Walking Tour: Primošten, Croatia - 4K UHD Virtual Travel

Primošten is yet another Dalmatian jewel - located in the central part of Croatian Adriatic coast between towns of Šibenik and Trogir. It is especially famous for its vineyards and quality vines. It has a very characteristic look as its historic core was built on a small hilly island which was connected to the mainland by a draw bridge. The bridge, together with the walls and towers, was a part of defense system against the Ottoman invasions in the 15th and 16th century. Later the bridge was replaced with a causeway but the name Primošten, which refers to Croatian word "most" (the bridge) stayed. The small island of historical Primošten has a very typical Dalmatian layout with stone houses and narrow streets which protect inhabitants against the summer heat and strong Adriatic wind called "bura". On the top of the hill is the parish church of St. George, built in the 15th century. Right next to the church is a small graveyard with a spectacular view of the sea and surrounding islands.
