Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2019 Champion | Kabkaban Festival Carcar | HD Quality Ritual Showdown

Kabkaban Festival is a ritual dance believed to be a way of driving away bad spirits. The term is taken from a kind of grass that is so abundant in the place. Through the inspiration of Val Sandiego, the Kabkaban celebration today is given much attention by the Carcaranons and visitors from other places. This annual activity is one of the highlights of Carcar’s fiesta in honor of its patroness, St. Catherine of Alexandria.
Carcar is known for its locally-made shoes. Bolo making and basket weaving are also some of the prevalent cottage industries among the Carcaranons are also into wooden furniture manufacturing and antique reproduction.
The Kabkaban festival celebrates every November 24-25.
It won first place in the Ritual Showdown competition and was also the winner in the Street Dancing competition. It was likewise named Best in Festival Costume and Best in Festival Jingle.
The victory in the major competitions came in the heels of the crowning of Marla Alfoque, Kabkaban Festival’s lead dancer, as the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival Queen 2019.

No wonder Kabkaban ang nadaog... tungod sa kalimpyo sa ilang sayaw... di maka da og samok ang props nya mas na emphasize ang view sa audience more on sa dancers kaysa sa props nga usahay mo da na og samok nya simplicity sa dance steps nga gipa emphasize og pag ayu mao nang mura syag complex tan awon pero simple ra siya yet so perfect nya over all hanaw kaau ang sayaw na occupy sa mga dancers ang tibuok stage di kay ang props kay mo occupy sa stage... basta mao nana ang akong maingon kung nganong nakadaog ang kabkaban festival... Hopefully next year mo apil ang Compostela ang QUESEO FESTIVAL....
