@@jacobhorton761 this shunt can handle a battery capacity of 1-6500ah and a voltage range of 8-60V. As long as your batteries are wired correctly, it will have no problem reading multiple batteries in series or parallel. This question is also answered in the fact section of the online manual on page 26.
You do a great job on your videos. I have been running this shunt since it was launched and I have to say that it has been a horrible experience. I have gone back and forth with Renogy trying to figure out the issues and they continue to send me “canned” replies that simply say to reference the manual. I am not an idiot and I can read so this has been very frustrating. My issues are as follows: 1. The shunt continues to drop its connection with my Renogy system. I am running a Renogy DCDC w/solar 30a, a Renogy 100ah smart battery, all connected to the Renogy Bluetooth hub. 2. I have to power down the entire system to get the shunt to work again. It gets stuck on a reading and displays static information in the app that is outdated and resetting is the only way to get it working again. 3. The alarms are useless. The shunt (when it’s working) simply beeps and sends no push notification to the DC Home app telling me that there is an issue. The app doesn’t even show an alarm on the shunt icon within the app. You have to physically press the icon to launch the shunt screen within the app to see that there is an alarm. Again, this is useless for someone like me who has the system built into my truck’s canopy and I can’t hear the low beeping that an alarm has triggered. Renogy’s technical support is useless if you want any feedback other than, “please refer to the manual and follow the instructions.” I even asked them to warranty my unit and never heard back. I ended up selling my original 500A shunt with screen that you have been using when I bought the Smart Shunt because I figured I wouldn’t need it. It was a mistake and ended up costing me more money for useless technology. I am curious to know how your shunt works for you over the next few weeks.
Yeah so this is one of the reasons why I don’t have the Renogy One Core installed and I also mention this is the video. Their Bluetooth system isn’t the best. I find that their components don’t stay connected to each other very well. I prefer to only use my phone and connect to one component at a time, the battery being the best. If you don’t have a BT battery then connecting to this shunt would be the best alternative. I find the shunt to have a pretty reliable connection to my iPhone so far. I’m guessing that one of your settings within the app might be incorrect which is causing the beeping? I also think you might have to subscribe to their service to receive notifications but this would require an internet connection.
@@madetoexplore Agree, I have various Renogy components, the products are great, but the Bluetooth is terrible, Renogy need to fix these Bluetooth issues because the competitors have worked this out so Renogy is losing sales to Victron etc for Bluetooth connectivity.

This video is perfect timing.
Need a new one for my trawler for my house batteries.
Awesome! Good luck with the install
Fabulous review! thanks..
Welcome!
If you have a battery bank, do you want one directly connected to each battery? Or one for the entire bank.
@@randypierce2264 only one for the entire bank
@@madetoexplore thank you. Just wanted to be certain.
@@madetoexplore I called Renogy and they said you need one for each battery. Are you sure it will work while only connected to one of them in the ban?

Is this not bidirectional ? Telling you charge or discharge, or you mean the readings will be backwards if you hooked it up backwards ?
Yes it will show you both amps charged and discharged. If you install the shunt backwards, it won’t work correctly.
Hard to see in the video, but did the app have a amps discharge and charge line?
Yes it will show the amount charged and discharged. In the present it will show you the difference depending if your charging more or discharging more

Did you ever have the red and amber flashing light at start up? Can’t seem to get a steady light as shown by others during start up.
