- Scott ToyGuru Neitlich review and discusses the Masters of the Universe Classic Adora figure, secret identity of She-Ra princess of power. How toys are made and secrets of the MOTUC line!
- Zábava
Still very sad that Starburst She-Ra and Catra in her vintage toy costume never happened, BUT having so many POP characters in my MOTUC collection is a wonderful thing. I love them.
I do wish we did more POP earlier in the line
Going down the rabbit hole of this playlist, I’m sure happy I did. Learning a lot about the lore so far. Great watch! Great work!
I don't have many MOTUC figures but I had to get Adora and She-Ra when I saw them for the first time at a convention nearly a decade ago. Such beautiful figures! You did a great job! I lean towards Adora as my favorite of the two. I just love her colors (those lovely shades of red) and detailing (that facial expression, a place to actually store her sword on her back), also her sturdiness. After all these years, she still has no problems standing. (She-Ra's leg joints have always been a little loose.) Having female figures that actually stand up isn't something to take for granted. I appreciate the equal care that was given to the "secret identity" figure as much as to the heroine figure and perhaps that makes Adora more impressive in my mind.
Figures being able to stand is VERY important
Adora is one of the most beautiful MotUC figures and I remember being very happy to leran she was coming at the Classics. This was the first time ever, Adora was released as a figure of her own. Until now, I still love her.
She is still single I hear.
Really loving these commentaries, very interesting. Adora was actually the first classic I bought and I really dived into the line after that. It was a figure I had always wanted
A great first figure to get
I agree about the Anakin figure. To me as a kid, he was totally the secret identity figure.
Still one of my top Star Wars figs. Have my original on my desk
Looking forward to your commentary on Despara. Despara & Keldor are my favorite MOTU characters.
Will get to them in time!
THIS IS INSANE. I just looked this figure up on the secondary market. HOLY CRAP??? I managed to get my hands on one years ago and was going to give it to a friend to make a Big Barda Custom out of. Well, glad I didn’t do that!! 😂
Love these videos!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!!
And thanks for watching and commenting!
That pic at 7:56 gives the ESB Luke and Leia kiss a run for its money
Ha!
Another nifty video! Thank you! Also, the "Popularity Contests Ruin Everything" slide helped my wife cement her own upcoming video, so she says "thank you," as well!
Well that is awesome! Glad to help.
Maybe we should use our collective powers to get He-Man to show up on HISHE. After all Skeletor hangs out at the Villain Pub where everybody hates your name. Another great look at a long needed figure- thanks sir!
I do love that channel!
This is a very informative video about a cool figure. However in terms of the comments section I’m not sure if I’m pleasantly surprised or slightly disappointed that Half the comments on here aren’t just“Hey Adora” memes. Pleasantly surprised because I respect the restraint, slightly Disappointed because I actually liked Netflix She Ra and binging it this year was really what got me back into MOTU after many years.
Yeah that was before the Netflix show
@@spectorcreative1872 ah ok that makes sense now.
I do love MOTU & POP!
Like Peanut butter and something that goes with peanut butter
So, speaking of Mer-Man, when he became available, I ordered two of him, one for my collection and one to use in a project that still hasn't happened yet. When I ordered, something glitched and I wasn't sure if the order went through so I ordered again... and ended up with two sets of two Mer-Men. I thought about selling or giving away the extra 2, but they're still displayed above my bookcase with Mo-Larr and some other figures
BTW, any possibility on a video for Mo-Larr, the Eternian Dentist?
One can never have enough Mer Men....
Hi, love watching the videos on CZcams. It's great to get a unique perspective on how toys are made from a creators point of view, and what goes into a process. Loving the MOTU classics vids, I've seen them all so far, and look forward to Buzz Off.
I have a question regarding toy making, which I'm hoping you can answer, and maybe make a video about to answer.
When it comes to licenced franchises, such as Star Wars. Who determines which characters get made, is it the toy company or the studio. In this case, Hasbro and Disney. Do Disney give a list of characters that should be made, and they must be made first. Or do Hasbro have a list they want to make, but need approval from Disney to do so. It's something I've been thinking about as a collector.
Thank you for your time. Keep up the great work, I always look forward to the new videos.
Thanks.
It is basically the toy company, but the license holder has to approve the list and can often make "suggestions" or request exact changes.
11:40 that MacOS notification made me question the foundations of reality...
It should
When is the next episode? Will you be doing fisto and why he's so hard to get and expensive now? I paid 240 pounds for him. I love this line with a passion. 2020 and I'm collecting it! And when I complete it Ill do it again :)
I do new videos daily!
Love your vids and would love them even more if you stopped using that ol' snake mountain microphone and got yourself a proper one XD
Got a better mic. Hope it is better for you! Let me know
@@spectorcreative1872 no worries its a lot better :)
Well and maybe Skelegod from Revelation.
Never say never
Since Mattel has the He-Man ATMOTU action figure license back, why doesn't Mattel reissue the Classics line?
Because they don't have the tooling anymore
@@spectorcreative1872 Thanks for letting know. I personally find that sad to hear.
How could you not bring up the granny panty controversy
Joey Chalom what is this controversy? I’m intrigued…
@@MatticusPrime1 If you look at Adora, and some of the other PoP figures, some people say the bottoms of the tunics look like oversized granny panties.
Honestly, I forgot!
Thanks for this always very interesting background information on the individual action figures.
But I have one technical advice: I think you need to lower the recording level of your microphone a bit. Unfortunately, you sound very overdriven in many videos, which makes it a bit unpleasant to listen in the long run.
Thank you! I will note that and try to improve. I really do appreciate that technical feedback!
Love the videos .stop using the snake mountain microphone if I had headphones on they would be bleeding .Good video interesting super powers clark kent was best ever done think dc classics did a Clark. So basically it's a tease hook keep people into the line
Got a new Mic!
what happened to that faker statue? is it destroyed or in a warehouse??
It was stored in Mattel's Trade Show services area for a few years.
But stridor never did come from Mattel. The fear of the line dying out is always there and getting the less popular choice 1st seems risky.
Risky yes, but it does work. From time to time
Gotta improve that sound quality. Good content but I can't listen to potentially 200 videos where it sounds like you're screaming into a fan in your basement.
It's crystal clear for me.
@@jzachery it's clear, but the audio signal is clipping.
I got a better mic!
You poor thing.
I loved the Adora figure, except for those granny pants!! ha ha Wish you had the later female buck design at the beginning. Queen Angella has the best crotch piece. Scott, was there ever a plan to release Adora again in the Club Grayskull line?
I only outlined the first 6 figures for what became Club Grayskull. I don't know if the new team or Super 7 did.
Seems like Mattel had some pretty poor attorneys guiding them with these licensing contracts. How could Mattel sign an agreement where they would not have license to produce their own copyrighted/patented character? Furthermore, how could a licensee own the rights to something which is derivative of the Mattel IP? Bad contracts.
It doesn't end there! Come to find out, Mattel is set to lose their license to the MOTU property in 2023?! Bonkers! Mattel created it and yet they are going to lose it to a movie studio? Who wrote these contracts? Who at Mattel agreed to these insane contracts? Whoever executed these deals; they effectively denied the company of their own property.
Who knows that will happen to MOTU after 2023. Perhaps they will license it to Hasbro? If it goes to Hasblo, everything MOTU will be a Target exclusive that no one (except the scalpers) will be able to find lol.
The bottom line of it all is that Mattel sold the rights off by segment (toy, entertainment &c...) during a bad year in the early 90's. See this video:
czcams.com/video/H8Qv-y3vVrk/video.html
...mattel is going to lose their contract in 2023??? How do you know that? Guess that will be it for the Origins line their pumping out!
good to know adult fans wanted the She-Ra action figures. She-Ra deserves it because the G1 She-Ra characters are great. They need more love to differentiate themselves from the garbage woke new version
100%. Those characters are awesome and I am so glad we got to so many in the MOTUC line
Worst secret identity example: the Phantasm from the BTAS movie. Huge spoiler.
Oh yea! What a spoiler
