Great video! I rode Walna Scar Road and Parkamoor and have to say much preferred Parkamoor, mostly because the climb up Walna Scar (I went round the Seathwaite route) really took it out of me. Also loved the Green Moor descent (where you went straight on at the tree) through the Bracken.
Belter of a ride mate. I did it around May time this year, the only problem I had was a double leg cramp of doom on the last road section back up to the car park at the end. Thanks so much for all these awesome videos and sharing the rides on strava. My garmin is stacked with your routes that I've done! All the best mate.
Thanks Mike. I found that last climb to be brutal after doing 26 miles. Thanks for watching. I love getting comments like this. Makes all the hard work and effort worth it
Stayed down in the Lodges in Hawkshead earlier this year and wish I knew about this loop. Used the Gravel bike for the main forest but going to be getting a new full sus for stuff like next year! Awesome video as always!
Fantastic ride mate, love the tracking device, well worth it if you ride solo a lot, total peace of mind, you were lucky not to crash into those sheep 🤣🤣 i loved grizedale when we did it, not sure if i could last 27 miles though lol, great video 👍
Just done this ride today, absolutely loved it, but it does look a lot different this time of year and in the rain. Your videos are excellent my friend, keep it up. 👍
Thanks again for the ride Andy, I do like the comments it feels like I’m on the ride with you, but at my age (76) I’d never keep up, so watching is the next best thing, keep em coming 🚴♂️🚴♂️
@@TrailFinder I have Andy, but the market changes so quickly, I understand your pal has just got a new one, could you let me know what he bought and the cost, maybe a video from you about his new ebike would be good.
Top notch mate, that singletrack over near Torver looks spot on. Walna is a massive disappointment now to what it used to be although there is still a decent section from the car park down to the town (and it's a bridleway too) 👍
Soon as I get to Walna scar road on this ride. I more or less class the ride over. And it’s just leg spinning back to the van. Up until then it’s a great ride. Across woodland fell is my fav bit. Nothing technical. Just a great fast blast between the bracken
Never knew that about offset, really enjoyed your little lesson there and hopefully will be far better when descending at speeds. Need to check mine now because if it can get more stable at speeds I want that and need it with Jason and lads 🤣 This looks a great ride will finish watching video now, as not even half way through. On a side note, one thing I really love in your editing, your transitions are always smooth, slick and fit the clip 👌 bang on everytime!! Right back to the video, good chat 🤣
It’s great. Tested it at hamsterley last week. Can weight the front a lot easier. As the wheel is closer to me with the reduced offset. Giving more grip and confidence.
@@TrailFinder sounds the perfect set up mate, we will pop you behind Jason once more to find out if okay with you 🤣 Great video mate, those sheep certainly had a surprise lol, and loving the sound of slate. Big ride, but worth it. "Thst is why I called myself Trail Finder 🤣", cracked me up that
Great re-shoot Andy will get this ride done eventually its been saved in my garmin for about 6 months now 😂 probably hold off until next spring/summer to get the best conditions 👍
Like you, I use a Garmin comp for exploration rides. I bought Talky Toaster maps which overlay onto the Garmin navigation, but gives much better detail of the terrain than the standard Garmin maps. You might be interested as it certainly helps when you get well out of the way or on to open moorland. Cheers
Another great ride ; we’ve taken to herding loose sheep into the nearest available field on some rides just to keep them off the road, bet theres been some farmers scratching their heads this summer lol. Would be great to watch a demo of the garmin by someone that uses it a lot for exactly the same things we do. Plenty of people do video but none showing what the maps look like or how the directions are dished out etc , 😉
I pre-program routes into my Garmin GPSmap 62s using an openmap (vectorised so you can zoom right in and better detail than OS) and mounted on handlebars - invaluable. As you know some bridleways are not used any more and the OS map can be misleading so use satellite imagery also when creating a route.
Did the ride today on the eMtB plus the ride up from Grizdale Visitors Centre, adds about 10miles on. Komoot changes it slightly I think, but really enjoyed it, 3hours and 625W battery. Legs are toast! Thanks for posting 😀
Glad you enjoyed it. What’s grizedale like for trees down Garry. Was thinking about riding there tomorrow. Website says a lot is closed. But don’t think it’s been updated for a while
@@TrailFinder didn’t really ride anywhere apart from to the start of your route, some of the trails still say closed but I didn’t see anything down today or over the paths. Saw they had cleared a few of the fallen trees, so could be ok.
Interesting what you were saying about fork offset, I've never had the chance to test back to back so wondered whether the difference would be that noticeable, obviously is!
Completely different bike, very confidence inspiring after I swapped them over, I got fast on the bike pretty much after the swap, and now I have a coil out back, I’m flying on the thing, love it

Great video and thanks for sharing the route ! Incredible views and experience when the weather's like that and the trails are epic. That's interesting knew offset was thing (distance from the bottom of the fork to the centre of the wheel axel, right). I had no idea the difference was in the fork crown. Everyday is a school day! I've just upgraded and had no choice but to adjust the offset by a couple of mm's... hopefully it's ok.
Great vid as always Andy, thanks again for taking the time to film and edit, deffo in my plans to do this loop, just not sure my 540 watt battery and my level of fitness atm would see me through the full loop, has your pal with the e-bike managed this on 1 battery?

It’s only £3 per week rich. If you ride alone a lot. Or ride where there is no phone signal a lot. It is well worth it. If you or anyone you were guiding crashed in the middle of no where, and you pressed that button on the side a helicopter would turn up to rescue you
