    Well done. I remember doing my IBT (same as CBT but I am in Ireland) about 2 years ago now and was a little nervous but when we started and I got in the zone it was great fun and a great experience. I have recently passed my test and got the full licence now too. I see this video is a little over 2 years now. Did you do your test?

  • @halfbakedproductions7887

    My local rider school claims that the CBT must, by law, feature at least 2+ hours out on live roads. That sounds like an awful lot and my regular car driving test was only 45 minutes or so.
    They have their whole course in for 9-5 on any given day. I'd like to do my CBT because I'm curious about motorbikes (never done it before), but don't have anyone who can help me out and there are no taster sessions around here. Only option is to pay for a full CBT day... sigh.

    • @MultiMb77
      @MultiMb77  Před 9 měsíci

      It’s not too bad though as the day is split into 3 sections, In a secure car park, classroom and then you only go out on the road if you are confident, do it, it’s the best thing I ever did

    Great video! I’m 35 I suffer really bad anxiety and with my nerves and I was told I’m so stiff on a bike I was doing ok on the pad then before going out on the road I just froze and then nerves went into over drive! So had to stop :-( but I’m going at it again I’m January, do you have any tips? As it’s always been my dream to ride a motorcycle.

    • @MultiMb77
      @MultiMb77  Před 2 lety +1

      I am totally with you on this one, nerves is horrible and so controlling. I suffer really bad with anxiety and its really unpleasant. I think the biggest bit of advice i can give, is dont think of the CBT as a test. They are only there to ensure you can ride safely. So on the day, you will have the classroom bit and then the practical. Get yourself totally relaxed at this point. Make friends with the instructor, and they will look after you and give you all the instruction you need. They don't expect you to be able to ride, so they guide you. It's a lot of fun, and treat it as a fun day. I know this is all easier said than done, but they won't "fail" you unless you can't do it. Just relax

    • @MultiMb77
      @MultiMb77  Před 3 lety +1

      Aww thanks so much, yes that’s right.. the theory test will need to be taken before you do your mod 1 & mod 2.. CBT is considered the first stage of training, as long as you don’t mind riding with L plates! Good luck with it, literally the best thing I ever did

    • @MultiMb77
      @MultiMb77  Před 2 lety

      If you want to continue riding without stepping up CC bikes, you just have to retake the CBT, it currently last 2 years. You will need to keep L plates on and every two years do the CBT, you won’t need to take theory every time! Hope this helps

    Unfortunately I failed my CBT today and I blame our instructor who was a old sergeant major type who kept barking orders at me which made my nerves go completely too pot. He had no patience whatsoever and was talking to me like I’d been riding bikes for years. He kept raising his voice constantly Nick picking at me, too much throttle, too little throttle, not enough clutch control, not doing this, not doing that, after few hours my hands and feet wouldn’t even work in conjunction with my brain, changing gear, using the clutch, applying the brakes, everything just went downhill all because this one instructor who I personally feel was in the wrong job. I’m going too rebook my CBT with a totally different school. I can’t risk having that same instructor again. So pissed off at him, I was already nervous and by the time I got off the bike I was even worse. Had I had someone who was more understanding, younger and had more patience im convinced I wouldn’t of made the mistakes I did. Plus the car park where we did the U turn and figure of 8 was absolutely tiny. It was hard enough just to turn the bike around never mind complete a figure of 8, plus he had that many cones on the floor, I couldn’t even work out what cones I was supposed to be circling for the figure of 8. He kept saying “it’s your money your wasting” like I was messing up on purpose. I might even ask if I can do my CBT on a automatic then go to a geared bike when I pass so I can work on my coordination with the gears and brakes etc.

      @MultiMb77  Před rokem

      Jesus, i am so sorry to hear this!! that's an absolute disgrace!. I promise you it went t1ts up because of the instructor. No trainer should ever treat a learner like that. The whole purpose is knowing that everyone is nervous, its not officially a test, but it certainly feels like it!.. Please don't let it get you down, get a different school and guy and you will smash it. If you have any places where you can go and speak with the school first,. this is a good way of knowing what the trainer will be like. Forget this test, and start fresh, you will breeze it with the right trainer.

      @@MultiMb77 thanks mate your words of support mean a lot. I honestly thought I’d be in for a exciting day ahead and it quickly turned into misery. It was like 4/5 hours of mental torture, then the other guy who was training he just naturally took to it better, some people do and more control he was pointing at him and saying “ look he’s doing it, why can’t you?” Like it was some kind of competition. In the end I was so physically and mentally drained I couldn’t even follow basic Manoeuvers, by brain just stopped working and all I wanted to do was get out of there. I took the bikers jacket off and I was soaked through my t shirt not from heat, but from the stress the vile instructor put me under. But I’m not going too let one arsehole get me down, or put me off, because I so desperately want to pass and get on the road. So I’ve spoken too another school who seem really nice, lots of younger instructors and I’ve seen the reviews and there all good. So booked in for 12th August and im going in fully confident and this time I will do it, show that idiot who put me down, he was wrong.🙂👍🏻
