Thank you for this... and for leaving the part in where she OOPSIED on the pedestal. I've got a young molly (6 yrs) that has, at some point, been ridden.... but she needs to be completely re-started. The behavior I saw after the 'ooopsie' has become familiar to me. Mules seem to need more 'think time' than horses, in general.
You mentioned making another video with a mule who isn't quite so trained so we can see how a new mule acts and what should be done. Have you made that video yet? I would love to see that video! Thanks!!!
I'm working on this with my mule Tucker. I'm being shown that I have to lean toward the mules hind end with my body and point with the free hand. This seems to put me out of balance and I don't understand the need to lean toward the hind end of my mule. I notice that you move as little as possible and direct with the hand with the lead. Is your method really any different or are people just following another trainers added ways to get the same result.
Do you have any videos of how to get them started doing this? I'm getting a mule and a Hinny. Starting with the Mule (Budweiser) he wants to learn but doesnt understand
