I'd reccomend A House of many Doors. British Fishing Simulator, but instead it's ambiguous Hellscape murder Simulator with insects
Except for the Godkillers and Ghouls. The Ghouls will use flying ships and the godkillers the hollowed out corpses of gods (that look like a patched together squid) to get around instead of insects.
Idk, I tried AHOMD a while back after loving Sunless Seas and Skies, but I feel like it lacked a lot of the music, sfx, and graphic quality that made Failbetter’s work so compelling.
Certainly not a bad game, but definitely had more of an amateur budget feeling.

Now there is a restoration mod being made, restoring all the cut content and making some qol changes, and some small additions!
The writing was far better than in the Sunless games in my opinion from the start though.

Also the British fishing simulator sounds fun, if you decide to return to that idea at some point I won't complain

The only bad thing for me about this mod is the sexualization, many mods kinda fail to just know the fact that dd is not supooused to be horny
Eh, that one was weird choice claimed to be inspired by old films, so I'll give them penalty reduction.
i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks that. that's a huge turn off for me. i'm not a prude, but it just really pulls you out of the atmosphere. looks like one of these cursed horny mods you see popping in from time to time on the workshop page.
same. i probably won't end up playing it. i wish there were some sprite edits available because it's so jarring.

It would be interesting if they had the ship mechanic be able to go to different regions (maps) say the 1st act be the desert, the 2d act be a mountain range, 3rd act goes to a jungle island chain

Never heard of this, but looks pretty god damn interesting. Even though I suck at DD, so no idea if this mod is for me.
definitely tougher, though there is no shame in restarting DD at the Radiant difficulty. even the game itself recommends it for beginners.
I enjoy more Black reliquary and less vanilla DD for a big reason. That is, in the vanilla game, the theme is like stressful, hopeless, every encounter bring more despair than hope, even if u win. In black reliquary, i dont feel that way, the battles are energetic, to the death, to win and go for the kill, explore and move on.
Dk why i feel this way in both, but i love the feeling of a rush adrenaline when i fight in BR, and i hate the feeling of being stress in vanilla one.

Don't know how well to trust a review that dumpsters DD as a unfairly difficult game that 'RNG fucks you up every time'. DD is not a hard game. Learn what you're doing and how to play. It is really easy until the third tier difficulty of dungeons, and by the time you get to those, you ought to know what you're doing.

Cope. No amount of prep saves any team from a two person stun and 3 crits in a row 5 steps into a dungeon. Even veteran players know that you absolutely can be screwed out of heroes or a dungeon regardless of prep

To be fair, modders putting their kinks into my game does scare me a lot more than Lovecraftian horror. Modern problems require modern solutions and all that.

As a middleeastern person myself Im appricate all insperations from middleastern myth and history. The Levantine Empire is one of the coolest fantasy middle eastern factions I have seen in a peice of media.
10:52 I disagree with that as the second game is a lot different than the first one and so if you're bored with the first one and want something new and refreshing the second game does that job gread, at least in my opinion (I have 250h in the first and 150 in the second). Great vid overall though, I'll be sure to try this mod out, it looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

Look like there’re many update with BR mod, such as more Classes add-on (Mod Classes from DD1 with some rework) Veiled, Hexxer, Thrall, and Philomath. And they are very confusing but kinda fun in their own

I am not sure if it is just me but this feels far more difficult than the base game, have hardly been able to finish a single dungeon yet.

For me my only problem is enemy stats.
I just rage quited after basically every single enemy dodging my attacks while also always crit-healing themselves with restoration and any attack they had, specially the raiders from the desert exterior.
Enemies are well made, but it's just so stupid how a huge fucking monster who takes 2 or 3 spaces and also has 120 HP + 40% protection also has 15 dodge, so you will miss your attacks, AND there's always one enemy to buff him with restoration that crits every 2nd turn.
I dunno, i think they fucked up the RNG WAY more than the original game.

Idk what DD you played, but its really hard to get killed in the first round in the original and even in Pitch black dungeon mod(unless you are fighting spiders). If you are getting fucked by so called RNG, your skills are lacking.

im about to buy DD with ALL the dlc's so Should I really start with the original game or begin using the BR mod? i will only play 1 of them instead of both when i finish the game if that helps
If you haven't played DD before, I recommend you start with the original because the BR mod is balls to the wall hard
BR is harder than the baseline game, in my experience. But also more fair, in a way. Also very fun... if you put the effort into getting gud.

DD1 is unironically easy as shit once you have even a small idea of how to metagame stats and stuns, DD2 has a much tougher combat system.

I don't like overhauls like this. They add things that are unnecessary and down right useless. for example, femboys, horror to vestals heals, new classes that don't fit. Point is why add something to a game that is good as is.
