I am happy to share my first contact with this mitical bass, exposed in "Procuratoria" of St Marc in Venice.
    Nicola Dal Maso, Double Bass
    Enjoy!

Very nice playing... Do you have a Dragonetti bow? Be interesting to hear that bass with such a bow. Thanks for posting.

The Dragonetti bow is also in the museum and it is restored and playable. I used this baroque bow in cherry wood thinking of the repertoire and because I like its extremely rapid answer.

@@nicoladalmaso4581 Do they have the original strings that it came with the bass? I'd love to know the diameter of them especially the lower strings.

I mean no offense in this comment, question or possible ignorance but, is this supposed to be Dragonetti's actual bass or just a copy... It seems a bit smaller than the descriptions in historical writings? Though it sounds great, has anyone asked or verified if this is legit?

Si sente che è il suono di uno strumento antico, ma guardando la famosa foto, non somiglia moltissimo a quello ...
Forse nella foto aveva un altro strumento? ...
Qualcuno ha qualche dettaglio in più? ...
    Un saluto ...
