Additional FAQ: No, it does not come with the DaVinci Resolve Studio license because again, it's meant for iPad users who downloaded the app through the App Store. But you can get a DaVinci Resolve Studio license separately for more or less the same price as the old Micro Panel (w/ Studio license)
Honestly I was looking into it because I thought all BM products came with the Studio license... but if thats not the case its way less appealing - might as well just get the old micro panel through a reseller.
The trackballs will be a little sticky at shipping but after just a couple of hours use will loosen up and then be consistent. And there is a log mode.. in the operation guide it describes the shift keys, inc shift offset!
Thank you Danny for the very deep down Review !! It's always very clear. Great Content !! PS: I ordered the Micro Panel 3 weeks ago - can´t wait to work with it :)
May have mentioned this before but this panel with the ipad holder needs someone to write an ipad app to work with the panel - all feedback like in the big panels could be there and being that it is an ipad - there could be touch screens to show other things as well. It is screaming to me that it needs that. Especially when you have to go to the manual for the hidden buttons. I think with that inclusion, that it could replace a mini for some people that don't have the space. Good review though Danny. Appreciate it.
You might be on to something here, I had to read twice to understand haha You mean someone has to create an application that allows more function buttons to be displayed on the iPad. That’s a fine idea!
Thank you so much for an excellent review and an honest one of that and pointing out all the key points about the lock button well worth knowing when going to purchase this is a great channel 10/10 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🎥✒️
Good review, but to be fair this panel is not designed for guys who already have the old panel, but for guys who didn’t have panels and are looking to take their colour grading to the next level, by using control surfaces. That’s why BlackMagic wins, they cater for every level of their consumer. I love this panel it’s super amazing. I could t afford the previous ones.
I feel that there is the question of whether to upgrade from the old micro panel for the additional functions based on feedback to my review. Even for those who has the mini panel, they see this as an opportunity to free up some space on their desk. So each to their own I guess, its super affordable to buy and test out then decide for yourself ✌🏻
Great review. Please do a follow up maybe once you feel a shift in either getting use to the shortfalls or some workarounds or perhaps feels even worse
How about those controls at the top not being illuminated too to know what they are when using in lowlight....they have everything else lit but I have no idea what I'm controlling when using these knobs at top. I want to love this but. How can you get the viewer full screen on this too I can't figure that out?!?
I dont understand why they didnt use LED highlights in the top row labels. have the panel for 3 days so far and im not liking it. I keep going back to my stylus. kinda disappointed
The trackball wheels on my new micro color panel feel sticky and resistant before they finally start rolling. Is this normal? My original micro panel didn't have this stickiness. Is yours like this?
I dont think so. but after you do the initial setup to access the extra pages, the hotkeys still exist. you just need to re enter them every time you launch the app.
I own the Mini Panel and as you said it takes so much place on your desk. Therefore I am really thinking about purchasing the new Micro Panel and selling the Mini Panel. Would you recommend that or should I keep the Mini Panel?
I think you should keep your mini panel if you have it on your desk already, but don’t let me stop you from trying out the micro color panel, it’s super affordable, at worst it can be your backup panel in case of anything.

Then it is not worth it if it doesn't come with Davinci Resolve Studio
Da Vinci resolve app for Ipad is free ?

Not sure if you finished the video, I commented that the shift + offet is so hard to reach because they are so far apart.
Thank you for this review!
Awesome men🔥
Really happy to see someone reviewing this panel with true experience🙏🏼🔥

You check the battery life in Davinci Control Panel or in Resolve.
You check the battery life inside Davinci Resolve, preferences and then control Panels, its the same with Speed Editor.
Thanks for the heads up!

Will do, looking to make another long term review in 6 months
Very helpful review, thanks!

Some of the many flaws on this panel haha, ps I’ve switched back to the old micro panel
@@DannyGan it's like $2k? Looks a lot nicer but of course larger too.
Can I use Ipad or another tablet only for Scope Window (parade, waveform, vectroscope, histogram) and have the laptop screen only for editing?
Yes, you can. Just Expand the scopes into its own window.
@@DannyGan oh, great! I think to place the tablet to panel and will optimize the space and process
hey guys, mine battery life is only about 1 day, how about yours?
Is there a button to copy previous settings from one shot to the next?
Yes
+100500 for Log button! how its possible to remove so important function? and why not to add not only 1 User button instead of 3-5 User buttons
Hey Danny, which Stylus are you using and recommend? Great review btw!
I’m using the Wacom Intuos S with Bluetooth
That’s an awesome tablet. Been loving it for 2-3 years now..
Xencelabs seems better because you have three buttons on the pen, middle can be middle click
Shame about the LOG button! Have to use Alt+Z instead.
Can we adjust curve points yet? I know we can select a point with the cursor, but doesn't seem like we can manipulate that point on the panel.
Nope!
Great video
Could you tell me the micro panel dimensions? Struggling to find this info anywhere !
Thanks
roughly 37x19 cm
Did you get to try the loupedeck setup with it?And if so does it remove the necessity to get the mini panel?
No I didn't manage to test out the loupedeck, in fact, I switched back to the old micro panel. Will be releasing a long term review video soon!
hahaha! No LOG button!
What pad do you use? Great video!
I use the Wacom Intuos S, thanks!
For battery life you may be able to check in the preferences. On Mac is should show up in the bluetooth panel.
I dont understand why they didnt use LED highlights in the top row labels. have the panel for 3 days so far and im not liking it. I keep going back to my stylus. kinda disappointed
Keeping the cost down? No idea
Bro, this panel can control HDR wheels?
where did you get stands? I see they have rubber/silicone
Baseus Laptop Stand
The trackball wheels on my new micro color panel feel sticky and resistant before they finally start rolling. Is this normal? My original micro panel didn't have this stickiness. Is yours like this?
It’s the same for me, there’s no weight to it
@@DannyGanok thanks for confirming. I was about to send back because it doesn’t feel normal.
Can you activate all pages for ios davinci resolve apo from the panel?
I dont think so. but after you do the initial setup to access the extra pages, the hotkeys still exist. you just need to re enter them every time you launch the app.

I’ve done it and Bro, the desk is so clean and the micro panel is agile, elegant also portable.
@@GizmoMaxx yup. and you can compensate the drawbacks of the new micro panel?
@@GizmoMaxxdo you like the micro panel over the mini panel ?
The loupedeck CT is a bit of a let down when regarding the colour panel imo
Can I use this with my MacBook Pro 2019??
Officially It supports sonoma 14.3 or higher.
It's possible to use 2x panels simultaneously?
That was my thought too, but unfortunately no... you need to select only one panel in DR Preferences Settings
are you selling it anytime soon?😂
the wheels are a huge downgrade. Big reason to go for the older panel instead
Something someone with older panel would say 😂😂😂
I’ve Downgrade and I’m not looking back on the heavy chunk mini panel.
the price is a downgrade too ha ha.
you are not a professional colorist
Based on what?
Neither are you
My new micro panel only works properly on Divinchi 19
