Mummers' Play - St George

This traditional Mummers' Play, adapted by Ursula Russell, presents thrilling sword fights between St George and his adversaries, notably the Black Prince. Luckily it's Christmas, so the play has a happy ending.
Although mumming first took place in streets and large houses in the Middle Ages, the mummers' plays that have come down to us date from the end of the 18th century.
Performed by Trinity Players, Stratford upon Avon, this adaptation uses stock characters and traditional words to create an hilarious entertainment for the festive season.
