More correctly Canelo wasn’t big enough name yet so he was lower on Haymon & Schaefer’s list of contracts to rework so they could steal him away. PBC held their 1st event in May 2015. 4 months later Canelo resigned with Goldenboy to a 3 yr deal. His 1st fight on that deal was Cotto for the WBC 160 Belt. So dont tell me Canelo wasnt loyal & couldnt have left Goldenboy. Seems you forgot that

However, when the snakes Schaefer and Haymon were trying to take over GB, Oscar came back from rehab before they could finish the job and Oscar was smart enough to lock up Canelo with a new highly lucrative deal in 2014 that also had broadcast exclusivity with HBO, BEFORE the snakes could pry away Alvarez. Like I said before Alvarez was LEGALLY CONTRACTED to stay. This was also mentioned when the lawsuit between GB and Schaefer/Haymon was settled and the snakes took most of the roster that did not include Alvarez because he had a contract independent of the other roster contracts they stole.

After its was common knowledge that Oscar was dealing with drug issues. And Canelo had already headlined 3 PPV's for Stephen Espinoza & Showtime so he could have just stayed @ Showtime but out of loyalty he resigned with Goldenboy. Oscar makes it sound like Canelo had no options & he saved his career when the opposite is true.
