- The Airbus A220. Bombardier's ultimate project bought by Airbus that is now becoming super successful. After a few years of watching these aircraft taxi around airports, takeoff & land in front of my eyes, and having to edit my mom's footage shot on a Swiss A220-100 before me, I finally got my chance to ride on this amazing plane. And it truly is amazing...innovative, new, and exciting. It's small, but it doesn't feel small. I could've flown on it longer, but an almost 2 hour flight was enough to get the gist of what it's about. In this video, after a short but sweet stay in Boston, Massachusetts, I needed to head back to the DMV and instead of taking the train back I flew back through Detroit. Hope you guys enjoy!

Respect for that taxi driver!
I flew on a Delta A220-100 IAH-LGA then the same thing LGA-IAH - and I have to say it was nice. I flew unaccompanied Minor and they took very good care of me and I loved flying on it. Seats were big. Windows were huge. Isle wasn’t small. Overhead bins were big. No major complains other than the people sitting next to me crowded me with ALL of their stuff and took all the armrest so it wasn’t all the comfortable. But my flight going to LGA couldn’t have been more perfect. I cannot wait to fly on it again
I flew on an Delta A220-100 SEA-TAC to DEN INTL, I kid you not the A220 is one of the most comfortable planes you could be on, for a plane that small with that big of windows and perfect flight attendants I actually felt happy then. One of the best planes
One of my favorite aircraft! I am saddened Canada couldn't make it successful. Boeing should have kept it's nose out. They got bit hard in the end.
Boeing is killing it's self. They need to fire the CEO and all the mangers that only looking at their paychecks. They are not engineers. Quality is more important than quantity.
hi, I flew DL A220-100 DEN-SLC..absolutly stunning plane and i went on B6 TPA-BOS on the A220-300, B6 has bit more leg room and is more comfy, but the A220 is near the top of my fav. smaller planes to fly.good stuff.
Makes me want to change my AA reservation to Delta! Looks really good.
The Delta Airbus A220s are the nicest aircrafts out there in the skies today
Gotta love the a220 noises
The A220 looks great, and nice to see the A terminal at BOS. And the tunnels on the way - last port I departed from pre-pandemic
Just flew Delta A220 rountrip Boston -> Dallas in First Class. Amazing.
The door mat still says C-Series. I love it.
Bombardiers revenge.
Chris, fantastic video presentation! Keep up the good work!
I don't think the tram was operating again yet at Detroit in March due to COVID which sucked for passengers making a connecting flight across Concourse A at DTW, all the other airports in the U.S. kept their trains/trams/shuttles running except Detroit
I love the videos.
This last October I flew from Oregon to California on southwest airlines and I loved it.
The crew was so nice and the flight was smooth. It was my first time flying by myself and I am glad I did it by myself yes I'm very proud of it
Looks like a great cabin ! Thanks for the video !
Great intro with solid music and video editing……(as usual!) First time I have seen a lav with a window!!! Looks like I am going to have to try this aircraft out just for the fun of it 👌
That is Canadian engineering. Also known as the Bombardier “C” series jet before airbus started making them.
And us Canadians consider it our Patriotic Duty to remind everyone for the rest of time that the French just nabbed this from us at the last minute and renamed it
Really nice plane
They making business jet a220
Acj a220-100
@@maccarr9923yep. Airbus bought it for a dollar. Of course it’s a little more complicated than that. Canada not making such great decisions these days which is a shame because it’s a beautiful country with lots of great people
Cheers
@@tomdavis3038 Actually making terrible decisions around our aviation industry is nothing new unfortunately
Great video, Chris! That interior is amazing! Keep it up!
“…and a TINY water bottle” EXACTLY!!!
Great review! I love the Delta a220.
Super entertaining and educational video! Thank you for your good work.
I'm starting to likes theses more and more. I know I said a few videos back I liked the ones with just with the subtitles. Now I'm actually getting into you talking. Keep up the amazing work
Glad you enjoyed the originally Canadian (Bombardier) plane. We Canucks are proud of it.
6:33 that noise is perfectly normal on a220 aircraft. We live over a major flight path, and the A220s very regularly make that noise. It apparently happens when the throttle level gets changed on the new geared turbofan engines. From 2000 feet up, it sounds quite a lot like a whale call. Other than that noise, The A220 is the quietest aircraft by far!!
Great trip report! Interesting about the Uber/Lyft situation. Good to know
This video gave me so much joy.
Absolutely fantastic video Chris! This is truly an amazing aircraft!😸
Hey Life's Ups and Downs! Did you see my recent email?
@@BluegrassElevators hey Andrew, yep!
Great trip report!
Such a beautiful aircraft! I was supposed to fly on a Delta A220 earlier this year but had to reschedule my flight to March--now it's coming up in 2 weeks! It will be a THREE hour flight from Seattle to Tucson in Main cabin, then when I return to Seattle, I'm booked in the Comfort + cabin, so I can check out different areas of plane. Delta has a pretty big hub in Seattle, and a lot of 220s fly in and out...sometimes passing by my house. That aircraft makes a unique sound that I understand from research has something to do with changing engine thrust. It's a weird "creeaak"-squeal that I've seen described as sounding like a whale! It is sometimes loud enough that I can hear it INSIDE my house when the flight path approaching Sea-Tac is taking traffic over my area. So I know when an A220 is passing by! And I can hardly wait to fly on it and make my own video about the experience! 😀
Hope the Lyft guy got a decent tip for saving the trip!
Hey, love the video! Being a Michigan Native and the #OfficialCZcamsr of The Detroit Airport (DTW) I like seeing people go to DTW! Next time you come to DTW let me know I’d love to say hey!!
Cheers!

The A220 is a high bucket list aircraft for me to fly. Thankfully it flies to my home airport!
I'm itching to get on this plane so bad! Great video! I'm 6'7" so it looked like I might actually have some leg room in economy on this plane! haha. The A220 and the A350 are at the top of my list to fly on next!
Love this video!!! I am flying to Boston from MSY and connecting to Heathrow!! Sweating the connection though!! Hope 1hr 50 min is enough time!!!
I fucking love this plane, it's so comfortable and shows the industry commitment to greater paxex. Plus the range on both the -100 and -300 variants is wild and doesn't guzzle a ton of kerosene
I should be flying on an A220 next month with Breeze, I’m really looking forward to it. I’m also hoping to fly an A220 with JetBlue soon. 🤞🏻
Finally an Airbus A220 video from this CZcamsr
The A220 and the 717 have a couple amount in common.
Similar seat load, and both a case of being designed by different companies than they were marketed by.
The intro sequence is beautiful bro !!
Hey thejazzguy, love your videos! there videos you don't wanna miss! I have a question, or request, is there a vid soon were you departure/arrival in Toronto Pearson international?!

(Great job on the vid, Chris! Love the "loo with a view" :))
Awesome
I saw a Delta a220 at San Antonio and at the time I did not know delta flew them. There was also a JetBlue a220 at the gate right next to it. Truth be told I would love to fly one.
I flew DL's a220 from SFO to DEN via LAX in comfort plus and first. They are nice planes. I'm hoping to try it again on a longer flight ( dfw to jfk) if only to see what the service is like. I'm giving JetBlue's a220 a try soon and love to try the version on AC, LX and AF.
I’m from Detroit and that terminal is my favorite
Nice!
This one is not really a small Jet. Nice Video!!!
6:35 yes that sound is normal with these new super High Bypass Ratio Engines. Same Sound on the Embraer E2 as well for example. Called "Vulcan Howl".
Thanks for visiting my hometown airport, Bos Logan
I just flew out of A last week.. nice terminal..
Uber drivers in Boston always asker me this question, “where are you from?”
Boston is a tourist trap so it makes sense.
So can wait to pass through Detroit in April
i flew on N109DU in June of 2021 and all though it was out of slc, i was connected through slc from boston. what a coincidence although not really lol.
DTW my home airport what did you think of it some don’t like it but I think it’s cool and also I love the a220 and delta on all there planes is pretty good I havnt flown any a220s yet but hopefully soon and that’s kinda weird it looks like they put you at a widebody gate next to another FAV of mine the 767
I rode deltas a220-100 from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to JFK and it was extremely nice, beautiful comfy leather seats, massive displays huge overhead bins and lots of room even for economy
I also love the ambient lighting
For the part that said “is that normal” it is, the a220-100 I rode made that sound as well, the Pratt & Whitney’s on the a220 sound like that
Hey thejazzguy Have A Wonderful Flight
Also, That Alaksa Airlines Flies There Boeing 737-900ER From Seattle To Pasco Everyday
Funny how the registration is N109DU and there are 109 seats
I recently flew Delta's a-220 (for the first time) bos-ord, and I was stuck in the center of the 3-across side, after having been confirmed for a window seat. I was NOT impressed, and just thank goodness the flight wasn't longer. I much prefer the Embraer's 2x2 seating on these compact jets.
Watching this entire vid makes me want to give the delta a220 a try. I didn’t know there really wasn’t such a thing until a year or two later after they started entering service.
it is really quiet.
@@badgerattoadhall yeah true. I think I kind of payed attention to the fact that it is.
Some day when you fly through Detroit, you have to show people both the tram and the tunnel between the main terminal and the outer terminals (B & C)!
I've never had the need to go over there in the countless times going thu DTW haha but I agree 👍🏻
@@thejazzguy13 how do i film on airplanes like you do?
Landing in DTW, I always listen to ICP.
I like the landing music, whom is that?
And yes that sound at takeoff is normal
This is not a regional jet…This is not a regional jet…This is not a regional jet…This is not a regional jet… FINE! IT IS!
You will usually find these going to Texas (DFW, IAH, and AUS especially)
Hey man my name is Tom next time you're in Boston let me know I will buy you lunch I know all the great fantastic places to eat. I spent 15 years as ramp service for United Airlines at Logan and I also worked ramp service 3 years for Pan Am All I've told about 22 years in the airline industry the line industry so let me know next time we are in Boston my friend I hope you had fun
This trip is part of Chris's vacation to Kalispell Montana and Glacier National Park!!!
March 2021 Delta was the only carrier still blocking middle seats
Yikes, all the taxis in Boston were also not available? That's scary.
That noise it made before takeoff is normal
nice plane....the bumps would ruin it a little bit for me though as well...
Do all a220-100’s have TV’s on the back of the headrest?
March 2021 still empty at some airports
Aye flying to my Detroit city 👍
🤙🏻🤙🏻
will you fly from Macedonia SKopje to Germany Franfurt Hahn with wizz air?
March 28th 2021 was a day before my 15th birthday
What's the name of the song at the end and who made it?
how do I film on airplanes like jazzguy13?
1:55 is when his flight starts
It almost looks like a Fokker 100 judging by the windows.
Whale engine sound at takeoff is normal for Airbus A220 aircrafts
I am herring the A220 suppose be replacing the Boeing 717 soon.
lol the intro
He forgot to mention the window in the bathroom!
Do you know who Acid Aviation is?
4:20, PERFECT time of day!
a 109 seat a/c isnt going to replace a 140-150 seat a/c
Cabs still exist
Nice airplane and nice airport it is way better than Toronto Pearson airport that was gloomy and outdated.
Next flight up Detroit to Salt Lake City then Salt Lake City to Kalispell Montana
shut up bro

Big Boeing fan growing up. It seems to have entered that phase where it buoys its credibility on a reputation built by folks who no longer exist. Boeing saw the future was smaller capacity using direct routes… BUT: no clean-sheet design; nah: just tweak the 737 yet again. Bombardier hit this out of the park! Boeing employed unscrupulous big fish tactics instead of innovation, and Airbus bought the rights to properly check that foul, and get the right machine to do exactly the job it was sorely needed to do. This generation of Boeing’s upper management has corroded its sprit.

Looks great, but until you work with them. They are a disaster.
Oh for God's sake. It is a cattle car by any thinking persons observation. If you had to do more than an hour, or an hour and a half, you'd want to slit your own wrists. Domestic flying, (DL, AA, UA, etc), it's a shit show at best. I don't care how you try to dress it up for your channel here, domestic flying in the US of A is, at it's best, crap. This from a recently retired f/a, who started new way, way back in April of 1976. Yes, 1976. Worked for a "legacy" carrier, which is still around today, in a morphed version of what it was over many mergers, acquisitions, bankruptcy "bargain" buy up's. Where I spent the last 18 years doing only international schedules. Domestic, which I used to fly from my actual home city, (SEA), to my Home Base Domicile, NYC, (JFK/EWR), to anywhere international. It was great. Best thing I could ever imagine happening to me, or anyone. Do more on International flying. Get people out there to see, experience the world. It's wonderful, and you come back with a much broader, enlightened view of people, life, politics, humanity. Thanks for your channel here. It's most enjoyable. Take care. DB/SEA (5/15/22)
