This was an excellent vid. The quality of your presentation was first class. You were relaxed in fro nt of the camera, your review was articulate and informative and it had an easy flow. Also your camera was well placed and you captured the charm of the New Orleans atmospher. Well done.
You know what…you should do more videos like this!! It is always great to see good quality food at reasonable prices especially in Disney. Very informative. It’s a great feeling to finish a meal and not feel like you been ripped off !! I am always looking for reasonable meals when we are in the parks and hotels. Thank you. ❤
Hey Kristen, we love your videos and we’re from New Orleans (born & raised). I have to say, generally when you guys & Nate get Disney gumbo, it never looks quite right, it either looks too thick or too dark. However, the meal you had in this video is, by far, the closest looking to authentic NOLA gumbo. They may have put a tad too much rice, but overall it looks delicious! The jambalaya also looked spot on, we usually serve it with french bread, but that’s nitpicking…looks great! If y’all ever make it out here, make sure to let us know & we’ll make sure you know the correct places to go. Keep up the good work!

Great review Kristin! My family is staying at French Quarter this summer so this review is timely! Thanks for reviewing both the Gumbo and Jambalaya, I was curious about these two items specifically, I think I will go for the Gumbo when I am there as the Jambalaya looks a little dry for my taste!
I’m down for gumbo! Do they also have any plain options for my pickier eater? I saw the menu but was wondering if there are other choices. Thanks for posting. We are doing a non park stop in Orlando and planning on spending some time at Disney Springs. A quick boat ride might be in order.

We just ate there in February and got the same things it was so good!!! Disney Cajun food is the best!

You make the gumbo sound so good. I don't have many options for gumbo in NE PA. Do they ever serve etouffee? That is my absolute favorite NOLA dish.

They have the basics like burgers, chicken, pizza & pasta. The menus are on the My Disney Experience app. Just search Sassagoula
Do you have to pay to park at this resort if you just want to drive over for an afternoon to bum around?
Nope! I just tell them I’m going to get beignets & they never have a problem.
Too bad it's served on paper with plastic utensils.
