The cool thing about lunala a shiny at least is that the wings get a really nice looking reflective texture that makes it look so much better, as compensation for the less saturated colors
While I do wish the saturation stayed, I do agree that the new reflective texture on Lunala's wings is sick.
I like that it looks more like a vampire now.
I like Scar/Vio's shiny Lunala, even though the glow is still better
this is something I never understood,yes 3d models are hard to do,but they've been it long enough to know what they're doing now,they should make the shinies more vivid like they did with the 2d sprites,I've seen fans do it and it looks good in the 3d models,so not sure why gamefreak decided to go more ''faded'' colors route instead,they should've went the route that some fans did
So that it looks natural in the wild and not have the palette of a furry oc remember these are animals not lightbulbs (well some of them are)
It's not the models; it's the PBR lighting and materials reacting to the textures in gen 9.

Btw, we have real life versions of shinies, they’re called albinos like the priceless white tigers and some biologists argue that polar bears are albino brown bears.

Scarlet and Violet completely muted Lunala’s Shiny’s color because they wanted you to not care about it while they prevented you from Shiny-hunting it entirely.

I love Espeon's shiny because it looks like a green alien; really fits the psychic type. Especially with those big ol' eyes.

I hated how they changed shiny Leafeon and Totodile in 3D. Leafeon's cyan-green was sparkly in 2D and Totodile was a much bright aqua color.

My problem with Iron Thorns Shiny is that it's the only one that looks good in the chrome of the Iron Paradox shinies. Tbh, the Chrome should've JUST been on Iron Thorns so other shinies can be more unique
imo shiny Iron Valiant looks pretty neat too in the line of all chrome shiny future paradox pokemon
I will defend the honor of my little goober Jugulis with my life. Imo the chrome looks great on it in game, especially with it's screen faces
Treads, Hands and Moth are the only really meh ones for the shiny since the change isnt that big compared to normal. And I just dislike Iron Hands to begin with lol

Its sad to see everything get so desaturated. The colors one the 2D sprites are all so vibrant and full of Life, but the 3D ones are just kinda sad. This Also applies to a lot of the standing animations.
I personally think Mosmagius’ shiny looks better now. She looks less booger-green and more yellow now. You know, the opposite of the Kommo-o line…

Shiny Skarmory got the biggest downgrade in S/V. It used to be super distinct but now it's impossible to see unless it gets aggressive and raises its wings.

Maybe the changes are actually different shiny variations kind of like Arbok which has a different face pattern depending on the region

i dont understand how they already washed out palettes with the jump to 3D and then gen 9 somehow made it even worse, so many mons just look dull :/ that and the lack of a shiny sound made made me lose all motivation to shiny hunt
It's an issue with the broader SV art style/direction. More vibrant pokemon would of stood out too much from the enviroment so they made it more muted.
Lotad is Mexican, so it makes sense that he’d go from red to brown.
Mismagius's shiny is NOT talked about enough. It used to look at least somewhat decent, but now it just looks... ill.
Still holding out hope that a Mega Mismagius might get introduced in Legends: Z-A, or any game after that. Maybe then Nintendo and Gamefreak can avenge my favorite Pokémon 🙏🙏

As someone who likes Shiny Mismagius, I am immune to the complaints about it. But, yeah. Lotta textures just got screwed up.
All the future paradox pokemon are just pokemon that slipped through the rift before they were painted.
Pichu was my first shiny... (she evolved into a Pikachu yesterday though! I love subtle shinys!!)
my issue with thw change to 3d is that they HAD a group that had already done 3d pokemon models and animations(stadium and colosseum and the battle revolution) and it feels like they didn't use ANY of the groups when they should have
Solosis shinies were so hard for me to find in sv dlc lol, I found 3 of them only because I accidentally stumbled onto them while shiny hunting them 😅 (also stumbled on a shiny poliwhirl because of this)
Scarlet and violet downgraded the tcg energy cards too lol its ADD is crazy how many times they spam energy or the icon
Future paradox should all be chrome and the shiny like the normal version we got

god, duskull, dusclops, what did they do to you in x and y, back in gen 4 and 5 you had this BEAUTIFUL crimson sheen and your had this nice blue effect to duskull to make the choice hard, but in x and y omg they stole ALL the saturation and the blue is straight up _gone_

on time i found a shiny red stripped Basculin while outbreak hunting Shelder. No sandwich booster either. the Shelder never showed.

Pichu was better in gen 4 as the Pikachu color Pichu. It is debatable though whether it was better in gen 4 or gen 2 since gen 2, Pichu was orange with brown cheeks.
I might be weird, but some of the shiny Pokemon from gen 2, Stadium 2, and Colosseum are better. Some examples I have are Hitmonchan, Porygon, Cyndaquil line, Houndour, and Houndoom were all better in gen 2. Umbreon was better in stadium 2 with the rings flashing different colors and it is debatable on whether Espeon from Stadium 2 or it’s beta design shiny are better than the current (blue with green eyes or gold). Colosseum managed to make shiny Butterfree pink like the one in the anime.
Mismagius is yellow, not green.

Spritomb got downgraded in Scarlet/Violet when compared to Legends.
Its contreversial as we are still getting 10 frames a second. If the frame rate was good the it woild be fine.
I hate that like half of the eeveelution's shinys just barely look different so if you catch a shiny eevee you either get a cool shiny of your favourite or you cant evolve it into yor favourite because then it wouldnt look like a shiny anymore
