Do the right thing because it's the right thing to do. But what is "right?" From my understanding, Zoroastrianism defines this in the best terms - selflessness with mutual benefit in the larger societal view to improve upon creation and reduce its corruption. On the other hand, in "ethical egoism" one believes that it's morally right to act in one's best interest, even if it conflicts with the interests of others - i.e. if it turned out good for me, it was right; if it turned out bad for me, it was wrong.
