How To Change Blade In Modern (New Mechanism) Utility Knife (Box Cutter) with Snap Off Razor Blades.

- I recently bought two different brand (Creston and Ingco) utility knives (Box Cutter/ Razor Knife) with snap off (break off) razor blades only to discover I had no idea how to change the blade. Although I have been buying these things for many years without ever having a problem changing the blade, all of the sudden something had changed. It was different and it was confusing and frustrating until I figured it out. Once I did figure it out it was easy! I will show you so that you don’t have to go through the same frustration that I did.

Thank you SO much!
My boyfriend actually had his very incorrectly put together after a blade change & left it that way. So when I needed to use it & it wasn't working properly, I went one to try to learn how.
That's when I found your video which has really helped me out.
Now the blade is sliding correctly and I'll have to reach my boyfriend how to refill this blade in the future.
I couldn't quite see what you were doing, but just hearing you talk helped me to figure out how to reassemble a little pile of stanley fat max snap-off blade knife parts back into a working knife, & to figure out how to get the knife inserted into it properly.... I'd also recommend- lube your knife & snap blades with inert mineral oil/ baby oil. Mine rusted, & I have no idea how, causing it to seize up. I washed the snap blade smooth again with a soap brillo pad & then oiled it. Blessings. Peace.
I think your directions are the first on the entire internet that works, congratulations for figuring that out !
lol, thanks!
Thank you. I did throw my first one in the bin and then bought another but had the same problem.
Larry you are the man!!!! Thank you
You made my life easier!! Thanks a ton!!
I had been trying to fixed it for couple of days and i till can't figure out, but finally, I've watched your video and it's really useful. I was about to throw this knife 😂😂
I am still using the old school ones, but thanks to you, I am well prepared for the new ones when I get my hands on one of these.
Thank you so much. I thought I was losing my bloody mind.
I recently purchased a masterforce from Menards, still different, and no instructions. You have to pull the knob all the way back, then twist the knob to remove the blade. Once again, super simple once you figure it out
Just came here for this style, thank you!
thanks larry!
Thank you. This video was a great help.
Thanks a million! 🎉🎉🎉 it worked. So simple 😂 good job. 😊
Your Amazing, I couldn't figure this out! Almost threw it away!
Thanks, glad I helped you. It is frustrating how they don't even tell you how to do it.
Thumbs up, and many thanks! I thought I was going crazy.
you are welcome!
Larry, you'r a gem, thank's.😉
You're welcome!
Thank you, buddy!
You're welcome!
Thanks
Thank you good sir !
You're welcome!
Those newer knives uses what's known as a self loading mechanism where you can put more than one blade, when you slide out the whole thing, you put your blades in it and slide it back in, those extra razors will automatically be fed
really? cool! they should have instructions! well i am happy with my way :)
@@LarryElterman yeah it's easy like the way you showed but when you removed the the whole cartridge and load up more blades, you don't need to replace a new blade everytime, other blades automatically gets loaded
@@LarryElterman here's a vid how it's done czcams.com/video/t5x4gvFhQmw/video.html
@@electronics_hobbyist This video sucks, it does not show any auto loading that I can see.
@@LarryElterman it you look well you will see, you'll see where the whole cartridge came off and he re-insert the blades, each time a blade reached its last snap off segment, you push the slider all the way up and pull off the remaining blade, slide the slider back and a new blade automatically reloads on the slider, it's easy peasy, this new model are practically much easier than the older ones in my opinion and are made much more durable as well
Unfortunately, i still can't figure out. Please can you help me how to fix it.?
I did help you. I created a video to show you how to do it! Maybe your razor is not the same.
Don't mean to laugh, buy I'm in same boat! I bought a masterforce utility knife. Got the Allen screw out, still couldn't change it, threw the POS in garbage!!
Auto refill, all way up pull the blade then all the way down
