If Dunleavy gives Klay more than a 2 year, $40M total contract, Dunleavy will hamstring the Dubs past Curry's prime.
From Klay's performance, he doesn't deserve more than $20M/year. He will not get a Holiday-like contract from any other NBA team, not even from the Magic.
He doesn't deserve more than 10-15, they were giving him time to pad his stat on easy games.

With his production, I think Klay should be given 10-15M/ year for 2 years to match Steph and Draymond. He should also stay at the bench. If he’s not willing to compromise, they should just let him go. No player is bigger than the team. I’m sorry but Klay is just now showing his true colors.

Kerr needs to do a better job coming into next season having a better handle on his roster roles/ change means you can't have predetermined minutes and you have to have a plan to preserve steph dray and Klay. GSW ball is when the other teams have to make most of the adjustments/ this GWS needed to adjust but they were either late or not at for the most part!

Klay need a reality check. After the 10-12 game stint before the play-ins, he was out of steam. He needs to agree to a pay cut, or look for another team, or retire for a back office GSW spot, while we still remember his past greatness. Sorry to be so harsh, but it's how I see it.

Respect is somewhat different from 30+ million. So you can show him respect and still not pay him that much money. He's not worth it unfortunately and it's been more than a few bad games. Look at what you could get in free agency for that kind of money.

Jrue Holiday is selected to represent the US in the Olympics. When Klay gets selected at that level, he can start demanding that kind of contract.
The longer u wait the older these players get and the less u will receive back for them. Klay this whole season looked half dazed with an i don't give a dam attitude. Dray, sometimes comes up big for us, but most the time doing stupid things to cost our team.

Just to clarify something. For those suggesting that we do a sign-and-trade for Klay, that would require the Dubs to take back salary that's 100% to 110% of the salary that we gave Klay. Dubs are over the 1st and 2nd tax apron so they can't take back more than the contract we signed Klay to. So if we give Klay a 4yr/100M contract, we would need to take back a contract that is $25M/year or less if the other team is over the salary cap. If we do a sign-and-trade, that might mean we take back a bad contract for a mediocre player for 2-3 years. Because of the Dubs hitting the 2nd tax apron, the other team can't give multiple contracts to us to match Klay's contract. So the sign-and-trade option is very limited for the Dubs.
Wigs, CP3 and Klay can go if they’re looking for a “blockbuster” trade. Young guys performing really well. It was similar to Curry when he started. They got rid of Ellis and it paid off.
Good thing your not Mike Dunleavy. Your gonna trade our 2nd best defender and primary wing defender? Its not Wiggins fault they took him out of what made him successful. Once they put him back in position to succeed, he did. They asked him to play like Klay and asked Klay to play like Wiggins, then wondered why they weren't getting success. Once Klay was put back as coming off screens and not asked to generate movement he got better. Once Wiggins stopped coming off screens and got the ball in bis spots, he got better. They went away from what worked because they were trying to accommodate everyone else.

I understand where you are coming from regarding KT, DG, Wiggins & CP being stars. To me, they WERE stars. Now age, injuries and performance are regressive factors. So many times this year the "Young Bucks" off the bench got the Warriors back into a game only to have Kerr pull them and put the vets back in to nearly lose or actually lose the game. The young guys have their best years ahead of them. The vets showed this year what we should expect from them next year.

But if TJD doesn't get better next year than you need a skilled big man have klay come off the bench on a vet minimum if he will take that let CP3 walk & maybe see about Boogie Cousins showing TJD the ropes. But Curry wants to win another ship but you do have to get back to the playoffs to do so.
If they got a true big with a defensive skill set you can get rid of Klay and Draymond. Klay doesn't deserve to be overpaid since he hasn't been consistent and yes he did a lot for us in the past but he was paid for it including those two years he was sidelined. The reason I say Dray and Klay can be moved because they both taunted other players with 4 rings which mean they are living in the past. If they want to be paid more for each contract they get they have to be consistent and successful. If they don't produce whether it is suspensions or inconsistent play or even injuries. Keep the young guns cause they can and will get better and we need the athleticism over the age. Put Klay, Dray, Wiggins, CP3, and probably GP2 on the trading block but keep the young gunz like Podz, Kuminga, Moody and TJD. Get rid of all those older guys who aren't producing up to those contracts' expectations.

I love Klay but he's not worth more than $15-20m per season on a 2-3 year extension, especially because he's likely going to continue coming off the bench and he's no longer an elite defender. Jrue Holiday was an all-star and all NBA defensive team member last season and starts for arguably the best team in the NBA, so the comparisons are frankly ludicrous and if Klay is hoping for anything close to $30m then Lacob and Dunleavy need to let him go as players can't be paid according to past glories. Also, if he really wants to keep the dynasty going and remain competitive then he needs to remember the $70m he earned while injured for 2 seasons, understand the young core is the future and that re-signing on a team-friendly deal would send a really positive message to the organisation and solidify his legacy in the bay. That said, he owes the team nothing and we'll still love him if he leaves because that's his right, but paying more that $20m for a declining role player is bad business.
