Focus RS Mk3 owner drives a Focus RS Mk2 for the first time!

- For pretty much the first time ever I let someone else drive my Focus RS Mk2, and he just so happens to own a Focus RS Mk3! So I thought it would be a good idea to film it and get his genuine first impressions.

I was trying to Egg Sam on to drive a bit faster but he was being very respectful - fair play to him 😂

I was exactly the same when I drove my mates green mk2 before I bought mine. He was telling me to boot it but I only gave it 3/4 of the throttle 😂

Thank you again for the drive! Yours is a great example of a really special RS. The noise, looks and feel of the front end really sells the car for me 😊

Great review guys. I have the mk3 RS and love it. If i could afford to i would have one of each, the 1,2 and 3. For me it's not which one is best, all 3 are fantastic cars in there own right. Plus with all the RS's there are so many modding options you never see 2 the same
Yes mate all three are great cars individually. I’ve owned all three and loved each one in terms of the driving thrills and feel they offered 😊
Ford definitely nailed it with the mk2, it’s certainly a car that deserves that RS badge. When you look at a mk2, you just know exactly what it is, a bit like the Escort Cosworth. Going from the mk3 to the mk2 makes perfect sense 👍🏻
They certainly do have the road presence of a true RS 👌🏻

@@CarFocused yes I did notice your turbo blue one, that’s the one I’ve got. It’s an OPF model but I’ve had MRC do a few bits whilst retaining the OPF and it’s just under 500 horse.

Good content again...Seeing the mk2 / mk3 parked side by side - Makes you wonder what a Ford Engineered wide body AWD mk3 would have looked like...Would have cost more granted...but I would have stumped up the extra cash...😊
Yea if they’d have put they styling into the mk3 that they did with the mk2 it would have been epic. Along with a stronger engine too 🙈
Bro..what do you do to update the usb connection to play music etc through your phone? I have Bluetooth connection, but it only works on telephone, nothing else 🤝

K sport brakes are a common upgrade one of the best mods I did, half the stopping distance makes the drive much more fun. Or the mountune brakes if you can find them
I’d know to upgrade to the Alcons but they’re big bucks 😩

Wish I could have one but I need a garage, it’s not a daily car, expensive to run and due to the age, it could break down, still remaining hopeful that I will drive one of them at least once in my life

@CarFocused how do you find the PS5? I’ve just had 2 new fronts put on my MK4.5 Focus ST, I paid for PS4S but they put the PS5 on by mistake!! The PS5 is cheaper and I’ve now got a choice, keep the PS5 on and get the £30 difference back, or they’ve said they will but the 4S on. As far as I can tell, the 5 should have better mileage and wet performance but the 4S is still slightly better for maximum attack in the dry. I don’t track the car and never will so I’m thinking the PS5 might be a better all rounder especially for the daily use with my occasional weekend B road blast.
In all honesty mate for road use, they feel pretty much the same! I’d keep them on and take the money 👍🏻

Gary forgive me for being totally off topic but I’d really appreciate your advice.. If you had 60k to spend on a weekend toy would you go for a new shape rs3 or Caterham 420r? I know you’ve driven and reviewed both so your opinion would mean a lot to me as it’s inheritance money I’m spending 👍🏻
As a weekend toy - Caterham. They’re like nothing else. Pure thrills, and a car to keep for many years.

I had a Mk3 with FPM375 from new, but you just can't beat the Volvo 5 cylinder... Only driven a Mk2 on track - but I would go for the Mk2 any day and get it AWD converted, if money was no object 😅

One of the last, if not THE last decent Ford we had in the UK, I hate the Focus after the Mk2, the Fezza's are ok but......they even dropped those now as well.

Quite a tricky one for Sam as he doesn’t really know me so would be hard to jump straight in and give it hell. He had fun though and that’s all that matters 😊 Next video is me driving his Mk3 😁
you can't even compare these two cars, one is THE perfect RS (ofc the MK2), other is just a mass produced china copy.

I absolutely love the mrk 2 .I had a mrk 3 and it's a big regret of mine not to get a mrk2 and now I have missed the boat
That’s why I sold my Mk3 and got one - it was a now or never moment! No regrets!
