Great video. What do you do if your side lanes are losing hard? Do you still stay mid or do you rotate to help them? In my last game supports rotated mid but side lanes couldn't win 2v1
Rotations should still be made as long as you feel that it will result in a positive outcome. Sitting at mid and keeping lanes pushed in without moving is only applicable when you cannot contribute to much results in the sidelanes.

My friend actually gained like +500 mmr in 2 weeks spamming Death Prophet but then lost all of it as soon as he switched to other heroes. So I don't really see a point of boosting yourself or others by spamming just one broken strat, because then what happens is you just find yourself in higher mmr than you can actually play and ruin a lot of games for other players. I think it's better at first to think what roles and heroes you want to play and then at first learn some basics like creep agro and what you should do with your role in various situations like winning lane, losing lane, early game, mid game, etc.
Same, its not about spaming op hero, its about becoming a better player
Hi guys, if you actually study this video deeper, you will notice that I talk a lot about general concepts being applied such as securing control, warding, pushing of waves, taking good fights etc. These are concepts that are able to be carried over across every other heroes. Watch some of my previous videos like the Lina first 20 mins, and compare that with this and you will notice a ton of similarities. I am not a firm believer of spamming heroes to master them. However, I do believe strongly in understanding and mastering fundamental concepts that are applicable across every other hero. Do watch the entire video further down and some of my other Midlane videos and compare the advice to see the similarities. You will notice they are extremely similar and general to how to play Mid proficiently. The hero simply fits the concepts extremely well. I could teach another Mid hero and it would still be very similar to this video, just with different power spikes and spell usage. Laning concepts, early game plan, mid game phase are almost 80-90% similar. Hope this makes sense guys :)
IMO, it's easier to practice concepts and roles on higher mmr because there are lower risks of griefs and unconventional picks and strategies. Cheese your way up, then learn after.

I did this, got to their tier 3 by 20 mins. At 21 mins a PL on the other team came out with aghs manta diffusal and half a Heart came out of bot lane 🤗
Hi bro, maybe you might have mistaken the idea of the gameplay. You need to move to side lanes if you can clearly pose a threat and push the towers and waves on the other lanes. The only thing that needs to be done before that is to ensure your own mid lane is pushed in and no new waves are spawning. Then if you are allowed to connect to a side lane after, whether that's to push or kill heroes there, you should be doing that instead of farming their jungle camps. Distance and consequences have to be taken into consideration. Do not, by any means afk at mid and just sit there even when you have pushed mid wave out and there are things to connect to near you. At the same time, you need to consider if there are any kill opportunities around you or whether or not you have set up control with wards and vision + rune control before deciding the other lane movements. It sounds like you were stuck at mid not moving despite the game telling you to move to PL to shut him down after you have solved everything around mid.

yeah well, my 3k team don't even wanna do tormentor on time let alone have the discipline to wait for ults to come off cd. Just constant feeding fights even when the score is 20-4... What fixes THAT?

Tried the DP so far 2-1 and the loss was just figuring it out the first game (plus i think i was vs arc warden smurf) its really powerful even shadow fiend couldn't push me out of lane with his spells impressive.
I see your lina videos but what other heroes should we try mid like this I like to have a pool of about 5 heroes I can use just to not get bored :DD
Hi, these concepts are general. All mid heroes you can apply the same thing to. All you have to figure out is what is a good rotation that leads to a kill and what's not based on your hero's ability to kill.
I guess my point is with DP its very easy to get favorable trades I think a good follow up would be a guide for a hero that has less favorable trades than lina and dp but is still a great pick thats all i really mean :D because lina and dp have the benefit of extremely oppressive spell kits. Or maybe just how to play against them as a hero with less of an advantage love your stuff@@BalloonDota
do you have any tips for what to do when you lose lane mid? ie how to recover, what kind of plays / map control to take when you can’t control the mid lane / enemy jungle anymore?
If you lose lane, then recover by stacking your jungle camps and depushing the mid wave safely from behind tower.

Hi, DP honestly is a flexible pick. There isn't really a true counter to her such that a counter to her would mostly mean a counter to other heroes such as heavy disables. You can be confident to pick her regardless of the matchup as she is very flexible and does decently against most of the matchups in the game.
Very long range heroes like sniper or lina because they will outfarm you with better animation and you will not be able to siphon them.
Heroes who can break siphon easily should be 50/50 (like qop, puck, od), but probably won't be able to dominate.
@@PSYCH0N4VT hi, this is not necessarily true because with proper laning fundamentals and understanding, you can still get on top of these long ranged heroes to Siphon them while chipping them down with Crypt Swarm at lvl 1 and 3, followed by Siphon dives off boots at lvl 4 and 5.
@@PSYCH0N4VT this is tested and practiced with many mid students of mine already in 1v1 lobbies. Aggro mechanics, positioning, timing of spell casting, identifying strong points and appropriate power spikes are much more important factors to be diving into as compared to hero match ups.

Balloon, how do you play late game DP if mistakes are made early or you don't finish quick enough? I used to love playing DP but she falls off late game and I struggle
Hi, then perhaps the focus wouldn't be into how to play her when you make mistakes, but rather working on those mistakes you made in the first place. Often, mistakes are a byproduct of inconsistent habits and incorrect understanding of concepts, so that should be where you should be placing focus on to learn instead. DP typically stays online all throughout and only starts falling around 35-40 mins onwards. At that point, you probably need to start itemizing for more damage output items such as turning into more right-click based like Parasma.

Thanks for the video! Ive been playing dp a lot lately but If the enemy team has a sniper I get destroyed. Any tips for handling sniper as dp? I can never get close to him in tf and he just melts me while I suck their other heroes
You need to run into his face, buy a blink and bkb ult on top of him to ult siphon him down. In lane, you need to catch him off guard by moving into him when he decides to commit to a creep last hit to close distance to him.

Tried this in ranked. Enemy picked Magnus and easily skewered me into tower without fail. Went 0 and 5 in the first 8 minutes. Abandoned the game in a fit of rage.

Hi, Huskar is not strong at early level 1 and 2. He starts becoming a problem at 3, especially 4 5 onwards. Abuse his short attack range and constantly harass him at lvl 1 and 2 early on so you eventually get 3 faster than him and dive with 2 spirit siphon charges while he is still lvl 2. This is the best way to go about it.

Huakar strong hero. I think just fokus on under tower and after clear creep go stack on Jungle or rotate if have strong spell or ult. To Chase huskar really need urn or spell that dicrease regen or burst dmg like finger.

hello, thank you for this another great video from you! I wanna ask smth about securing creep, after aggro to range should i secure melee with spell or ranged? Sometimes i the melee will die like super fast and i use spell, but then i have cd for securing range
Hi, ideally securing both melee and ranged is best if you can set up the melee fast enough. Otherwise, if you can secure melee with spell and still right click enemy a ton that would work fine. In most scenarios, it would be best to secure the enemy ranged, but not always as this is specific to the scenario at hand. Sometimes you would need to stop hitting the melee creep so it dies slower, and change target to the ranged creep to time both together, all the while juggling between aggroing, avoiding harass from enemy and harassing the enemy at the same time.

Yes, as long as you win lane and break tower, this should always be the case regardless of hero.
@@BalloonDota I feel like the Heroes I mentioned are more susceptible to dying if the enemy rotates.
@@YugenDota With vision, information and lead, it doesn't matter what you play. If you spot kills and have level advantage, they die. If you know you can't do anything when they throw a few heroes to rotate to you, then just back off until you find another opening to go up again.

Is DP still unbalanced after 7.35c update?
I don't think 7.35c did much to her or her relevant items, and the hero spell's way of working is what makes her really strong. So I believe she is and will always be viable until they change how her skills work or something, mainly her siphon.

Even when I win mid and draw attention from both of their supports, my side lanes still lose.
You still need to go to sidelanes if sidelane kills are possible. What this video means is if you have no guarantee of achieving positive outcome at sidelane, then you will play for midlane instead. Sidelanes losing can also be caused by our actions at mid indirectly.
Isnt the swamp wide enuf to cover the entire creep wave? Ddint eeally get what you mean the creeps need to be aligned
Sometimes the Swarm might end up missing a part of the wave because of the direction you might throw it in, like including unnecessary space on the side could make you end up missing the other half of the side of the wave. So its always best to align your hero to the direction of the creeps you want to Swarm and do that all in one go towards the enemy hero direction as well.

Nope, imagine if you feed mid like 0-15, you think your team will be able to carry you? Nope. You being 15-0 is way more winnable than 0-15.
What if you face Huskar?
DP does well against huskar due to attack range difference and ability to siphon creeps + enemy hero to stay alive. Once you hit level 6 you should be able to easily kill him.
