    If could add anything is. Go to your local music shop and play a few of these kits before purchasing one. I own an alesis dm10 and the cymbals were atrocious. The high hat timing for opening and closing was not even close to opening and closing in time. The crashes and ride only trigger half the time. In what I’ve spent upgrading components that didn’t work very good right out of the box. I could have just bought a better kit.

      Titan 70 probably because of the price. theres even an argument that can be made that the Titan 70 is BETTER than the 1250. but if youre someone who is very serious about authentic-acoustic feel, the 1250 is the way to go. but even the 70 is a force to be reckoned with in that regard. watch/read some reviews and above all, go with your gut!

    I have an Alesis Nitro Max, and it smashes my Roland TD11KV into the park regarding drum sounds - there isn't ONE set of toms on the Roland that I'm happy with, and just like the Roland, you have to create your own user kits to create something good. There are plenty of great sounds on the Max, you just need to have a good drum ear to pick them out. The cymbals could do with a few more good crashes, but with pitch control and EQ they work as is.
    I think the Simmons kits come out with better factory kits, that's what I've picked up, so you don't need to tweak as much, but I'm not happy with most modules, the guys in the R & D deff don't have a good ear for putting good factory kits together, even the high end kits.
    I listened to a review of the Roland TD - 27K2 the other day and I wasn't impressed - the toms sound too digital and vague. I think the 1st TD - 17 sounded better.
    I've done a few covers on my channel with my Max and I think it sounds great.
    People complain about the rack, and it isn't great, but heck even my TD11KV wobbles.
    When I set my kits up, I use a spirti level to make sure the horizontal cross pieces are 100% level, I also noticed that the rubber boots on the vertical posts were not put on properly and I had to push them on more. Then after a few days I re - tightened everything and after a few weeks checked the Allen screws again. When you do it like that, you'll have less issues - if you watch me play my kit, it doesn't wobble - AT ALL. I hardly play my Roland anymore.
    I bought the Max because it's light and easy to cart around to gigs and practices, the roland is a tank,and also because I watched as many reviews as I could, and I heard that there were good sounds on the module.
    I'm not interested in vst's, I want a module that sounds good, I don't want to cart more stuff around.
    The phone /tablet shelf is rubberised so nothing will fall off. The Bluetooth works flawlessly, the mesh pads feel great. The Hihat pedal is as good as my Roland as is the bass drum pad and pedal.
    The Nitro Max is lightweight, sounds great and I've had zero issues with this kit.
    I love it and would have to spend a lot of money to get something that sounded better.
    I will be making a vdo soon on the user kits I've put together.
    PS: The Nitro Max is actually a dual zone module, I noticed the stereo jacks when I was putting mine together, and plugged in one of my Roland pads and its dual zone - only the pads on the Max are single zone except the snare - so I reckon in the near future we'll have the Nitro Max II with dual zone pads! 👍🏻

      I haven’t had the opportunity to play the Yamaha but i remember doing a spec comparison of one against the Titan 50 and it didn’t compete. • @SimpleAndyRock
      @SimpleAndyRock Před 7 měsíci

      Get the yamaha...
      The simmons titan 70 samples sound like it is playing the same sample at every velocity, but just changing in volume. It makes for a very poorly dynamic feel.
      The yamaha you can close your eyes and it sounds and feels better than most high end rolands (except for the pads being small).
      Td50x is my personal and favorite ekit. Yamaha dtx6 series however are the best value innthe market.
      @keithronpowell, give the yamaha a shot. It's like the titan 70, while running a vst at the same time (it has those dynamics the simmons kits are missing)

    • @paulbfields8284

    U have said in a past video and dont mark my words but something like it may seem that ur just a bigger fan of simmons than alesis. Its safe to say thats true. U always choose simmons over alesis. I think Simmons is throwing u a bone or something because ur always giving them better reviews than Alesis. And what do u know in the end u talk about the simmons being the best.

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Or… Simmons is better… how about this.. have you watched the videos where I go spec for spec? The ones where I provide points? If you do you’ll see I’m being beyond fair. Not to mention… if you walk into GC where people are actually paid by THE OWNER OF SIMMONS! You’ll see they will only push Alesis. I don’t get anything special in fact, every drum I’ve received was free! GC provides both the simmons and the Alesis for review… if I’m getting both what is the advantage to choose Simmons? The truth is Alesis drums are over hyped! In the store they demo the $2600 drum and say, “See, Alesis better than Simmons.” Then people go and buy the cheaper Alesis drum without giving the Simmons a fair shot. A $2500 drum should be better than a $700 set. But what about equal drums? Now what happens? So, yep I talk about apples to apples. Pound for pound Simmons is better! The stats suggest it. If it weren’t I’d say so.

    • @IansDrumsandBass
      @IansDrumsandBass Před 5 měsíci

      Alesis does often get a bad rap, especially when they released the Strike Pro - it had too many issues, and even the SE has had a few issues, but it certainly sounds GREAT! They messed up by releasing those kits too soon without checking them out properly. It was a bad move. But they're not one of the biggest instrument companies in the world for nothing. They make great stuff - I had an Alesis Control Pad with my Roland TD - 6V via midi and never had an issue.
