- Masik (pronounced Ma-seek) was so scared of people and on this mission, you will see Loreta Frankonyte at full speed after him! I am so happy I caught this whole thing on camera :-)

The fact that he was fighting, even being so injured, shows his heart for survival. That heart served him well.
Or that he thought from experience that the pain he was going through while running with a broken pelvis was better than the pain at the hands of a human..
To revolt (in this case to struggle)is a natural tendency of life. Even a worm turns against the boot that crushes it. In general, the vitality and relative dignity of an animal can be measured by the intensity of it's instinct to revolt
@@pigeonlove Just fear, I think. It's the instinct of every injured animal to fight off strangers and be extra defensive. It's not even conscious it's just instinct.
@@shaik1982 This. Small dogs tend to be Fear Biters even healthy. Injury makes it worse. Ask any Vet or Vet Tech which dogs they tend to be cautious around and every one named will be on the smaller side.

John Sumner I think Masik runs slow because of injury. Probably the reason why she looked lik she was running faster
Looked like she was running pretty fast to me! Even with an injury dogs are pretty fast. One thing you can consider is animals ignore pain better than us. My dog hit her head on the corner of our cement patio and it made a loud pop sound and she kept running like nothing happened. I would have been on the ground crying or at least whining. Plus they both probably had a lot of adrenaline running through them during that chase.

That's insane, his life went from living hell to paradise. I wonder what it must seem like to him - how vividly does a dog remember things like that?
They know. But they are SUPER resilient, of both body and mind, I've seen dogs I was preparing to bury make a recovery, and others that were so broken in their heads I was scared they would be have to be put down, manage to adapt to peace and love. But it's still there, inside, they remember, from the dog who was beaten wincing when he sees a stick, to some dogs just NOT liking other dog breeds cause they were baited against them, etc. We simplify their existance by saying "oh they are as smart as a 5 yr old" or w/e number, but that doesn't do them justice: I've taught dogs things that 5 yr olds would never be able to master.
I hope he doesn’t remember the hell, only the paradise part of his life.
About as good as it gets. Seemed like the men there at the job really cared about the poor dog.....men with hearts.

She’s been a gorgeous pet for over 11 years now, but she hates white dogs. She barks and barks whenever she sees one. Something happened with a white dog(s) that is embedded in her memory. The years have not changed that….it’s just part of her.

All they can do is prove themselves to each dog through constant gentle care. Care IS a verb, not a adjective, after all.

"Masik" really means "sweet little one" in Russian. That is the name of my cat. I gave him this name when he was a sweet little kitten. Now he is a BIG boy, but still sweet and very affectionate.
Just look at him through binoculars facing the wrong way. That'll fix it.

The dog also had a broken pelvis. Not sure how he could run that fast on 3 legs, must have been agony.

I think it's so interesting that so many of the dogs relax once the leash is on. They often associate that with a "good" thing -- like a walk or car ride. This boy was no different. Amazing.

Most dogs are more afraid than mean. But a scared dog can hurt you bad and they don't intend to they are just afraid.

This broke my heart. Poor dog was starving and scared to death and still ran and fought even with the tremendous pain from that broken hip. And now look...happy! Dogs are beyond amazing. I hope this dog gets the best home a dog's EVER had.

The short moments Masik ran away from the rescuers were surely some of the scariest of his life.
Even injured, he realize he was fighting for his life.
In those few seconds, he knew his life could end if he failed to hide himself.
When I try to imagine how I'd feel if it was me in his place, I can't avoid the tears.
The fear of being hurt or tortured he felt... how sad. 😔
He’s alright actively turning about with friends around him! Thank god this rescue has been meaningful !
I love when the guy who has been feeding the doggo gets a pat on his back from his coworker. What a heartwarming moment.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly just a little love and a lot of medical care turn these formerly homeless pups into loving, playful companions! And God Bless Mr. Mike for feeding this little guy and caring enough to reach out to Hope for Paws! That's a man with a good heart - you could tell by how happy he was once HfP caught the pup!
Hi Helen. That rush of relief was the happy result of numerous sleepless nights and many days of worries severe: this rescue was the culmination of several weeks and one failed attempt when Masik ran away. He returned about two weeks later with injury. I was determined to not let this little fella down.
I am thankful for the loving care and real concern that the guys at Hope for Paws share. They are so special. I cannot thank them enough.

I love how quickly he recognized that y'all were there to help. Dogs just instinctively want to be part of a pack and we are part of that pack for them. He looks a lot like my little girl and I could just imagine what she would look like if she had endured all of that. I'm so glad he is recovering and getting healthier and happier.

Masik's story is the one that mostly touched me.
I can put me in the little dog shoes.
How frightened he was to, even so hurt on his legs, run with all his forces.
I also can imagine how desperate he feels when reached and captured by Loretta.
Surely thought to himself: it's indeed my life's end, but I will not fall without fighting.
His desperately running away, being terribly injured shows how afraid he was of being killed.
It fills my heart with compassion and sadness.
Loreta turned on the jets to catch him! Also, the one guy patting his buddy on the back was getting congratulated for getting a hug from Loreta. 😬

24K InfO that one dog that bit you shouldn’t make you hate them all. Dogs are proven to be one of the most loyal animals in the world, and that’s why so many cold hearted people are mean to them. A dog could have an owner that beats and starves them, but they would still love and protect them no matter what.

I do too. Someone comes and saves them, organises their life, gives them free medical care in a safe environment and loves them for nothing other than their existance. Maybe if I go back to being homeless someone will save me. Doubt it tho, I'm not as cute as these little dudes.
Some people have the touch: that abused, terrified dog let the woman pick him up. It took her just a few seconds to gain that dog's trust after she ran him down. That was sweet.
There is no 'touch' it's skills, talent, intelligence and experience
