  • Councillor Paul Jacob and General Manager of Water Services, Travis Richards discuss the final stage of the Ross River Dam to Douglas Water Treatment Plant Pipeline Renewal project.
Council is asking residents to conserve their water usage from May 20 to June 25, as the project nears completion.
During the final stage crews are working to connect the new 9.5km pipeline into Council’s Water Treatment Plant.
We’re asking residents to limit their water usage by:
    - Using sprinklers only between 6pm and 8pm using the odds and evens system
    - Hand watering gardens
    - Using buckets to wash cars and boats
    - Limit washing down outdoor hard surfaces.
This $60 million project is part of Council’s investment in water infrastructure and services and is funded by the Queensland Government in partnership with Townsville City Council.
