first ever games, so this new entry was a highlight for me.
Ghost Trick, now I don't have to get it on Ebay for $100; and yes, that is the lowest I could find
We Love Katamari, Raincode, and Samba de Amigo all sound great

And it's been adding more Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition content since last year.

We love Katamari Royal Reverie is a remake to the sequel of Katamari on PS2
Royal Reverie is an extra mode

Funny enough I have never played prime or fusion so this will be fun to play and I will get the physical version of prime

Since Rex is grown up, does that mean Nia’s legal now?
8:56 I got pretty mad when you gave your rating to this game
But in a fun way.
About having Pokémon on NSO GB, if you wanted Gen 1 and 2, why not ask for gen 3, including FRLG, for NSO GBA?
Those would be great too, but gen 1 and gen 2 are basically NEEDED to make the Stadium games enjoyable.
So… not a big fan of Fire Emblem?
I dropped out a long time ago. Awakening was my last Fire Emblem game and while it was great the series started releasing more and more and it was hard to keep up with.
@@cjszero01 Yeah, Fire Emblem was good in Melee, now FE turned Super Smash Bros into an Anime. Guys just want to date Fire Emblem Girls.
The only thing that I care about is the direct is the Game Boy stuff and Mario Kart because everything else in this direct is just bad.
