Is Lucas The Spider Plushie Worth the Wait?

- After months of waiting we got Lucas. Here's what I think of the little guy.

He looks the same but no voice, they don't seem to make the sound version anymore.

I feel that while it’s the cutest Lucas line, the plushie itself sounds rather sinister while saying it.

seriousearthling, thanks for confirming the 4th phrase. Mine is still working. After waiting so long, kind of annoying that the phrases would go bad. also I see no way of opening him up and replacing the battery. Maybe teespring should mail us all a new sound box?
Unfortunately, mine always sounded like static, and stopped making any sounds in 3 days. However, he is still soft and adorable. And he will have to stay my huggable Baby Yoda substitute, since Disney just blew it for Christmas 2019.
I know I'm a year late with this but my daughter absolutely adored her Lucas. We had to get replacements because the talk boxes in my original purchase were messed up but we got to keep them so we ended up with 4 and even when the boxes couldn't talk my daughter didn't care.

My daughter gave Lucas to me for Christmas last year and I am happy to report that mine still talks clearly.

Guess I got lucky as well. The first three I ordered all work fine. I did have to let them warm up and press and hold the button several times to get them going. But once they got going they kept working. They are super cute and soft and were worth the wait in my opinion. We'll see if the other two I ordered work when I get them. If people return their's and hope to get a replacement, they may be disappointed. I'm not sure there will be any to replace since these were limited editions and there wasn't any more after this initial run. I personally don't even care about the voice anyhow. I just wanted the cute plushie!
outsider238, I like your technique, and problem solving approach here. Thanks for sharing. The plushies are super cute, and my kids just love trying to say things in "Lucas' voice" so a totally agree with you on keeping them either way, but if the voice is an issue across the board maybe Teespring should offer to ship an improved, spare voice box/cylinder to replace the first one inside. Although cutting into Lucas to fix him would be kind of hard for my kids emotionally..
No, don't cut into him! Poor little Lucas! Haha! I figure sooner or later the voice will stop working anyhow when the battery runs out but that's okay.

what i like of the plushie is that lucas' "hair" looks like something very very soft, but on the real animations (for me) LOOKS LIKE A TARANTULA WITH SPIKES!!!... ok, no but it looks a bit "deadly"..... (man im watching too much from Bear Gryllls, time to an aracnophobia relax) ((but i dont even have aracnophobia...))

My husband bought me one for my birthday. My 41st birthday. Because he knew I'd be as happy as an 8 year old at Christmas. Based on my squealing, clapping and squeezing Lucas 800 times I'd say I didn't disappoint!

Well at least you were the only person I've seen on CZcams so far that actually got it to work out of all these ordered only 2% they said actually worked and that's very very bad news for this business
I don't know if people are going to get a refund I don't know if they're going to send them back but I do know that there are some greedy's SOB's on eBay right now trying to sell these for hundreds of dollars and for me that makes me want to be sick because that is not what this character is about he is about bringing joy and happiness into someone's life.
that being said I never ordered one because well I don't have a life anymore in 2012 my fiance killed herself my dog died December 2012 my mom died January 27th 2013 I lost two more people to my relatives to my dog my uncle died last year and recently my cousin died this year
so I'm not going to get nothing for Christmas and I don't like the holidays and that's pretty much why why am I saying all this I don't know because I was told on my journal and my doctor told me to write things and to be honest why not you know so yeah but I'm glad you got him his Christmas presents at least somebody have a nice Christmas because I'm not I'm not getting nothing at no he's been Christmas with anyway here's my email if you want to say it shower you want to put me down or ridiculing me hey I don't care I'm just saying how I feel

Ikr?! I saw one for $300... bruh. He literally JUST came out. There's thousands of Lucas plushies out there right now, so it's not even rare yet.
They gave the option of keeping the one you have a receiving a free replacement or returning and getting a full refund. I received the second shipment for pre-orders and they gave a little note warning that there have been voicebox reports and how to contact them for a replacement. Granted it took a while for my replacement to ship, they did inform me in the email it would come this February. It was a nice and easy process, so I wasn't so upset.
Also, hope you're safe after doxing yourself. Please, try not to do that again.
