Absolutely beautiful reaction 😢. Dimash penetrates the hardest of hearts and the most broken hearts and gives us hope and positivity, uniting us with music, breaking boundaries, and reminds us that we all live under One Sky. Thank you Alex, the live performance from the Almaty Concert is absolutely phenomenal, even more emotional than the music video, which is hard to imagine. We’re Choosing Life❤.

This Painful Masterpiece is Dimash’s soul pleading to the World. I have no words, as my heart, body and soul are aching for Dimash. I believe Dimash Qudaibergen Has thousands of souls in him. How can one young man be so in tune in everything he does. His passion for The world, his country, his parents, his siblings, his friends, and especially his music is extraordinary !!! We are all so blessed to be a part of his outstanding journey!!I am so proud to be a Dear!! 💐💐❤️❤️

Thank you your wonderful and empathetic reaction.
In The Story Of One Sky he sings the whole soundtrack himself.
The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it.
He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay.
The premiere was on September 24, 2022.
As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is.
Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife was also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. OMG he is such a phenomenal actor.
But it‘s funny how very few reactors realize that the soldiers shot in the arm at the beginning of the war scenes was Dimash.
If you want to know more about this video check out dimashnews. com
Btw, Dimash has received an award from Pope Francis personally at The Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan on September 13, 2022. He performed the song there in connection with the congress before the premiere. Can you imagine, a Muslim receiving an award from the head of the Catholic Church. How wonderful is that🥰.
He also gave a speech at the first Central Asian Media Forum, in which he once again strongly advocated peace. You can see it with English subtitles.
    czcams.com/video/2C55a3mvfP/video.html
The official live version of his concert (on September 23, 2022 in front of 30,000 people from 68 different countries) is available on his channel, Almaty concert part 3 from minute 23:15 with a short speech in which he performed the song for the first time. You should definitely see this. There are subtitles in English
    czcams.com/video/YP1r9wlkmHU/video.html
And he's been singing it in all his concerts ever since. But always a little different.
    Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

There are live versions from Dimash’s recent concerts around the world. His emotions are raw and you can see his shining soul in his performances. The video concept was led by Dimash as well as the music. I hold this young man in such high esteem- as do all of his dears. For me, he is a beautiful person: the soul, the talent, the voice, the mind and - yes - the person, but Dimash becomes more attractive when you see the soul. You were so very close to his message with your interpretation that I was subconsciously encouraging you to look up or move forward- not because I didn’t want to listen to you, but to observe your response to Dimash’s written message at the end. Normally I offer cheers from Canada but after this song I always prefer to offer prayers from Canada. Take care.

Sincere reaction. Love right back at you. Everything you received here is tangible and I was completely immersed. Yes, Dimash is a work of art in music, voice, acting, performing, writing, heart, mind, being and physical appearance. He is divinely blessed and as messenger for love, life, peace, unity and tolerance he is much needed for this world. No other artist stands up to what is that important and he has made himself vulnerable by being vocal on stages, with leaders, in countries … all to spread this message. Anyone that struggles with his art, is deprived of the joy and inspiration this young man brings to the world! He deserves all the accolades, achievements and awards. But, honestly - that is not important for him. He lives what he believes, without question. May he stay protected, safe and healthy throughout his journey. Thank you for an awesome reaction that speaks truth! ❤😢😊

This work is ALL Dimssh, all his thoughts, feelings, morals. He came up with this story and wrote the screenplay and dialogue. He acted in it from the start, the soldier under the boardwalk to the very end. He composed this beautiful song over 3 years, in between concerts, performances, TV appearances, composers block etc. He asked a poet to pit his words into English lyrics. He worked closely with the director on every part of the filming. He was on set to advise and uplift everyone, cast and crew, and often sung to give joy to all. Dimadh sings all the time he just can't help himself 😊
This is a true masterpiece of a short film, and he premiered the song singing it live at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in September last year 2022 in front of the Pope and many others. It went down well, and afterwards, Dimash met the Pope who presented him with a commemorative medal.
I think it gave them a lot to think about ❤
Two things you missed the woman is portraying his characters wife, the little girl is his daughter. The baby being born is his son who grows up leading the pilgrims toward the light. Its Dimashs mussion to spread love throught the world. He helps so many people in so many ways including with his charitable contributions. Dimash is a true humanitarion but he hates anyone to find out where his money goes, to him he loves to give anonymously, he needs no fanfare. He is a truly great and moral human being and you cant say that about many people ❤

With this song, you just wet your fingertips in the ocean under the name Dimash ... React further to it and millions of Dimash fans will simply blow up your channel with hundreds of thousands of views and subscriptions. Dimash sings from classical to rap, he is full of surprises, have a good swim in this vast ocean of pleasures. Do you remember the Diva song from The Fifth Element, a movie with Bruce Willis? In this film, the song of the alien Diva was made half with the voice of an opera singer, and half synthesized on a computer to show an alien voice so that human capabilities could not cover the range and jumps of this song, and so: Dimash sang it calmly, which proves that Dimash is an alien.
When I heard Dimash sing, I thought that he was not human. When I heard what he said in an interview, I realized that Dimash is more of a human than all of us.

I met Dimash 4 years ago, when my heart and soul were so broken that I could no longer live on my own.
One night I had a razor on my table ready to be used. At that moment something gave me the impulse to go to CZcams and when I opened it, the first video was "S.O.S" by Dimash. I put it on thinking it would be the last thing I heard, but his voice and the lyrics hit my heart so hard that it began to beat and with each beat I cried heartbreakingly while I felt like they were hugging my soul and telling me that "everything would be okay."
I still struggle through the days, but I feel like Dimash helps me get through them.

Your reaction is precious. It is true. Dimash has created a Masterpiece with this, which is worthy of someone writing a thesis about--all the symbolism, the message. Strangely, I came upon this, and Dimash, just before the new war began. The people who began that war sure didn't listen to Dimash, or you, or anyone who has figured out that hatred never made anything better. How did we get into such a mess, this world? We made ourselves God when we decided we didn't need the real one. We will never fix this mess until we turn back to the real God, and start acting like human beings, not animals. We need to choose life, morality, kindness, love. War unites people? No. It kills people, divides people. Love unites people.
I think I may have figured out some of the symbolism, and a bit of why things in The Story of One Sky happened. I recognized that symbol on the necklaces. It isn't a symbol; it is a part of a type of compass, and shows direction when the sunlight shines through the hole in the middle and onto the pointy part. The guy who saved the drowning boy never put his necklace on, and bent the thing clenching it in his hand, so it would no longer work as a compass--I think that is symbolic that he lost his moral compass because he was jealous that the young girl liked, came to love, and married the boy who would grow up to be the soldier. The jealous boy took the sun's circle off the compass piece (peace?) and made it his symbol. He was jealous, and it festered and he turned into an evil despot, while the other two chose love and married and had a family. I think the little girl who was murdered was their daughter, and the wife was pregnant with who she gave birth to in the video, and may have died in the process. I think she had a boy, and that boy grew up to lead the people toward the light in the end. Choosing life, like his mother and father.

He is positively angelic......isn't he? He has been working with one of the biggest names in the U.S. music business so it will be very interesting to see what's coming next.

The title itself - “Story of One Sky” - is thought-provoking. Before Islam became the predominant religion in Kazakhstan, the nomadic people of the steppes followed Tengriism with Father Sky and Mother Earth as deities. Like many old pantheistic religions, its core tenet was the “unity of all things” since everything in the natural world is animated by and connected through spirit. This concept of spiritual unity lives on in Kazakh traditions, music and poetry.
It is subtitled "Requiem” to commemorate and mourn all those who have died in war and in the struggle for peace, but it is also a vision for the future and a call to action to save ourselves and our world. Raised in an observant Muslim household, classically trained in music, educated in world and Kazakh history, and immersed in literature and folklore, Dimash has a deep understanding of sacred music and the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as ancient traditions, so it is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.
Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself.
The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but it is distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people.
Dimash interweaves the past and the present, the ancient and the modern, throughout this work. Alluding to more contemporary music, with the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony to be achieved by erasing our differences and giving up our identities. The world is complex, cultural roots run deep, and people experience life quite differently across the globe. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must find common ground while respecting our differences and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way.
The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. We see that happening every day around us.
The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Many of us remember the story of the Pied Piper of Hameln from our childhood. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start war, who do not support war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against?
The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed. There are no winners in war. Dimash is right: war is death.
The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant and punctuated by the sound of Tibetan bells that create a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life. The birth underground is reminiscent of the sacred cave Akmeshit (White Mosque) found in Southern Kazakhstan, an ancient place of power said to heal diseases and cure infertility. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking up the sacred mountain together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. With the mountain scenes, Dimash alludes to another sacred place in Kazakhstan on the Kazakh/Russian border, Ice Mountain, which is referred to by the local Altai residents as “The dwelling of the Gods” and by Buddhists as the location of the Shambhala, the legendary country of Gods.
When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening of the sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storms of his emotions that buffet the pilgrims. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is also that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby.
The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.”
There is a very moving scene where pilgrims bury a man who perished on the journey. Men of different faiths come together to honor his life and his passing. This reverent expression of love and unity stands in stark contrast to the commander’s harsh pronouncement that it is war that unites people.
Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect.
Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. As the hymn goes: "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me."
Dimash is a very spiritual person, so using the symbols and sounds of the major world religions is fitting for this work. For those who do not subscribe to any faith tradition, I want to mention Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s latest book “Starry Messenger” where this agnostic scientist calls for the need to develop a cosmic perspective along with the rationality of science to solve the intractable human conflicts that so often lead to war. It is on that HIGHER ground - be it in religion, humanism, or science - that we can find COMMON ground.

    In the moment before that
in the realm of after that,
I sit cross legged, a stonemason,
    seeking strength within abrasion
what will be revealed in this brutal stone that crushes without thought.
To chip away, chip away, the fake flakes and the human flaw,
    removing the hard line,
    smoothing the curved line.
    With every ringing vibration,
    that underlines communication
we will be here, we will be here,

    Oh, Alex!!!!!
You should definitely watch another version of this composition!!!!
This movie came out first. And it made an absolutely stunning impression. But after some time, about a year ago, Dimash had a solo concert in his homeland, in the city of Almaty, where he performed the same composition on stage. And it was a thousand times stronger than the film. A film: this is first an idea, staging, acting, albeit wonderful, with transformation... the first attempt to shoot a frame, a repeat of the frame, the second, the tenth... Then the choice of the best frame from several, editing, voice acting... Well, as in any movie.
And there are no takes on stage. Here and now. And a young guy with a magnificent cosmic talent stands on stage and sings so that it seems that he is tearing off his skin, almost dying in front of thousands of people, screaming about peace so that his soul is about to burst out of his chest, tearing our souls apart too... I was very scared for him when I watched this performance for the first time....
For me, the concert version is incomparably better than the film in terms of intensity and dedication to people. He didn't play - he sang as if it was the last time in his life.
There is an official version from this concert, there are fancams - better or worse. Choose for yourself what to watch. But you have to do it. Moreover, it was from a concert in Almaty. He then sang it in subsequent concerts, but in Almaty it was something especially incredible.
Good luck Alex! You are so cool! We have even advised our beloved translator Asylkhan to contact you with a request that you allow him to make a competent translation of your reactions. He's already translated a lot of the reactions from your friend Phil, whom we absolutely adore. You still have so much to see from what Dimash has done in just a few years.
Peace to you and your family, Alex!
    =====
    Ох, Алекс!!!!!
