i dont watch the show but this is how it felt watching secret invasion....
I guess one bright spot is that this wasn't as bad as that. Sol is new; Fury had been around for years and built up a legacy.

Bro, a series based on the comic Crimson Empire would be sooooo good too.
Who would have thought Harvey Weinstein's assistant would depict social workers as evil?
Carrie-Anne Moss was so wasted, she was a good part of why I wanted to see the show, her and a Jedi based show
I thought he killed the mother because she was doing that weird witch thing and he didn't know if it was an attack.
Yes. It seems like he attacked her because Mae also appeared to be turning into smoke and was frightened. But everything was so clunky none of this was very clear.
@@nickmunn7539 I think that was the point. Not clear to us. Not clear to him. Grace seems to think he murdered her to have a padawan.
At this point, haters are just nitpicking anything.
@@nickmunn7539it was? Personally, i thought it was obvious.
It should have been explained by the writers that witches teleport. She turned into smoke because Mae shouted for help. But naturally it put Sol in defensive mode.
Torbin got to make jedi master. Torbin!
No wonder Anakin was pissed off. Even Torbin made rank.
People are missing this. it is the dumbest part by far.
He went, completed his trials, then went back to into suspended animation, but not carbonite.
😂😂😂
This also ruined when Torbin told Mae “we thought we were doing the right thing” like the sentence brought intrigue but to find out dude just wanted to go home so weirdly and forced was weird.
At the beginning, they’re sitting around the campfire, & the padawan guy complains about what they’ve been doing for the past seven weeks, & only then do they bother to tell him (through exposition) what they’re looking for. I was annoyed for him. Seven weeks in the wilderness before they bother to tell him what he’s doing
He IS a padawan I mean he’s there to serve not to complain haha

What did you expect from the gayest show ever that turned into a show for shippers? They don't care about anything they've told us that repeatedly. Canon doesn't matter! That means the episode that you just watched doesn't matter to this episode. Canon is the story. If it doesn't matter nothing does.
Sol was the one shining light in this show imo. The fact that they character assassinated him is a tragedy.
Seems like the ultimate goal was to character assassinate the Jedi Order in genersl. None of them have been shown in a particularly good light..other than Jecki.
It was clear from the start that they going to.
He never was lol
Trinity was the best thing in the show. Acted like a true Jedi. Everyone else is an emotional wreck.
It has been hinted since the beginning of the show that he was responsible for what happened to Mae and Osha's family.
He really wasn't. His acting was downright atrocious. And yes, I know he just learned English for this role, but that in itself is rather weird. Why not hire an accomplished English or American actor? Or if it has to be an Asian guy, take one who is fluent in English and doesn't sound like he is reading from a paper.
“All he’s really guilty of is being a whiny little bitch.”
I AM DEAD! Hahahahah. Maybe my favorite thing Grace has ever said. Hilarious.
The torbin insisting to kidnap the twins just so he can go home bit was soo weird... Maybe if they showed us his motivation, but him just going awol was so jarring.
That was the worst plot aspect of the episode imo. Just seemed like such a weak and forced motivation.
@@TomWyn123 he had his brain invaded by the witch so his irrational behavior and intense emotional issues (see Anakin) justified all of his actions in this episode. Also he DID kill himself and now we know why.

Come on this episode was so unneccesary we didnt need another flashback it was terrible and ive defended this show i thought episode 4 and 5 and 6 were great but this episode i gave up
Just accept it, Grace. It's alright, we understand. You fought valiantly to defend this show, but it's time to accept that you cannot help this rotting corpse. 100% agree

Grace, you were so optimistic, ignoring and even defending so many flaws in hopes of a great reveal. Sorry that it let you down in the end! Thanks for a great review.
I mean, being hopeful is a very good trait and some series get actually better toward the end. Sadly it doesn't seem to happen with most of Disney Plus' shows
I never could understand how people sneak insult while playing "concerned" 😆
There's optimism, and then there's stupidity.
Grace demonstrates stupidity.
I’m confused because I kept hearing about how this was going to deconstruct the Jedi as a whole and criticize them as an institution. Instead, this episode revealed that Council made the right decision to order the Brendok 4 not to interfere and Indara, who was the mission leader, was right all along up until the end. So all that talk of “deconstruction “ and instead you prove the Jedi were right? The mistakes made were from two emotionally impulsive who behaved NOT LIKE Jedi.
But it did deconstruct the jedi? Until now we had mostly only thought there were Qui Gon and Obi Wan type Jedi... at most Yoda. But with this crop of Jedi you can see how some of the jedi really were super arrogant and believed they could weild power any way they wanted.
@@Blaqkron Ehh it’s not effective. Early episodes had a vibe that maybe these Jedis were simply so dogmatic and into their own ways, they could not tolerate other types of Force religions.
Yes this would be unlike of a Jedi but it would show how the flaws of blindly following Jedi rules. However, this episode revealed that the mistakes did not stem from following Jedi teachings but going AGAINST them.
It only makes the Jedi and the Council, seem more in the right. Torbin and Sol were to impulsive and motivated by fear. They also didn’t adhere to the chain of command (Indara, Council). This is not like a Jedi at all unless you’re Anakin Skywalker.
In short, it’s not effective deconstructing if you’re depicting people who aren’t even actual Jedis to begin with.
@@CarnageTrooperx or... unless you're Qui Gon... or Obi Wan... or Luke... then it's just exactly like a Jedi... the problem is, things didn't go well after they made their own choices (very much like what happened with Anakin and Dooku)
The jedi were the only known force wielders in the galaxy, so they potentially had to control/induct every force user which obviously led to these people slipping past the supposedly rigorous testing process, also explaining the only reason why OSHA was kicked out was because she lost connection to the force
You said perfectly, Grace: Every character lost their damn minds! They made Anakin seem calm and patient in comparison
@@diegopansini3152 cosign the making Anakin seem reasonable in comparison part... which, now that I think about it, is something I didn't even think the show would try to do. But Sol was so OUT OF LINE. It is happening.

Andor is as good as Acolyte is cringe. Which means Andor is spectacular, an instant classic.
Writer 1: How can we make Jedis look really creepy?
Writer 2: I know! We can have the favorite Jedi hide behind a tree and stalk 2 little girls and plan to take them from their family.
Writer 1: Genius!!!
It's not that we told you, it's that Weinstein's former PA herself said you're not going to get the explanation and closure you want; that she was just going to be presenting the situation from different points of view and you'd have to make up your own mind.
But for whatever reason, you've been unwilling to accept and understand that.
All of the things you're finally taking issue with are problems that exist all through the series. You might come to realise that in a few months, when you're watching it again. (But I'm only saying that because of this video and I can still imagine you convincing yourself its good.)
No bottom fell out. There was no bottom to begin with.
😂
😂
The main villain is the writers, they make it seem like all the characters have multiple personalities clearly the writers didnt understand any of their motivations because not a single person act consistently. Mae is obviously the most egregiously bad example.
Yeah, AI will do that.
This episode had 3 writers, and you said Sol seemed like he was in some kind of experimental theater. I think I've figured it out. The experiment was none of the 3 writers were allowed to look at what the other 2 wrote until they turned the cameras on and filmed this episode.
Disney: How can we use Carrie Anne Moss?
Leslye Headland: Make her collect Moss?

When Mae and Ohsa go all Smoke Monster from “Lost” and merge together to form a single all powerful Force being I will not be surprised.
The power of Two!! Uagh! Yiiiyaaa!!
17:37 - I don't think 'Twin' trees would have made more sense. Osha and Mae are NOT twins. They are a single life-force split into two bodies (at least, according to what was explained in this episode). So, it seems to me, that 1 tree which is special to both 'sisters' actually makes more sense. 🤔🤷 (Part of me can't believe I am actually defending the writing on this show lol)
Edit: The fact that they are a single life-force also explains one of the issues that had been bothering me since last episode - It makes at least SOME sense now that Sol had difficulty immediately recognizing that Mae was disguising herself as Osha - because they are the same person and would feel as such within the force.
