IMO this was done so that Mercer would not have "the hood" within view of their campus. Sure it needed to be repaired, but the reason behind it happening now vs years ago is Mercer.

Olokunful Mercer has been there since the 1800’s. So They knew they were building Tyndall heights near the school. So tearing it down because you could see “the hood” from the school makes no sense. “The hood” stood in Mercer’s view for 70 years before they tore them down to build a “new hood” that will still be in the schools view. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Mercer plays no role in this. 😅The plumbing & electrical was going bad in many of the units and they were expensive to maintain because there were so old. It was time to rebuild. Were they supposed to wait until the units were unlivable or falling apart first?

We need so much more of this! So many areas need to be tore down and replaced with something nicer! We need reason to be proud and to take pride into our community we need new hope.
