The talent on that team, really from top to bottom is quite scary, imagine they all get hot at the same time.....
Because they’ve been so damn bad over last 15 years that they’ve had the #1 pick all those years, so they damn well better be a good team by now! 🤣🤣🤣
@HORACE COMEGNA No we haven't. I give you credit for your attempts at being a top troll but none of your takes lay anywhere near truth. We've had the #1 pick twice and that was part of the rebuild. '12-'16 they led the league in wins. It was only '18-'21 that they finished dead last.
@@jasonpowell6096 Probably a salty Yanks or Sox fan 🤣
If we had two good starters it could be massive! Baltimore is a small market team with a horrible, cheap owner. It is about time this team got something to talk about.
@@racer14glr91 The Angelos family has a track record of spending when it makes sense. Everyone was paid during that run so much so Davis will be paid until '37.
17 games above .500 while relying on the likes of Hicks and O’Hearn in the middle of our lineup. Without a true ace to boot. So fun to watch this team
shows you how much of an actual TEAM they are. Hicks looked done, but has become a steal until Mullins is back. Frazier has provided good value as well after looking in decline. O'Hearn was a negative WAR guy until this season. You get those types of performances when you have a good team atmosphere and clubhouse.
It’s so fun to be a fan again . The dark days of 2016 are behind us .
A true ace and still more talent in the pipeline bro come 2-3 years this team will be a legit threat
@@cmi8842 again? So you gave up on um when they weren't winning?
And to think, no John Means until August. This team is special. Stay healthy and a little bit of luck. Let's go O's!!!
@@blickedxbexactly, can't stand fake fans like that.
I’m a huge orioles fan. He was slumping this year and I could care less. We also forget he’s 21 years old. These past weeks she is killing it. Go birds baby
Let’s go O’s! I’m feeling a good playoff run this year.
Make no mistake about it, Gunnar is the one. Should've never let him get hot.
It’s honestly crazy how this team works. A couple batters really step up and carry the offense while others are injured or are in slumps. Just look at Aaron hicks, he was considered done when he left the Yankees and was playing awful. Now he’s a large part of their offense while Mullins is out. Gunnar has decided he’s gonna hit over .500 every game recently. I love my O’s right now.
Would go to the games in Norfolk to see Gunner, good luck in the Bigs.
since the Tigers blow ass, I picked the O's to be my surrogate team at the beginning of the season
Glad I did, I love watching this org!
Stay loyal
Y’all new age fans are trash
@@rayshardsmith2546 nothing wrong with following good young teams and players. Doesn't mean he's not loyal.
@@rayshardsmith2546 Yeah, it's not weird to find a fun team to watch when your team is in full rebuild. Doesn't mean you like your team less, it's just fun to watch a good team.
@@danielfreeman8725 i never turned against my hometown team even when we had managers like Dave Trembley with players like Jay Gibbons
Like i said , i dislike fans who aint loyal to there home town team
Not a huge breakdown guy when it comes to baseball but this was amazing attention to detail. Gunnar and all the young Birds have been fun to watch thus far. Can't remember the last time I had a legit expectation of World Series but either a trade for a Ace at the deadline or a return of Means to his rookie form in August would drive my expectations through the roof.
I still think we are 2-3 years away . Because of the talent in Norfolk and Bowie . Kjerkstead , cowser , holiday, ( if Vazquez gets back to the guy we wanted him to be ) and another ACE .
@@cmi8842 I don't disagree with that. I just feel this team can compete with any team in the AL series to series. If they could get solid starting pitching into the 6th, they have one of the best back ends of the bullpen MLB. Now of course there are still times when their youthful inexperience shows up and that's where I agree with your 2-3 years away from a consistency stand point.
@@ravensfan2380 I agree and Tate isn’t even back yet to fill more reliving spots . I def think we can compete we proved it in Tampa Toronto and NY this year
@@ravensfan2380 it’s not in Elias DNA to be aggressive in acquiring but he is in selling at deadline . I wouldn’t mind the kid from MIL who is not happy there the one who shut us out . That’s why I think we aren’t calling up westburg yet . It’s for his arbitration ability to extend a year so they are waiting until the deadline to move him
@@cmi8842 they could be ahead of schedule and contend seriously for title next year. Last year and by extension this year have been ahead in terms of team development into serious contenders.
Had the pleasure of witnessing the longest dinger to reach Eutaw Street yesterday at the yard!
🟠 Let's go OOOO'S 🟠
Of all the youngsters I’ve seen his swing is the prettiest
I would argue he didn't really struggle at first, he just was more patient at the plate. He had like 9 walks in his first 5 games or something insane like that. Now he's turning that OBP into hits and average.
I mean he was definitely slumping at the plate, but the fact that “slumping” for him just means a bunch of walks? We take those 💯 😂
He was very reluctant with 2 strikes. Was more willing to take strike 3. His swing is much better and he's doing better at fouling balls off. Same with Adley last year. Lots of walks and hard hit balls but poor 2 strike hitting which changed with Adley this year.
I Think you're right! A little too patient you've got to mix in a certain amount of aggression especially when you have the power he does
He was a little too patient at first but he had a .172 average with a .372 OBP. It was pretty wild to see him not hitting but on base a lot.
Here’s where I disagree .. he wasn’t terrible to start the year .. he was getting A LOT OF WALKS so he was seeing the ball great . Ya he wasn’t crushing jokers homers but he was getting on base . And his glove and fielding are already shinning every game
Gunnar is the man. Anyone who says differently just isn't paying attention
Imagine saying he’s the man when he’s batting .236 😭
@@justindunn5548 .804 ops you goofy learn ball
@@justindunn5548 Imagine thinking batting average is the be-all-end-all stat in baseball to determine how good a player is
@@justindunn5548 *.246 with a .355 OBP and 10 bombs
Nice breakdown!! My sons fav player is Gunner! Go Os!
I don't know who he is but that young brother is hitting a lot of good ol' basses.
If we could get stronger in starting pitching skies the limit for the O's
the big difference i noticed is he never swung at low and away fastballs, so no matter the count that was always a free strike for pitchers (its also where he drew in a lot of walks, as pitchers were missing that spot off the plate cause they were scared to throw a strike), and he was whiffing on breaking balls. now he is swinging at everything with authority
The Orioles are stacked with good young talent: Rutchman, Henderson, Cowser, Holliday, Westburg, Rodriguez, Hall, and others in A ball who could be with the club in 2-4 years. Good time to be an O's fan!
Kjerstad could be the best of them all.
@@Lewis9700 Can't believe I forgot him.
@@Lewis9700
I think Kjerstad is going to have the most power when it's all said and done.
@@adamletschin7759 It is a great time to be an O's fan!
Boss level analysis
Glad he found his stroke, earlier this year he was sub .200. Glad he's mature enough to work through it and that the O's showed patience to let him figure it out in the show.
Gunnar's main problem starting off the season was the mere fact that he wasn't aggressive at the plate. I'm not sure if he wasn't seeing the pitches well, or if you just didn't feel like swinging, but he wasn't swinging often enough and he was letting good pitches go.
Derosa is such a master of the game, such great insight... top notch bud. Sheshhhh better analyst > player jajajajaajajajajajajajaj little more to go ajajajaaj Mark you the best!!
this is before his 3 hit game with a grand slam. unbelievable
Remember when we were saying the Os should send him down to AAA for a month or two?
Finally we get national attention. Lots of ball left
Just wait until future superstar Jackson Holiday comes up…they’re scary and their rebuild has been near perfect. Props
It’s always great to have a super versatile team with guys who can play well at several positions, but I feel like the O’s need to pick a permanent spot for Henderson. He’s absolutely incredible at both 3rd and Short, but I think they needs to choose 1 that he plays 95-99% of the time. As far as I know Jackson Holliday really only plays Short, but he may play 2nd sometimes, someone can fact check that. So I feel like their Infield for the future is Gunnar, Holiday, Westburg, and Mountcastle. Mountcastle at first, and then(IMO) Gunnar at third, Holliday at short, and Westburg at 2nd. Again, having versatility is great, but at some point you kind of have to pick set positions for your guys of the future.
Dro backkkk
Csnt believe we are only gonna be a wild card teams because of the rays
D Strawberry has the longest hr even in a regular season camden yards game off mussina at 465. Henderson has the longest onto Eutaw st at 462.
😎
Gunnar it’s reminds me a lot of Bryce Harper
Just wait til Jackson Holliday gets called up in a couple years
Is MLB Network complaining about camera angles of a team? How about we finally start to look at TV revenue and possibly of a shared system? It’s about time baseball even the playing field and make this a legit league.
When is DeRosa getting a managerial job in The Show? Baseball IQ is absurd!
Last time they did a break down on an Oriole, it was Jorge Mateo and he hasn't hit since. Better not jinx Gunner.
Makes me think wat r Yankees doing wen it's come to developing are young players to see young guys from other teams thrive along with struggles but thrive and r players seem to just be over hyped guys or Yankees wait to long to give them the chance
Terrible start with 350 OBP
Gunnar will be a Yankee, Angel, Dodger, Astro, Met, or Padre in a couple of years, along with most of the O’s good players.
Once again you're talking without merit. They haven't even hit their arbitration years so they're here for the foreseeable future.
Oh no Holliday will have to play
@@jasonpowell6096 lol, its the O's, they have a track record like every "money laundering" team to get rid of their stars
@@obiohaz6023 They let Manny walk and that's everybody? Who else?
The O's are my love being from Baltimore but I live in Nebraska. They do it every time they get a decent player. Machado, Gausman to name two. The O's wont pay the big contract. WE ARE THE MLBs farm team.
Rutschman ain't killing s**t. Huge disappointment.
