@@adrianagurnsey5505 sorry for the late reply. The second week was the worst. Just burning and pain. By the third week I was back to normal just fighting the itch. A couple rashes appeared on my back but it wasn’t from the shingles.. just from itching around it. I’ve tried numerous lotions (aquafor and equate hydrocortisone) but what worked for me was Dr teals eucalyptus and spearmint oil. I am finally back to normal but just have some scars from the shingles. Hopefully it goes away in meantime but definitely the eucalyptus oil/bath worked for me and cut down my healing time. I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy. The pain is no joke. I took oatmeal bath, Epsom salt and vinagar bath, camomile baths, and baking soda and vinegar. I also used aloe Vera for soothing my skin. All these homeopathic remedies speeded up my recovery and made it bearable.
Just over a month ago I got shingles. While I was on vacation. At 26 years old, what started as a sore back ended as shingles. I suffered from a simple lower back pain and used some pain relief spray and the next morning I saw painful rash around my hip and lower back. Yup,it sucks,hopefully you caught it early, I went an got valtrex the first day I noticed sore on my forehead so it cleared up pretty quick an didn't spread.just don't itch or touch them.the swollen glands were more bothersome to me than the sores.it took about ten days for glands to go down an about two weeks for sores to heal up completely.

I’m on my fourth week with shingles on my right mid back one small rash and another tiny rash between my breast and back. Took Valacyclovir for seven days but the rashes are still there and it feels like my right breast is swollen as well as right next to ny breast between the breast and back! Just came back from the ER today. The rash on my forehead but I thought they were 3 bug bites and my lympnodes are swollen on the left side. Went in and the doctor knew almost immediately, he tested my eye because the rash was near but eye is fine. Those who never experience this are lucky because it sucks.
This is good intro to Shigles but does not reflect the intense pain. I have had it now for about 3 weeks, Rash scabbed over and cleared pretty much by end of first week with antiviral meds. The pain has continued, affected area where rash was is numb and surrounding it feels like worst sunburn you can get. In addition the nerve endings in the spine feel like sword in back with shooting pain, Under are also intense sharp pain. Bottom line is that Shingles is not merely a rash and goes away when rash does. Gabapentin kind of works for me, but still on Oxicodone. All I can say is DAMN!

I tried everything. The only thing that worked was del a Cruz sulfur ointment for acne. It dries up acne and it dried up the shingles sores and almost took away all the pain. You don't rinse off the sulfur ointment. Just reapply daily and in a few days the shingles is gone and you just have to scrape off the scabs

.Regardless though if you suspect you have shingles go get it checked out immediately. Acyclovir (sp?) and other similar drugs are significantly more effective the earlier you take them. For reference I had shingles on my back, it was about the size of a lemon (the rash patch) which is pretty tiny all things considered, yet it was still by a wide margin the most painful experience I have ever had. Shingles is no joke.

My left abdomen is swelled & i have blisters (shingles) on my stomach to back area and it feels burning and itching. This is horrible than chicken pox. @@adrianagurnsey5505 sorry for the late reply. The second week was the worst. Just burning and pain. By the third week I was back to normal just fighting the itch. A couple rashes appeared on my back but it wasn’t from the shingles.. just from itching around it. I’ve tried numerous lotions (aquafor and equate hydrocortisone) but what worked for me was Dr teals eucalyptus and spearmint oil. I am finally back to normal but just have some scars from the shingles. Hopefully it goes away in meantime but definitely the eucalyptus oil/bath worked for me and cut down my healing time. I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy. The pain is no joke. I took oatmeal bath, Epsom salt and vinagar bath, camomile baths, and baking soda and vinegar. I also used aloe Vera for soothing my skin. All these homeopathic remedies speeded up my recovery and made it bearable.
Just over a month ago I got shingles. While I was on vacation. My inside of my mouth was covered with the sores, my tongue, roof of my mouth, my lips and I had Bell’s Palsy on the right side of my face. At 26 years old, what started as a sore back ended as shingles. I suffered from a simple lower back pain and used some pain relief spray and the next morning I saw painful rash around my hip and lower back. I thought I had an allergic reaction to pain relief spray. Next day it became worse and the pain was something I had never experienced before and the first time I saw blisters. It was shooting pain that came in waves. I had to sleep on one side and any thing that touched it just hurt. The next day at the urgent care I was told I had shingles and was prescribed with medicine. All this was accompanied by a viral fever. This is the worst.

I just had it! The pain is no joke, it strikes me 3xper minute on my head, left arms and my left hand got swolen crying with pain all day and night. Yup,it sucks,hopefully you caught it early, I went an got valtrex the first day I noticed sore on my forehead so it cleared up pretty quick an didn't spread.just don't itch or touch them.the swollen glands were more bothersome to me than the sores.it took about ten days for glands to go down an about two weeks for sores to heal up completely.

Calamine with anti itch! I got the spray and it saved me a lot of pain i think. It literally numbs the areas and you can get through it. It’s not a cure but it soothed the areas a lot. Good luck.

I’m on my fourth week with shingles on my right mid back one small rash and another tiny rash between my breast and back. Took Valacyclovir for seven days but the rashes are still there and it feels like my right breast is swollen as well as right next to ny breast between the breast and back! It’s very sensitive to the touch and I still get a shooting pain on the side of my right breast now and then.
I’m just so scared that this will last for a long time. Every day I pray that it leaves me alone. It’s making me depressed and I wonder how I will deal with it while I’m working ( going back to work in a week from now. )

Just came back from the ER today. The rash on my forehead but I thought they were 3 bug bites and my lympnodes are swollen on the left side. Went in and the doctor knew almost immediately, he tested my eye because the rash was near but eye is fine. Those who never experience this are lucky because it sucks.
This is good intro to Shigles but does not reflect the intense pain. I have had it now for about 3 weeks, Rash scabbed over and cleared pretty much by end of first week with antiviral meds. The pain has continued, affected area where rash was is numb and surrounding it feels like worst sunburn you can get. In addition the nerve endings in the spine feel like sword in back with shooting pain, Under are also intense sharp pain. Bottom line is that Shingles is not merely a rash and goes away when rash does. Gabapentin kind of works for me, but still on Oxicodone. All I can say is DAMN!

I have it right Now. Its like a mild form of nightmare. Any action I take causes pain and sometimes this intense pain appears and stays for hours. Even though I don't have a flu or anything it is very uncomfortable. The worst thing about this is that you cannot really do anything about it but wait. I don't want to screw my pancreas by taking strong medicine. What seems to help a bit is tea tree oil - it dries the sores for a short period of time yet causing immense burning sensation. I just wish all of this was over. Its crazy.

What helps to ease the pain is IBUPROFEN - it is a moderate painkiller. Did magic for me, I was taking half a pill when I just could not take it anymore while being at work.

I get shingles on my lower back. I use applecider vinegar, tea tree oil and hydrogen peroxide interchangeably. Not too much because it irritates it if dried and treated too quickly then put on aloe vera which really reduces redness. Usually gone within the week.

very informative. just one thing you forgot is that shingles can cause nerve pain which was the most painful experience i have ever had been through. i think its called PNS. it was horrible. i had shingles in my right eye. LITERALLY inside my eye. it has caused permanent damage and left a huge scar on my right side of my nose.

1:53, does it mean shingles can occur to someone who had chickenpox before by obtaining the varicella virus from someone else instead of activation of the dormant zoster virus?
I tried everything. The only thing that worked was del a Cruz sulfur ointment for acne. It dries up acne and it dried up the shingles sores and almost took away all the pain. You don't rinse off the sulfur ointment. Just reapply daily and in a few days the shingles is gone and you just have to scrape off the scabs

.Regardless though if you suspect you have shingles go get it checked out immediately. Acyclovir (sp?) and other similar drugs are significantly more effective the earlier you take them.
For reference I had shingles on my back, it was about the size of a lemon (the rash patch) which is pretty tiny all things considered, yet it was still by a wide margin the most painful experience I have ever had. Shingles is no joke.

Oh this is very very painful disease and I'm in very much pain in my left lower abdomen and skin burning from half belly to back side on the left side. My left abdomen is swelled & i have blisters (shingles) on my stomach to back area and it feels burning and itching.
This is horrible than chicken pox.
