EDC17CP14 Read / Write on Bench mode with Xhorse MultiProg

Read eeprom and flash with Xhorse MultiProg and compare with readings from PCM Flash.
Write modified file and original back to ECU in bench.
Important : MultiProg is not making checksum for internal Flash.

Yes, it is for manual calculation of checksum for files

i just got my multiprog, and I'm getting stuck at "Sending and receiving data, please wait". After 3 minutes, I get "Connection Failed!". I tried 4 different ecu modules, 3 of which was EDC17CP14, and I connected it exactly the same way you did, as per the pinout. Any idea?

Check if cable from MultiProg its matched correct to ECU for example P1 marked cable to be at Pin44, most of mistakes i see at pinout. Then if you have another tool just to validate if another tool can communicate with ECU over the Bench mode. Me personally what i tested from Bosch ECUs worked with MultiProg on bench mode

@@UnixCoDElectronics I wish it was easy. I've checked and checked again and again. My connections are solid and correct. I tested a 5th one and still no go. I took it out of a good car.

LOL VHORSE engineers said multiprog never worked bench mode with edc17cp14. They also told me that if we are lucky, they'll eventually get it to work with boot mode ONLY. So is this all missinformation to sell a product that can't support what you state? Be carefull all.

MultiProg is a work in progress. I contacted the seller and they forwarded my problems to the engineering team and while they got one to work, the other 3 I had would not work. All 4 were taken from working vehicles. Right now, Multiprog is a hit or miss and maybe in 3-5 years it will be a viable tool. At the moment, this tool is a pass.

I wonder could this device cover the same range of ecu's like FC200 🤔

Comparison 1:1 with FC200 it`s quite hard, in general what it have on list its working. Regarding checksum its a minus compared with FC200. Also FC200 have some functions extra over Multi-Prog, TCU i have not tested.

It can read, but you cannot clone just by swap files.

No, it can read alot of units but there are no reset, in future people will make scripts to reset data, now it is still new on market

Yes, edc17 can be cloned, not in same way as edc16, but it is working to be cloned if old ecu data can be readed.
