- One of the greatest recordings I have heard of Pt. Kumar Gandharva is his rendition of Puriya Dhanashree. Here, Mukulji sings the same bandish as his father, but in a style so distinct that even someone who has heard Kumarji's rendition tens of times gets sucked into a whirlpool of anticipation and exhilaration.
Deep Divinity... Pure and Pristine... Mere words... Feelings much beyond... Nectar🤔
I was on the seventh row seat from the front, sitting on the left-most chair. Amongst hundreds of concerts attended, I remember only this one as if it happened yesterday. Internet was not as much as how it was in 2012, and not much of Mukulji's material was out in the public domain.
When the mehfil was over, I was already in a different universe. It took the next morning for me to snap back to reality.
Could have died that night, and it would have been without regrets.

This man is a genius, possibly the only TRULY GREAT vocalist left in India after the death of Kishori Amonkar.

hemant krishna that is really great. i was present for that concert. when i left home to reach concert i was in confused state ki should i take mp3 player to record it or not. but i did not take mp3 player. and then once this nirguni started and i started regretting my decision. till now i hacve been searching for this nirguni in this concert. its almost 5 yrs. looks like i will get my reward now :). many thanks hemant ji !! i will be grateful to you.
