a little context for you :) - frank abagnale jr. is a con-man (portrayed by aaron tveit in the original broadway cast and leonardo dicaprio in the movie) and he explains at the beginning of the show that he's about to tell his story before he gets caught by fbi agent carl hanratty (norbert leo butz in the obc and tom hanks in the movie) in their cat-and-mouse game. in the middle of a con, frank falls in love with brenda (kerry butler in the obc and amy adams in the movie), but he can't fall in love because his job as a con-man is to run and not settle down. frank, because he's actually in love with brenda, tells her his identity and flees. brenda sings this song because hanratty has asked her to give frank's location away, but she doesn't want to do it because she's in love with frank.
overall, great job with this song! i sang it for my vocal juries last year and it's become one of my favorite musical theatre songs. amazing job with the big riff at the end!

I absolutely ADORE this song and LOVE this show. Funny note when it came out I actually worked for a company which had Frank Abagnale (what the movie / musicals life is about) as one of the advisors so we had tons of posters. This song is at the end, when Brenda (portrayed by. Kerry Butler) realizes that Frank is not coming back and was a scam artist and basically her life is crumbling a bit after this. So fly away is for Frank to get away.
