    Great video. Can you help me with one question. What dog breed would reliably keep raccoons away but isn’t too high strung or vocal?

    • @allgoodbossdogtraining
      @allgoodbossdogtraining  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Most medium to large sized dogs are capable of deterring raccoons. The smell of their feces and urine in the yard is usually enough to keep them away. I have a big outdoor chest freezer full of meat and I’ve never had a problem with Raccoons and I live in a very rural area. Labs, Golden Retrievers, Amstaffs, or American Bulldogs would all be good choices. However, some bold raccoons may get used to the threat of a dog around. Raccoons are capable of killing dogs and they often carry rabies and canine distemper virus. I would invest in a “raccoon proof” trash can and maybe change what time you take out the trash

    Do Yorkshire terriers have long lifespans compared to other breeds of dogs?

    • @allgoodbossdogtraining
      @allgoodbossdogtraining  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes. A lot of Yorkies tend to live to be 16 years old and I’ve heard of some living to be 20. It all depends on their genetic health, diet, and overall quality of life.

    Nice informative video bro. Great work. What is the dog breed Alabai like? Is it a good choice as a livestock guardian dog?

    • @allgoodbossdogtraining
      @allgoodbossdogtraining  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The Alabai is an excellent livestock guardian breed. They’re traditionally used to protect goats and sheep. They can kill wolves, chase off bears, and defend the flock from any other threat. Although they don’t always win when against a predator (same is true with every livestock guardian breed) so it’s best to have multiple dogs in the field. Alabai are very powerful, reserved with strangers, and usually very aggressive towards unfamiliar dogs. They are incredible loyal to their family and property. They can be good with kids when raised correctly. There are working, show, and dog fighting lines. Show lines are usually much bigger but that’s undesirable as a livestock guardian. Smaller dogs do more work and they cost less to feed.

    Do African Mastiffs make good pets?

    • @allgoodbossdogtraining
      @allgoodbossdogtraining  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I wouldn’t recommend them to a first time dog owner because they are very powerful and not suitable for a passive or submissive person. An ideal owner should have experience with other large powerful breeds (Cane Corso for example). They should also have enough time in their day to provide the dog with adequate physical and mental stimulation to prevent destructive behavior. And most importantly, they should properly socialize them from very early on with people, animals, and various situations to prevent disastrous outcomes. These dogs are capable of killing leopards so the owner has to be very dedicated to socializing their Boerboel. So in the right hands, yes they can be good pets

    What are the pros and cons of owning an Italian mastiff as opposed to a Cane Corso (or other similar breeds)?

    • @allgoodbossdogtraining
      @allgoodbossdogtraining  Před 10 měsíci

      Some pros for owning a Neapolitan Mastiff would be their protective nature, their low energy, and calm demeanor. Some cons would be their shedding and and possible health concerns. Another con would be the fact that larger individuals require more food. Cane Corso have less grooming needs, and are more versatile and trainable. Some cons would be possible dominance tendencies and they have more needs for mental and physcal stimulation. It’s also important to note that there are working line Neapolitan Mastiffs out there and they have a lot in common with the Cane Corso. I’ve made videos for both of these breeds if you want more details

    Can you consider a Pitbull/Hound mix a family dog?

      I suppose so. I’d say it depends on the individual’s temperament.

      @@allgoodbossdogtraining Thanks for answering my questions. So my second and last question is: Who would win in a fight, a pair of Basenji dogs fighting a Bullmastiff and what will be the win rate? And do you have a problem If I ask you some questions because I really trust you?

      @@allgoodbossdogtraining OK, sorry. Do Greyhounds have better stamina than cheetahs and how?

    • @allgoodbossdogtraining
      @allgoodbossdogtraining  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes Greyhounds are bred for their speed and endurance. Long distance running is what they do best. Although it’s important to note that the whole Cheetahs overheat after running thing is inaccurate. Scientist first came up with that by putting captive Cheetahs on treadmills and putting tubes up their ass to measure their temperature while they run. Cheetahs can probably run faster and longer than scientists will have you believe
