I understand why you do this, but I think a simple bit of black/yellow foam as it is, is best as the carp have to put it in its mouth to see and find out what it is without the scent.
An absolute game changer love this product so easy to use especially if you have fat sausage fingers like me lol first try had a 19lb mirror in February love em..

These don’t float ! Was the ring them out on the hot tub and 80 percent of the time they would sink
If your hook and liquid choice are sinking the zigs, simply use a bigger piece of foam...
They come with spares to do so 👍
