    CZcams compression doesn't really do it justice, the textures are sharper ingame

    Last week I saw a video of a developer show off his Photogrammetry demo of Asseto Corsa Driving Simulator for a street track of his neighbourhood. During that demo, all I could think of was it possible to do the same in DCS World...... Thanks Eight Ball.. Very nice...

      Indeed, that video was pretty impressive (and this one is too). Here's hope we'll be getting more advanced methods based on deep learning soon.

    Basically what MSFS did but in DCS. That's truly great

    The oldest Combat flight Sim i used was CFS2.
    This is positively BONKERS.

    Hey Eight Ball, outstanding work!! I'm in possesion of a Pix4D Mapper license and photogrammetry is one of my passions. The other is flying in DCS World. I would like to add 3D content created by myself to DCS World but no idea of how I can start doing it. Is there any documentation or link you may share? I can also help with processing.

      Hi Jorgen I highly recommend watching Grajo's tutorials for converting your objects to edm format and importing them into DCS: czcams.com/video/SYvr_GLR2AE/video.html
      You can contact me on the forums if you need help, I've added a link to my thread in the video description

      We need to do photogrammetry of planes at a ww2 museum or something.

    Nice to see people bringing reasonable stuff into DCS and not attempting to recreate "a yet another F-22". Great job!
    But what's with that weird duplicate cyclic?

    Nice ! Is the island a map or a static object ?

    • @EightBall
      @EightBall  Před 2 lety

      Thank you. I'm in 2D and unfortunately no, no sling loading for the MH-6 =/

    that looks pretty cool.. how is the collisions on the complex rock shapes?

    • @EightBall
      @EightBall  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Zebra, the collision mesh was indeed tricky. The mesh of the original model is just to complex for DCS to handle so I hand to simplify it.
      i.imgur.com/Ar3fneK.jpg
      The picture might be a bit confusing, the larger triangles represent the collision mesh, the smaller ones are from the model itself.
      It's not a perfect match but it's the best I could do for now. The mesh for the man made parts (the lighthouse, walls, etc) was handmade and I tried to be as accurate as possible
