That intro was amazing dude.
Ross thanks so much!
Love the recognition of the talents of other players Tim. Your enthusiasm and sheer joy while decoding things for us mere mortals is always a takeaway for me.
I love how humble you are even though your playing is second to none. Beautiful execution!
Tim, youâre one of a few truly amazing guitarists. Your playing in the opening of this video is the best that Iâve heard you do.
Beautiful
Youâre the freaking best Tim! Youâre one of my favorite players Iâve learned a lot from your channel⊠which Iâm addicted to đđ€Łđ keep those videos coming! Mateos Asato is amazing by the way⊠Iâve been playing and performing for 30 years his stuff is unbelievable and untouchable.. but I love to watch him play! Thank you for awesome content!â€ïžđ
Thank you for having him on your show to start with. That second double stop riff is really nice.
It's good to hear a pro say that someone else's playing is out of his (or her) technical reach. Asato is great at what he does, he's got a personal and very expressive... expression. I'll never come even close, but I have been using some of those short and fast slides that I've seen him do. If you can borrow from anyone, just do it.
Just watching him play is a joy in and of itself đđœđđœđđœ
you are both wonderful. thank you for all your insight and guitar wisdom
thanks for visiting our planet once again Tim.
Any time!
Love this Tim!
Wonderful Tim love it all man
Youâre an incredible guitarist. His chord lead movements are very unique and epic
You always teach me something! Fantastic channel!
You're a great guitar player with out having to play like Mateus !
Glad I found you through Rick Beato's video. GREAT STUFF MAN! The gear, the sounds, the skill, the enthusiasm, the musicality. Wow!
you are amazing!đđ
Love the way you play, Tim!!
Brilliant Stuff Mr. Tim!!!!
Your June 2, 2022 interview on Rick Beato's channel brought me here. đ Great interview!
I try to take something from each influence, usually a feel or sense of melody and hope it pans out into something that might be enjoyable. Can;'t wait to watch this video.
Tim, youâve given some of us a fighting chance to do what Matteo does, thank you. You have the best guitar channel on the tube.
Much respect Tim...
Tim, I admire your candor, not to mention your ability. You could dedicate an entire show on playing what one can play within their current ability & taste. With all of the skill sets we need as guitarists I wouldn't expect the young Jimi Hendrix to play classical guitar, although, I wouldn't have put it past an older Hendrix (he was always learning). Great episode, Cheers!
Amazing! đ One of my favs of M. Asato is "Bluesy Wednesday". When I heard that... â€ïž #1ïž đ & đ
Love this! My mantra is isolate and repeat. Work on what you can and build on that. Mateus is certainly a monster, but so are you! Enjoy the day! Great lesson here as always!
Tim Musicality and chops are amazing!
Very cool Tim. Got me a day off today.
Thanks man.
Thanks for the excellent video.
Dois gigantes â€ïž
I really like your crib. Very lean, straight forward and dedicated. Inside out.
What an ingenius invention. Yea tim! Thanks
Tim, youâre a total legend , Sir!
That is a very cool pedal. Great video, as always, Tim.
Yes, Iâd settle for Timâs brilliant and expansive vocabulary and flawless technique!
Great tips Tim, thanks! I'm looking forward to the Tim Pierce pedal that automatically makes me play as well as he does.
Another great and valuable nugget from Tim! I may prefer Timâs slightly slower version. Mixed with Timâs own great voicings I hear something more appealing to my ear.
So good!! Tim, you are the man!!!
Thanks so much!
Wow Tim... unbelievable....
YAY!!!
who rang the bell for this video!? Love Mateus. Buddy Rich said the best thieves are the ones that don't stealing. Vinnie said once hip always hip. Love the videos Tim! I'm a drummer and can't get enough of your content.
I've always thought Matteo has some really cool doublestops. Super melodic stuff.
for someone who came up with and played one of the most iconic solos from the 80s. (Bon Jovi's runaway) .... you are a very humble man. Yes , I learn from many players but you are definitely one of the best out there in your own right!
Tim, most of us are still on the lifelong journey of learning from Tim Pierce, so you don't need to defer to Mateus - amazing that he is - because you, sir are one of the greatest of our time and my generation!
And one of the most humble I know. THAT makes you even greater.
J.
Wow, thank you!
Nice one! Thank you, Tim.
Glad you enjoyed it
I knew of Mateus the guitarist from Rick Beato's Channel, where i also learned of Tim's Channel. All sturdy branches on The Beato Learning Tree of which there are many.
I knew of Mateus the wine from the early '70s when my Uncle brought it to Thanksgiving dinner. đ
I mostly like hearing your playing. Rick Beato had a nice interview with this cat.
"Just when you think you can play guitar, look who shows up" Tim Pierce talking about Mateus on Rick Beato's ig post today. Thank you for this lesson Mr. Pierce! đ€đđ€
I would love to see you discuss riffs from Steve Rothery from Marillion. He is outstanding and very rhythmic.
Well thatâs one of the coolest pedal ever!
Wow! Mateus is so good, heâs SCARY!
That Vidami blue pedal is pretty cool.
Mateus is a monster!!
That pedal looks pretty cool. Sure beats the old days of play the cassette and rewinding.
THIS is what I LEARNED from Tim Pierce
0:47 Kids, take note. Tim is confident and secure enough in his own self that he is not afraid to be vulnerable. What makes Tim a fantastic musician, session player and teacher is his lack of ego. Heâs always in the moment, in service to the song and to others. This is how to live. Thank you Tim!
I like the second riff at the slower tempo.
I agree .Some players play too fast and the melody is lost.
You got some Hendrix in your Asato :) Like you said, sometimes things just becomes part of the vocabulary.
I would say keep practising some day you'll get there. đ
BROODLE!!!! đ€â€đ€
I've owned the original Vidami since it was first released..... what a great tool. It must be about time to upgrade to the new Bluetooth model!
Always amazing to watch and listen to you â€ïž
Great advice Tim, I learned how to build a fire with guitars from the young fellađđ his hybrid picking is lightning. Thanks for your time and tips. đđ„Respect to you mate.
All is possible with practice! Sounding good Tim!!
In the heat of the moment Iâm sure you can increase you speed on that last riff
It takes a certain kind of man to say "I can't do that". Love you, brother.
I recently noticed - if Wikipedia is not wrong, lol - you played the guitar parts on Just Around The Corner by Cock Robin. Seems kind of strange song to me, don't know why, but wonderful and favorite of mine. Anything to share about contributing to that song/album?
Oh oh oh. The riff I really like is yours at 0:12-0:14. You never cease to amaze me! BtwâŠred California poppies 2:58. Good for your yard in a small spot. đ
It is not impossible to play like Mateus. However, the world does not need another one, there is already one Mateus. But there is definitely something to drawing inspiration from other guitar players!
Music is alive when played on Guitar
Learn something new every day.
Awesome! Check Lari Basilio too.
Mateus is the Hendrix of this 2010s and 2020s. He should be the Modern Hendrix đžđžđ€đ€đžđžđ€đ€đčđč
Tim check out max ostro, matteo mancuso and manuel gardner fernandes. Great talented young guitar player's. The 4 m's the future.
I donât care about playing like Matteoâs , I want to play like Tim Pierce. lol I know you can learn a little something from everyone but you, Tom Bukovac and Guthrie Trappe give me enough to work on.
Funny, my thoughts exactly. I once said that of all the musicians I know (With the possible exception of Peter Frampton, (Maybe)) I would most like to sound like Tim.
I agree
Tim pierce >> matteĂłs
You're missing what makes Tim good, he hears something he likes and wants to understand it wherever it comes from and incorporate it into his playing. I love Guthrie, Tom and Jack Ruch's playing and I'm sure they all take stuff from multiple sources, it's how you use it so that it becomes yours.
Tim Pierce - "That's the way
Me - "This is the way"
Just from that intro: That level of knowledge and 'muscle memory' are impossibilities for me. Just not going to happen. I find it astounding. And, honestly, i think Tim played it better. There's an 'easy poetry' in it.
internet love brother tim
im a jimmy page ace frehley slop player . stub fingers lol wish i could play like that
Sounds great but we need songs! Thank God for VH!!!!
Itâs very technical and creative but nothing I would want to sit down and listen to.
Attainable- I try to explain this concept to students constantly. âDude- you canât play the solo to Hotel California, if you canât play a Bm chord!â
Hopefully I'll be as good as Tim someday!!!! đ„â„ïžđŻđ€
Thanks Tim! Ha! stay curious, friends! Learn something new
every day. Then, it'll actually feel weird if we're NOT
stretching to meet a new challenge :) Rock on, Tim!
I can't find that model on the floyd rose site?
Give Tim an hour to practice and he'll have the 2nd riff at full speed!!!đž
I do prefer your style of playing Tim, so much more at whatever speed...
Check out Eric Woolard 'Chicken Pickin' Shred' on his YT channel to see some amazing double stops
Anyone know if the Vidami blue pedal is available in the UK?
Yeah, you should get an endorsement from vidami like Andy! You have many more subscribers đ€·ââïž
What is it about Floyd Rose tremolos that make every guitar sound like a Strat? It's not a bad thing - just a thing.
For comparison, letâs say for example a Drummer is playing a groove and heâs very good so he plays 3X as many hits. Because he is SO GOOD, he can bisect time and deliver a lot more hits. Is that better? Heâs REALLY good. But is that what I want? Not precisely. What I want is the original groove with nuances and heartfelt pauses. Subtle bursts of energy. When an auctioneer is speaking rapidly, does that help me understand? I canât make out half of what heâs saying, until he slows down. If I give my time to music, thereâs no race. If I feel like Iâm being delivered too much information in too short of time, it doesnât help. I can only digest so much at once, so might as well make those words count. â€ïž
MA is amazing. The only thing that bothers me a bit about his playing is the intonation often sounds a bit off to me (I think b/c of the sliding chords, bar use, etc). Maybe it's not, but sounds that way to my ears that no one cares about.
sounds like a hawai guitar
if Tim Pierce has trouble with it, what hope do I have? Mateus should be studied by science. He's the most gifted and interesting player stylistically on the planet right now, imo.
What brand guitar is that?
Itâs a Floyd Rose guitar. They came out a few years ago but I havenât seen many people using them
@@x3a3x3 thank you
Mateus is another technician, who did little to impress me. Besides, I'm too busy trying to pick up Tim Pierce influence in my style (which has come from hundreds of players) esp. those melodic double stops.
Actually if you dig in mateus' playing you will find very melodic compositions and great double stop runs.
What kind of guitar is that?
I donât recognize that headstock. Anyone know what it is?
your playing is always very tasty.
That's you with Beth Hart on Black Dog isn't it?
First off, love ya Tim. Of courseâŠ
But to my ears and soul these days so many notes are often saying less and emoting less in music. When we look back in most cases the solos that made rock classics what they are tend to be sparse quite often with the emphasis put on emotion and feeling. And most important alwaysâŠthe song.
Exactly how I feel about it.
These youngins and their fast-twitch muscles, I'll just have to play it at 75% and give it my slow-twitch expressiveness.
