Actually cows do burp and fart. Most of the methane they produce is from burps and is caused by bacteria in their first stomach. This can be prevented by feeding cattle and other ruminants with red seaweed (Asparagopsis). A small amount of red seaweed in their diet each day and no more methane.
I never heard cows farting. Even at the fair I've never heard a cow farther. They have a four chamber stomach.
