This is a great and fair review. I appreciate your perspectives and the pros and cons. I would love to see a video of the different playgrounds at the resorts or at least a reel of which resorts have playgrounds and which ones do not.

We are going in a week
We just stayed at the Caribbean Beach 05/02-05/05 and would defiantly stay there again, we had an updated Mermaid room in the Trinidad section. The food was good and my daughter loved the main pools with slides not to mention you can watch the fireworks from the pool. You are correct the food at Riveria is better.

They are actually doing a light refresh on the rooms now. Martinique is done, Jamaica is being worked on now. New paint, floors, curtains, and the beds are now raised so you can store luggage under them. Hopefully they are checking to make sure the plugs and stuff like that are working

I saw another blogger put a review up the other day showing the updated rooms - a little mermaid 5th sleeper it looked absolutely beautiful!!

I love that you were so honest in this review! We have rented DVC points for years. We usually stay deluxe and are admitted Disney hotel snobs. Our stay here pretty much solidified that. I agree with pop century being a better choice as far as the updates in the room. The kids loved the splash pad and skyliner access is 👌🏼 But dark and dungeony nailed it!
Why they made a beachy resort feel so dark on the inside makes no sense to me. 🤷🏻♀️

You walking around reminds me of the videos Christy Carlson Ramano was doing.
We stayed her last year and we enjoyed it a lot. Doing the Bus system first thing in the morning was not as much fun. People tend to show up last minute and push in front of those that waited for a long time. That's more of a complaint on people more than the system itself lol
Thank you for this review! Can you do another and stay at the 5th sleeper? They have been updated and I would LOVE your take on those updated rooms! We have a trip in November, and now I’m a bit nervous! 😂😅 We have a 5th sleeper tho (pool or water view!)
Oh! And if you do this, I would love to know how far away these buildings are from the main pool, sky-liner, etc! We stayed at the mermaid at AOA last year and that wasn’t too bad IMO.
Great video Ashley!!!!! We stayed at Caribbean beach before a Disney cruise while Rivera was being built and it was nice but not our favorite either!🦀🐚🐟🐬🌊
Staying here in the fall- can’t wait for easy transportation, fun pools and playground (WITH SHADE!!!) for my toddlers. We definitely plan on using Riviera for quick service food and coffee and hopefully a res at Topolinos 🤞🏼

is pop century better for a single person? Do I have a better chance to get a room near the main lobby in pop or near the skyliner
Quick question we’re booked to stay here in September. Are we able to call now to put in a request to get a ground level room and which specific area you want? Or do we have to wait till we get there to check in?
Do you think a pack n play could fit in the vanity portion of the bathroom and still have access to toliet/shower if needed? Thinking naps and night time sleep.
Yes! A pack and play could definitely fit in that space and still be usable.
Another question.. is Trinidad the furthest away from skyliner?
Depending on the building in that section yes you would be one of the further away sections. You are talking a 3-5 minute difference though so not terrible.

Question... is it possible to take the skyliner to Epcot, then get on the MK monorail to MK?
Yes and no. You can take the Skyliner to Epcot but you would need a park pass to enter the park, walk through the park since you would have to enter at International Gateway instead of the main park entrance and then head over to Magic. It would be more complicated than helpful in most cases.

We haven’t stayed Riverside but want to so bad especially in the Princess Rooms! 😍
