Mr Rohit appreciate your efforts in trying to keep the state govts reputation intact. Logically speaking if any company wants to shift operation to a different location in the same country or same state, it DOES NOT offer VRS to all employees. First option is for relocation to existing employees , employees leave if they are unwilling. As per you, new location is in the same state and city .... so your logic sounds weird

All permanent staff has been offered VRS and they have accepted as well. This plant will close down. It will be all new in Durgapur after the plant comes up.

the points which this dalal left out:-
1. Britannia's head office shifted to Bangalore long back, a simple Google search will confirm this... the registered office is still in Kolkata but I don't think any decisions r taken here nowadays..
2. There has been NO confirmation from the company on any fresh investments... the company announced it will make fresh investments around 2018 but has not invested a single paisa yet... while this closure is confirmed, rohit as usual is trying to pass off old news as fresh news ... no news reports has quoted any Britannia official who has confirmed any investments..
3. mumbai and Chennai receives prestigious investments from numerous companies.. so their population is not as dependent on few companies for their image building...
Yes, in West Bengal all unemployed depend on Britannia Company. Britannia company employees in Bengal some crores.
Simple Google searching gives this as well...go and check out. They take land earlier as this is a small margin product and they utilize it at the right time. Don't you even have this common sense and you are talking about Business economics. It's HQ is in Kolkata only and will continue to be; only few years ago a marketing office was set up in Bangalore and I had visited it and no decisions are taken there. And regarding prestigious investments, check out your knowledge. You are in the dark age.

Let me tell you in the BGBS summit this year ,
The Government received
Letter of Intent(LoI) or Expression of Interest (EoI)
Not Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
These LoIs or EoIs are least credible type of formality .
Companies don't want to harm their relationships with governments and also don't want to harm their credibility .
So they issue these Intent or Interest Proposals that can be easily discarded without any accountability from the them to the Government .
After MoU became a political tool to advertise summits , Companies changed their way of dealing these things
It become a win win situation for both the company & the Government .
But common innocent public don't understand the technicalities of formal Procedures .

The way u tried to save Britannia, it seems the company is less bothered than you. If the company is shifting their establishment as per you, then why did they sack their employees and also paid compensation? Why did Britannia not relocate their employees in their newer factory? Can u please find these answers?
Morover, they have shutdown the factory with an abrupt notice which doesn't have any explanation which u are trying to provide.
As always the establishment in Bengal with all its digital proxies are trying to brush the issue under the carpet .
They don't have any explanation about why Britannia issued VRS abruptly for all its employees.
Not even a single employee has been transferred or planned to be transferred to a new setup .
Simply because they are packing their bags out of the state .
You will see an apartment project in that area soon with the help of local Councillor,MLA , MP .

Once a state which topped over all other states across the country has now seen one of the lowest GDP per capita in the country and poor infrastructure, health and education sector, and HDI is one of the lowest in the country
Although we have immense talents. good skilled labors and attitudes than any other state that's why still our people can get a good job nationwide and globally.
Today it is the sixth largest economy, even states like U.P. & Karnataka have left behind
These are very unfortunate to see.

Rohit, very bad news for our critics: Britannia has not closed their taratala factory, it was a temporary suspension to carry out the VRS process for their permanent employees. Post the exit of the employees on Monday, they produced 1200tonnes of good day biscuits on Tuesday from their taratala factory. It is all open and will run the factory till they set up their new biggest one in Panagarh and the 2nd planned investment is in Salboni.
Moreover, they will have to exit someday from taratala as port lands are very costly and such marginal products cannot be long produced from there. This is the logic in their economies of scale
