  • In this video, I'll take you behind the scenes on a tour of our brand new live stream studio setup. And what's special about this studio is that it's a 3-in-1 studio. It's set up for live streaming, CZcams videos, and podcasting.
    In this live stream studio tour, I'll show you every piece of gear we're using and how it all fits together. I'll talk about the set design and the choices we made on that front - along with live streaming lighting, audio, and everything in between.

      It's called Teleprompt+. No remote. Though sometimes I'll use the app on my phone to control what's being shown on the tablet if I don't want to reach forward. In this studio, I'm so close to the tablet that I rarely use the remote app on my phone.

    @AJaytheCEO Před 4 lety +1

    Why are you controlling the ATEM via ethernet to your MacBook when you can control it via the USB connection? Is there a particular reason or advantage for doing this?

    • @prochurchtools
      @prochurchtools  Před 4 lety +1

      Originally that Ethernet was setup because we were using the ATEM Mini Pro's encoder to live stream directly. When we started using Ecamm Live it seemed as though we needed the USB connection for that. And when I read BM's documentation they said the USB-C connection was for using a camera "like a webcam" so I just assumed we needed both. Sounds like we don't maybe?

  • @TimothyJLee
    @TimothyJLee Před 3 lety

    Thank you for uploading the awesome video! It is super helpful for me to understand what gears I might need for my church CZcams studio! But, I actually have a question!
    After watching a series of your videos about Live Streaming cameras and video editing, I am thinking to buy BMPCC 4K and ATEM Mini Pro for my need of both live streaming and better quality video recording functionality for my CZcams video because I also need to share my laptop screen on my video. But I am wondering If my video quality will be downgraded if I am going to record my video straight out of the ATEM Mini Pro that is connected to BMPCC 4K.
    And, if it does, I am thinking an alternative way that is if recording my video from Atomos Ninja V in which its input is connected to the ATEM Mini Pro HDMI output will compensate the video quality eventually that might have lost from ATEM Mini Pro.
    So, I am wondering which way of recording will give me the best result. I am also wondering if they are significantly different in video quality overall.
    1) BMPCC 4K - ATEM Mini Pro - Atomos Ninja V
    2) BMPCC 4K - ATEM Mini Pro
    Hope my question is make-sense and I will appreciate if you can answer my question :)

    • @prochurchtools
      @prochurchtools  Před 3 lety +1

      You can record directly out of the ATEM Mini Pro onto an SSD (for example) and you won't lose image quality. The image quality becomes degraded when you start streaming online - because the data rate gets throttled by Internet speeds and streaming platforms. Prior to that, you're good.

    • @TimothyJLee
      @TimothyJLee Před 3 lety

      @@prochurchtools Brady, thank you very much for the answer!
      You can record directly out of the ATEM Mini Pro to my SSD without choosing the streaming quality, and this way you don't lose image quality. Am I right to understand this way? Or, in order to retain image quality, do you still need to set streaming quality (like HyperDeck High, Medium, Low) first before you start recording on ATEM Mini Pro though you are going to record only? I am asking this because the ATEM Mini Pro manual says, "The streaming quality setting will determine the quality of your recording." Not sure if this applies even when you are recording only.
      Lastly, can I ask what is your preference codec setting on BMPCC 4K for recording a video for CZcams or live streaming, when in both cases you are recording through ATEM Mini Pro? (For example, ProRes 422 or RAW 1:12..)

  • @SequimCommunityChurch

    You've sold us on the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera...one question, though. Can you record to an SD card while also live streaming?

  • @neilgray2535
    @neilgray2535 Před 3 lety

    Also...a run down of your in camera settings would be brilliant!

    • @prochurchtools
      @prochurchtools  Před 3 lety

      Both the LUT and camera settings are highly individual to this specific studio setup. So applying them to other rooms wouldn't be very helpful. For example, we're shooting at a very wide aperture (f1.7) because we want to create separation between our subject and the background. Depth of field is how we can do that in this room, but because the room is so small, the aperture has to be crazy-wide open. Make the room five feet longer and the aperture changes, thus the ISO changes, etc.

    • @prochurchtools
      @prochurchtools  Před 4 lety

      Not sure about the specs on this one, but it's not our fully loaded one that we use primarily for video editing.
      As for the attachments, the world is in the middle of moving over to the new standard of USB-C. Apple has gone all-out by only putting USB-C ports on their MacBooks. But a lot of other connections aren't there yet.
